After reading Oliver's superb introduction, my understanding of where these sports are in their development has been greatly enhanced. I can't wait to get back out on the slopes myself! I read this book from end to end and found this book very technical in nature.If you are into the engineering of ski design and want to know exactly the dynamics of skiing this is the book for you. There is some laymans terms in this book and most people would understand the non-technical stuff.The book talks about the Claw Ski. John Howe designed this ski and the Claw Plate with all the vibration dampning. This ski design is taking notice all over the world...

I read this book for a project in the Library at Waukazoo school.
If you like snow sports I think you will like this book
Because there are artifacts about the first snow boarder and show some good moves if you want to be a champ skier, snow boarder, and I thick is the best book in the world
So if you are a good snow boarder over eight years old and under twelve years old you will love it and you will take it to your grave. I sure know I will. It says a little about snow mountain biking and I wish I was in the book every day and if I was I would never be able to do those big moves. I think you will love this book as much as I do only if you are in to snow sports.

The World Snowboard Guide gives reviews on all the resorts you'll ever want to go to and the rest (which are good for a laugh). Jam packed with useful information and tips from people all looking for what snowboarders need to know about a particular resort and its offerings.

You find out all the best places to go for Carving, Freeriding and Freestyle including lists of all the parks+pipes and the best runs. Then when you get back down to the town you also have a list of bars to check out. Then you need to crash out and in the World Snowboard Guide you can find all the cheapest and coolest places to stay including hostels and camp sites.

If you want to go snowboarding somewhere new then start here. Useful phone numbers abound and in planning a snowboard trip all I need is this book and a phone.

After a fairly aggravating first-time try at snowboarding last winter (lousy snow, mediocre instruction, ... rental equipment), I got this book, among several others. Ms. Older lays out the basics of getting started in this sport in clear, jargon-free language, covering areas such as proper clothing to wear, boots, bindings, the right board, beginning exercises and then actual riding technique. After reading this book, I have some hope that even a middle-aged guy like me, with a somewhat beat-up body, can eventually make it down a mountain in one piece.

This is the best snowboard guide book because it's the first edition--everything is up to date, which is super important in snowboard park reviews because things change so much year to year.
Even more importantly, the writers are snowboard industry insiders, so they definitely know where's cool to hang out after shredding. Lots of pro snowboarders comments and tons of cool background info.
