No, I did not purchase this because my last name is Johansen. This is just THE book if you are looking for THE best, most unique, boutique type loding in the USA.

This book goes far beyond standard travel guidebooks. It provides subjective, yet accurate, ratings of condos in key island vacation spots. I have used the ratings to plan my condo vacations and have found the info to be very accurate. Hoever, it is getting dated. I anxiously await the next edition

I was looking for a history of the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, but this book has that and SO much more. It is well written, the author certainly knows his subject. The book kept me rapt from the first page to the last. I finished it in a night, and am now going back and re-reading the parts that interested me the most. This author has a good style, easy to read.

Crested Butte: From Coal Camp To Ski Town by western historian and author Duane A. Smith is the historical documentation of the history of Crested Butte, Colorado and how the great community came to be. Readers will discover the fascinating and multifaceted story of Crested Butte which originally attracted coal miners, along with many great details of that history, as well as all of the dangers the area's business encountered. Crested Butte is highly recommended to all students of history, specifically those who enjoy the study of historical Colorado. Other very highly recommended works by Duane Smith and published by Western Reflections are A Brief History of Silverton, A Quick History of the Durango and Silverton Railroad, and a Visit with the Tomboy Bride.

I recently took my kids to Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida. It was a first trip for all of us so I had no idea what to expect. This book proved to be crucial in planning every aspect of our vacation. It shows you how to get the best deals on everything from hotels and plane tickets as well as the best times of the year, the best days and even the best time of day to visit every attraction. I must have refered to the book at least 20 times a day for the best places to eat, overviews of each ride and the maps.
Overall, we saved a lot of money, but the most important thing is that we saved so much time. In knowing where to go, what to do first and which rides were best for my children, we spent very little time waiting in lines or for a table at a restaurant. In fact, during most of our time at the theme parks, we found ourselves going in the opposite direction as everyone else.
I am so grateful to Corey and Janice for all their hard work and thorough research. It was like having my own private tour guide for my vacation!

I have borrowed about 8 books from the library on DisneyWorld and found this one to be the best combined with The Complete Walt Disney World.

This book has information that you want, like what days to go to every park, how to buy a plain ticket and how to get around efficiently.

This is a great resource for planning your trip to Disneyland.

Very informative read for the rides, attractions, places to stay. The worksheets are very helpful as well, to keep the information in one place. I also suggest Birnbaums Guide to accompany this and you have a full and well-rounded set of guides to plan your trip and day-to-day activities.

I also suggest joining some message boards to assist you in your planning. Simply Google or do an internet search of "Disney trip planning message board" and you will have quite a few to choose from. Have fun at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Well, most of us will never be able to afford to stay in most of these hotels, but they are absolutely beautiful, and the information on them and why they are eco-friendly. The photos are incredible!
