This is a great book packed full of practical suggestions for teachers in all disciplines. Very easy to read and follow.

The books were received in a timely manner and were in perfect condition. The transaction went smoothly which is always good!

I was blown away by some of the ideas in this book. If you are intrigued by the concept of differentiation, but feel like you need more practical guidance than some of Tomlinson's other books offer, snatch this one up. As an English teacher, I found the Macbeth unit plan invaluable. The downside is that only a few of the units are likely to be applicable to any one teacher's course schedule. But even if there is only one unit for your subject area, it's probably worth the splurge. Or, if you don't mind sharing, you could split it with teacher friends who are just as passionate about reevaluating our current practices and doing what's truly best for each student.

An interesting book. The first section describes the gradual tightening of legal restrictions on the Jewish people of Germany. Each decree gradually stripping another layer of civil protection by defining them as second class citizens. The final legal step was to define what a Jew was, and how they no longer qualified even as a second class citizen.

The second part of the book tells the story of the same process in Poland. Each step was carefully calculated as part of the final solution of the "Jewish problem." Interesting is Heydrichs order in 1939 where it is obvious that extermination was the final goal. Also interesting, at least for me, was how clearly Hitler considered Jews and Communists one and the same. Rather, you could be a communist without being a Jew, but all communists took orders from the international Jewish conspiracy.

The final section describes the events in the Soviet Union where the Holocaust operated without any restraints. This book is about the destruction of the Jewish population so you will not find any reference to the deaths of millions of Poles, Ukranians, etc.

An interesting book. If you have minimal knowledge of the Holocaust this would give the reader a starting point. Please remember this not going to read like a novel although in its own way it is a narrative. A narrative of the destruction of the Jewish people.

This series of legal documents, decrees, orders, instructions or live accounts describes better than any litterary form the progression in horror which our Jewish parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nevews had to suffer from April fools' day of 1933 when waring the David star was enforced to this community until the end of the second world war in mid 1945.

As a Christian I was surprised to discover that the trauma resulting from the horrifying murders is so deep in the Jewish community that, for most, its members if they do know about the holocaust, actually don't have a real view of it. Naturally the massive and sadistic aggresion against the Jewish people screens, in this book, the fate of the ones who shared their fate for having protected them or for having fought the Nazis.
After all Jewish people suffered between two third and three quarter of the enormous human non-military losses under surrealistically inhuman conditions.

This book should be handled with the respect normally due to religious books: it represents the steps of the martyrdom of the Jewish families under Nazi madness.

The content of the book should be remembered in details by every western culture including Israel's right wing (after all "Nazi" represents the danger of mixing nationalism and socialism...) Americans should learn from this book that being more powerful doesn't mean being better. Europeans could find in it how non elected "public servants" laugh at democratically elected representatives (elected ones disappear over the time, bureaucrats remain and never have to respond for diffused results).

For the content of this book to be fully meaningful, it should be enlightened by Milgram's explanation of how "Obedience to authority" made it possible for these horror to happen.

A major book which supplies everything Jewish and non Jewish need to know. A reedition with a lot of proper photographs of the murders by the Einsatzgruppen, of the Gettos and of the concentration camps conditions would be welcome.

Ben Gilad, arguably one of the top five practitioner-scholars in the competitive intelligence arena (the others, in my opinion, are Jan Herring and Leonard Fuld, his partners; Babette Bensoussan in Australia, and Mats Bjore in Sweden), makes a very important contribution with this book. It is for business leaders what Kristan Wheaton's book, was and is for government leaders.

The author's earlier book, "Business Blindspots: replacing myths, beliefs and assumptions with market realities", remains one of the single best references for business intelligence professionals (but only available from Infonortics UK), together with Babette Bensoussan and Craig Fleisher's Strategic and Competitive Analysis: Methods and Techniques for Analyzing Business Competition

I regard this book as being primarily for the manager of the business enterprise rather than the business intelligence professional, primarily because it is very helpful in breaking through old mind-sets and suggesting that very specific attitudes and activities must characterize those endeavors that wish to avoid costly surprises. I would say that this book, together with Yale business author Jeffrey Garten's book, The Politics of Fortune: A New Agenda For Business Leaders are "must reads" for the senior executive who desires to not just survive but to excel in the 21st Century.

The author, who has a solid understanding of the history of surprise in military or national security circles, makes the point that surprise does not occur for lack of signs that can be detected, but for lack of a culture and mind-set open to seeing and understanding those signals.

The book combines survey results from professionals attending the Academy of Competitive Intelligence (the single best offering in the world) with real-world accounts, "gray box" supplementals, and "manager's checklists" at the end of each chapter that are in essence an executive summary of the chapter.

This is a 2-3 hour read, and well-worth anyone's time, but especially well-worth the time of the executive who is willing to consider the possibility that they are grossly unaware of real-world external threats to their future bonuses, and that there might be some relatively simple low-cost solutions to dealing with the threat that require, rather than vast sums of money, a change in mind-set.

I ordered this book based on the previous reviewer's comments, and I was not disappointed. If I have one criticism, the book format "looks" a bit like the mass market, superficial, self-agrandizing lot. However, in reality it's quite meaty, well referenced, and insightful with what so far appears to be theoretically sound as well as practical recommendations.

Executives of big companies should read this book because the proposed method looks like an effective tool for companies to stay big. Executives of small companies should read the book because their bigger competitors may be reading it, and maneuvering against a large competitor who has a good early warning system could be tough. So if you're planning an asymmetric strategy, you better know what you're up against. Anyhow, even without any offensive intentions towards bigger companies, the leaders of small organizations should look into this book since lack of early warning can ruin small and big companies alike.

I also recommend the book to students of management as an insight into the tricky subject of how organizations build an image of their environment. Most of the literature on that field tends to be written in a researcher-to-researcher style, like books on organizational sensemaking or cognitive oligopolies. This book stands out since it's clear, solution oriented and written for practitioners.
Moreover, the book offers some solution to the never ending discussion regarding deliberate versus emergent strategy making. The book shows how to deal with a complex environment by understanding and monitoring it, instead of planning yourself to death with irrelevant tools or not planning at all.

The book also discusses organizational politics that might block a competitive intelligence function since it often lacks the direct access to decision makers that governmental intelligence agencies usually enjoy in their arena.

This is one of the best books of poetry translations I've ever read!!! While Rumi and other Sufi poets have recently become widely popular in the United States, I find the vast majority lack to depth of the original poets. THIS TRULY IS A DIAMOND AMONGST THESE WORKS. Dr. Angha has done a tremendous job of rendering the great Sufi Poets into language that captures the poet's range. There are such intricate details in the original language that are nearly impossible to recreate in an English rendering. This is not the case here. Dr. Angha takes great care to capture the message of each poem and prayer without sacrificing its integrity. A wonderful introduction to Sufism and Sufi writings is included in this work, providing invaluable information for those interested in the Sufi greats.

This book contains beautiful new translations of Sufi poetry by one of the pre-eminent Sufi holy women of the 21st century. It contains an insightful introduction which explains many of the traditions of Sufi poetry, making it more accessible to the English reader.

Fabulously informative, both from the author's perspective and of course the great Edgar Cayce healing and historical knowledge. Beautiful pictures. Clear and large print, nicely layed out, lovely book.

I really enjoyed this book and found it filled with loads of useful information. As a designer of chakra-balancing jewelry, this well-written book will help me tremendously.

The Edgar Cayce Guide to Gemstones, Minerals, Metals, and More, is an excellent source guide for those interested in this area. The book has quality pages, colorful photographs, and terrific insights on the various stones, minerals, and metals. I have gone back to the book more than a few times and have recommended it to my friends and family. Ms. Kaehr certainly knows what she is writing about.

This is not only a must read for all soccer lovers, but all literature lovers. If you don't know spanish check out the English translation.

This book tell us about the real love for soccer, it is incredible how Galeano document history of soccer from a new way to feel it. This is not a simple history of soccer, this is the history of why soccer is the most played sport. Galeano defenitly loves soccer as a graceful and inspiring sprot played by real artists, not as like the most of us, his is fan of soccer beyond his favorite team. Soccer is not only about scoring a goal and wining, it is realy important how you play it.
Full of descriptions of moments in soccer history that show us this.

Galeano no es hincha de su equipo, es fan e hincha del futbol por sobretodas las cosas. Por eso el futbol debe ser hermoso y con pasión. Este libro es una cronografía de los momentos que han hecho historia en el fútbol. Es una recopilación de los momentos que nos enseñan porque el futbol es el deporte mundial. Using historical writings of early explorers, the author captures the mystery and magic of the great Llano Estacado or "Staked Plains" that begin in West Texas and extend north and west. Particularly amusing is the efforts of early railroad surveyors to find underground water at the edge of the Llano (aka the caprock) only to miss one of North America's largest aquifers (the Ogalla) by a matter of miles and in some cases yards.

We were going on a trip to see the Llano Estacado and the canyon in west Texas.This book gave the trip so much dimension and understanding at how hard the life was for the explorers and the pioneers in this harsh land.Very cleverly written,holds one attention. Wonderful

I read and reviewed this book in preparation for our church's annual celebration of Evolution Sunday, a nationwide movement for the reconciliation of religion and science. Rarely have I encountered such a balanced and readable treatment of what is too often a painful and misunderstood subject. In this book, written for the ordinary reader, both religious and scientific worldviews are spelled out with great compassion and dignity. As the new Episcopal Bishop of California, the Rt. Rev. Marc Handley Andrus said of his study of science, "Wonder called me." Wonder calls us to religion as well. Thank you for this book.

The book presents nonjudgmental explanations and examples of both religious and scientific ways of viewing the world. The well-researched, engaging book presents much-needed information via nontechnical language, and is a great help to teachers and students alike in opening dialog between persons with contrasting world views. It defuses debates that have been most likely caused by miscommunication between religion and science. I highly recommend it to all teachers and students of science and theology.

Coming from a fairly traditional Industrial/Organizational Psychology (I/O) background that focuses primarily on systems, I immediately embraced the book in my quest to learn more about how unconscious psychodynamic processes influence executives' behaviours. Finally, a thoughtful, scholarly book addresses these invisible and powerful processes and ultimately makes the individual a focus in psychology.

Dr. Kilburg is also one of the first to blend Clinical Psychology, I/O Psychology, and Organizational Development and view executive coaching from a broad, holistic perspective. He provides a comprehensive 17-factor framework illustrating how systems and psychodynamic approaches can be integrated and applied to real-world issues and problems. Not only is Dr. Kilburg sensitive to the complexity and unpredictability of executives' behaviours, he provides a practical and tangible guide for coaches to learn more about how to have a meaningful impact on their behaviours.

Dr. Kilburg's book provides an interesting discussion of executive coaching, and nestles it nicely within the framework of the entire field of Human Resources Development! Case studies make for easy reading, as well as better understanding, but it is easy to see the complexity of thought behind the book's organization. There is no question that Dr. Kilburg is a scholar of the highest order. Clearly this is a reference book that can be revisited over the course of a career, as one's knowledge of the field grows, with new insights to be found with each return trip! Also, I think the many tables, figures, and models will be a resource to the thought process of coaches as they do their work, frequently without the benefit of a coach of their own! This book solves that pesky problem of where to go for high level help! I congratulate Dr. Kilburg on his fine work!
