With due respect to Ronald Reagan I feel compelled to say to Craig Runde and Tim Flanagan "there you go again!" Building Conflict Competent Teams takes the principles of effective leadership discussed in their previous highly successful book, Becoming a Conflict Competent Leader, quite literally to a new level - the team. In their new work they bring together concepts and research regarding the fundamental dynamics of both effective teamwork and conflict between and among people. The authors draw upon illustrative and engaging stories from their extensive experience and that of numerous others to provide a clear understanding of the inevitable role conflict plays, for better or worse, in teams. In addition to offering practical strategies that can help teams at all stages deal more effectively with conflict, they provide insights and recommendations for dealing with the "special circumstances" that are likely to play a significant role on teams in the 21st century - virtual and global teams. Building conflict competent teams is a must-read for anyone responsible for leading a team of any type and highly recommended for anyone who desires to perform as a successful team member. Any organization interested in reducing dispute resolution costs or lessening risks associated with mismanaged conflict should make it required reading.

I have read all of Robert Wysocki's books and this is by far his best. He's written a book that every Project Manager--rookie or seasoned pro--needs to read in order to improve his projects' success rates. As a PM with over 15 years of experience, I've had my share of projects derail or blow up and in many cases, poor alignment of the project team to the project was a significant cause. This book shows how to assemble the ideal team based on thinking styles and personality types for any given project. The chapters that covered problem solving and conflict management were especially insightful.

A new title; a new format for the book and the individual chapters; and lower price, all intended to make the book more readily and easily accessible to the physician, dietitians, nurses, and other professional that provide care to burned patient.

From shared decision-making to organizing more effective meetings through adjusting programs and structure, Eli Mina's THE BUSINESS MEETINGS SURCEBOOK provides business managers with important insights on efficiently managing meetings. Introductory chapters provide learners with the ideas to form a business meeting foundation, while experienced managers will want to turn to the later chapters on converting dysfunctional groups and handling more complex group issues. An essential executive's guide.

This book is an excellent and clear guide to those who want to learn in great detail how buyouts work, it provides several examples and definitions of related terms across all chapters. The book could serve as a text for a course in private equity or i-banking.

Highly recommended.

This is one of the greatest books I have ever read. The plot is that a dog gets stolen from his owner and is forced to pull sleds that weigh much more with all the items. It is full of emotion and action. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!

Cecil Harris is a beat writer for a Westchester County NY paper who recollects about his journalistic days covering the Yankees in the mid 90s, including the '96 season, as well as his past in living in a household filled with Met and Brooklyn Dodger fans. He describes about the time he became interested in the Yankees and shares his beliefs as to who are the 'true' Yankees today and in the past, as well as his favorite of all-time: Horace Clarke, a second baseman from the 60s-70s. Harris also offers a clear picture of how race plays a role in the game even today and what effect players have used the race card in interviews with Harris. Overall, I could not put this book down and I recommend it to anyone whose a true baseball fan, not even a Yankee fan per-say (but it does help if you are a Yankee fan!) Not only is the book a fun read, but your emotions will get the best of you when he recalls his immediate family and the memories he has of them through the sport of baseball. An excellent book overall - thanks Cecil Harris for your thoughts and wisdom.

This is a paperbound edition of the History of the University of
Miami's Football program from its beginnings up to the start of
the 1993 season. If you are a Hurricane fanatic, (and you should
be) this is a must have. Great color photos galore and the true
story of this dynasty period in one of the greatest college
football programs of all time. The championship games, the
coaches and the players are all covered here. It's out of print
now and is extremely hard to find, but very much worth the effort. If you can get one, you will not be disapointed. There
is also a VHS tape by the same name as well and it is a great
item to have for a visual document for this period as well. It's
out of print as well, but still available from a few dealers
when last I checked here on Amazon. If not, put this item on you wish list or pending purchase list when available ASAP.

This book is nirvana for Canes lovers everywhere. Canes haters,
spare yourselves the misery. Skip this and go back to your coloring books. The CANES Dominate and this is the proof.

The sermons of John R. Rice have done more for me than all the preaching and all the teaching of Southern Baptist churches and schools combined. Here was a man who had the hand of God on him. I hope and pray that God uses me as mightily as He used John R. Rice. I really do.

First, a disclaimer: I am a fellow member of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch sports staff with Mike Eisenbath, the book's author. Second, a disclaimer of the disclaimer: Anyone who knows me knows that I have never hesistated to criticize a fellow staff member. On to the review: Here are five good reasons ANY baseball fan would enjoy this book: (1) It's a terrific reference book. Even if you hate the Cardinals (I think they call those people Cub fans or something like that), you have to admit that the Cardinals have been a big part of baseball history with their numerous pennant winning teams and many great Hall of Famers. (2) If you are a Cardinal fan, the book will bring back a lot of pleasant memories and a few unpleasant ones. (I've learned NOT to mention the 1968 or 1985 World Series around rabid Cardinal fans.) (3) The 200 player profiles alone are worth the price of the book. In this chapter you can recall the exploits of such Cardinal greats as Stan Musial, Enos Slaughter, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock and Roger Freed. (4) If baseball trivia is your thing, you can pick up all kinds of good stuff browsing and reading this book. (5) If you want to impress your friends with what a great baseball expert you are, you can memorize this book in your spare time and impress your friends. You can't go wrong buying this book.
