I'd like to read the particles about using chemical products.

I'm in 9th grade, and I had to get this book for English. This is a wonderful collection on short stories. Madden does an excellent job assembling the stories and the information and history behind them. Even if you're not a student, this is a wonderful book full of short stories that will keep you up all night!!

And so goes the American food supply.
You've probably seen those bumper stickers "Fed Your Kid Today? Hug A Farmer", but no one would probably let their kid hug a suspicious looking guy covered in dirt, alone in a field, busy probing and measuring soil quality. Critical field work that allows those huggable corporate 'growers' to keep their rice yields up for those Cocoa Krispies hyping up your child in the morning.

This book pays homage to those in-the-scene workers who've mapped and maintain the National soil data base we depend on for food, forests and fun (recreation, for example, on BLM lands, however improperly managed by current conservative crats).

As someone who likes to explore the history of the discipline he's reading, I honed in on chapter 9 "Soil Survey and Soil-Geomorphology" authored by some of our best soil geomorphologists.

Note that one of the authors of this chapter, Holliday, covers just about the same ground in FOOTPRINTS IN THE SOIL (see section 2, "Soil as A Natural Body"), which is also highly recommended for an international perspective.

It was about time (plus parent material, climate, relief, and organisms) that someone wrote a history of the Survey. Soil scientists, agronomists, geographers, geologists and historians will benefit from the long view of those who've faithfully studied one of our most important resources.

This treatise is the authoritative basis of a whole industry. Almost everyone in commercial IT now exploits RAID technology in their daily lives, indirectly if not directly, and yet precious few people actually understand what's going on under the hood. This is it!

This book is perhaps a little too mathematical for many readers over-all, but the text alone is very well written and accessible, even if the maths is taken on trust.

If taken with The RAID Book (6th ed, RAID Advisory Board, Paul Massiglia, Peer-to-Peer Press, 1997) all the implications of RAID become far clearer.

RAID isn't a panacea for storage issues, and when people read this book they'll surely be better off for having done so.

Highly recommended.

The primary purpose of this manual is to provide background information for those engineers responsible for utilizing soil stabilization as an integral part of a pavement structure. Information is included which will allow the pavement design engineer to determine the thickness of stabilized layer(s) for a pavement in a specific climate and subjected to definable highway traffic.
The construction engineer will find information on quality control, specifications and construction sequences. The materials engineer has been provided with information that will allow the determination of the type and amount of stabilizers that are suitable for a particular soil.

The manual has not been written to endorse one type of a chemical stabilizer over another. Nor is it intended to provide the specific features of one manufacturer's products. Rather, it explains the general characteristics of chemical soil stabilization and offers a method for evaluating the benefits of chemical stabilization versus the conventional mechanical stabilization operations.

A thorough study of the manual should enable the engineer to recommend where, when and how soil stabilization should be used.
It may also act as an aid in solving problems that may arise on soil stabilization projects."

A wonderful story that tells about space, with humerous pictures of folks from each place. With the planets in trouble (the sun's on the move) they need a solution that all can approve. But working together you know that they'll find the solution's at hand if they just use their mind. You will learn about planets, you'll learn about heat, you'll learn that this marvelous book can't be beat. The author has written with humor and zest, of all that he's written, I can't say which one's best. But one thing's for certain, and this I can tell, you should go buy this book, cause my brother is swell.

Chang and Kelly have done a wonderful job simplifying a very crucial process in any environment that seeks to improve its operation. The book is short and very directive. I recommend it for any organization that wants to find ways to review its operation and implement changes that will have a positive impact. People are resources and have the ability to share their ideas to make things work more efficiently. I wish more of those contemporary self-help texts would follow this book's example by reducing their 200 to 300 page text to a 104-page workbook process like Chang's and Kelly's. This is a pragmatic approach that can be used immediately by any group.

A beautifully written monograph. Indeed, a model of the kind. We look forward to reading more from this Germanic author.

There is just nothing around like these guys. They are terrific!!! I never tire of them.

This book is like having a decade of therapy wrapped up into
192 pages. It really taught me so much about "LIFE"! I learned
more about myself than ever before, and I also found out how I
can improve my own life successfully -- simply by the way I look
at everything or everyone. I even learned about WHY people do
the things that they do, and I also found spiritual answers
[about GOD] too!

I have recommended this book to all of my friends...I even heard
that the author did the ENTIRE book by herself - with no outside
help - isn't that amazing? When you read the text, it feels as
if she is talking "directly" to you. When you get your copy,
you will see + hear exactly what I experienced!

This book is almost the same price of a CD, but it's worth every
penny + more! If you think about it, when you listen to an
album, that's ALL you get -- a temporary moment of "tunes" that
you probably don't play for the rest of your life...BUT if you
think about entertaining yourself with "education" like this
instead, your entire life changes for better, and everyone wants
a better life. I can finally say that I have one now!
