I studied this book for about 1 month and is giving me a clear understanding of the verbal part in the SAT. This will explain almost all of the stuffs you may need to know for your upcoming SAT as well as some tips. I highly recommend this book. Good luck on the test!

This guide is a beautifully put together resourse for all art lovers, students and museum professionals. It is extremely clear and easy to use. I found wonderful places to visit in my own backyard that I wasn't even aware of previously. I also can't wait to take my next trip to another part of the country and visit these wonderful museums! The guide is a real inspiration to get up and out to all of these great institutions.

This well researched book covers the work of Allan the Ridge
MacDonald and the background that inspired him. Much of the
first part deals with the man, his ancestors, and their stories.
The last part contains his songs both in Gaelic and English.
I enjoyed this book very much.

As a new university administrator, I found that this book provided excellent historical context for my daily work, and a useful set of concepts for reconceiving administration as a kind of educational reform. By transcending the conventional idea of the academic bureaucrat as an intellectual untouchable, someone whose caste is unclean but sadly indispensable for getting rid of those tough administrative stains, AS IF LEARNING MATTERED helped me to think of my job as a local node in a larger network of reform stretching into the past and across national boundaries. In this sense, it seems to be an invaluable resource. I hope that in the future, the author will consider extending his analysis to the connection between bureaucracy and more overt forms of activism like union organizing and international labor movements.

I was so pleased to stumble across this superb book. I didn't know about the Committee for Academic Freedom in Africa before but the essays collected here provide a penetrating and wide ranging critique of the damage that neo-liberalism is doing to the hopes that so many, in and out of the country, had for post-apartheid South Africa. There is also much here that is directly relevant to students and professors elsewhere in the world. Imperialism is, after all, everywhere.

I can recommend this book to anyone interested in South Africa and to anyone interested in university struggles under contemporary imperialism.

Dr. Maki's well-designed and well-documented investigation into what students are actually learning (rather than what the institutions expect them to have learned) is an important step in evaluating the efficacy of our colleges and universities.

Considering the money and time devoted to higher learning in this country, it's about time someone took a close look at the academic emperor's wardrobe.

This book was even more than I expected. It was everything I needed to know to obtain a scholoarship to a good school!

The author has quite obviously taken a great deal of time to examine how a student/athlete can obtain a scholarship. It is a must read for the senior at the high school level with a dream of attending a U.S. or Canadian college or university. It worked for me!

The author offers an new and alternative perspective for us to understanding the distance learners in cyberspace.Especilly,his address of the peers interaction is a vital point in the Internet age , and I appreciated his quality research.
