Coach David Arseneault's innovative philosophy and skill as a writer makes this a "must read" for all basketball coaches looking to add a spark to their program. His high octane offense and unique coaching style may change the game as we know it. Grinnell College sounds like a place I wish I could have played basketball.

Keep shooting those three's Coach Arseneault and write a sequel while you're at it!

It is nice to have an art project for my children that lets them be creative and use their imaginations instead of just filling in the lines.

I went ahead and bought this book, and really don't regret buying it. It's written in a first person perspective, which at first was alittle "different", but you get used to it quickly. John Eagle writes it from his own expierence, which is interesting, because the book would say something like this:
"At first, I started running 1-2 miles a day with my son. This really helped me build up my endurance". I liked his perspective much better because it related to you personally.

The book contains different sections after his narrative containing information on various aspects of running, for instance, pain. He talks about and lists all the various symptoms he expierenced while running. Another section was talking about tips about running. For example, always run next to the sidewalk in the grass rather than on it.

Overall, I loved this book, and would recommend it to ANYONE interested in running or becoming a runner.

Easy to read, easy to follow...

First a confession...I didn't use this book to run a half-marathon! I needed to strengthen my running for an olympic distance triathlon. The run is 10K. OK, shorter than a half-marathon, but I figured that after the swim and bike sections I would need to be strong for the run. Following the program from this book really helped, especially the hill work.

This book is well written and easy to follow. It begins with several chapters that discuss the basics such as buying a pair of running shoes (Very, very helpful and very important!), how to train and how to avoid/minimise injuries. It then offers six different training programs from beginner to competitive runner. The last section of the book gives a chapter to go along with that weeks training program. Very easy to follow, as I mentioned before.

One of the things I really like about the book is that it is not technical in any of its explanations. It is clear and concise. (Did I mention easy to follow?) An easy read, if you like?

I would recommend this book to anyone looking to complete a half-marathon. I have now signed up for the distance and will be using one of the programs.

An awesome tool for the walker or runner. The journal is divided into 2- 13 week sections, and includes both a running and walking schedules as well as a walk-run combo. Highly recommended.

Best running book I've seen yet

Kenny Moore is the real deal. Fourth in the Munich Olympic marathon doesn't happen by accident. This is a collection of pieces about various elite athletes Moore has met over the years.

Moore's insights are fascinating. "Best Efforts" gives you a glimpse of the minds of the elites. The piece on Ron Clarke, who would always take the race out hard because he thought it was dishonest to do anything else, is especially intriguing. I also enjoyed the articles on Mary Decker, the Experiment, and John Akii-Bua. Moore's writing about his own life experiences as a child, training under Bowerman and alongside Pre, and then in the Olympics, is equally enthralling.

A journal about bad language sounds like an exercise for teenage boys, at first, but this book proves otherwise. It's all about profanity in English and other languages, and it's fascinating stuff -- an interesting mirror on human nature. It makes the language come alive.

Maledicta, "the journal of verbal aggression", is a small journal edited by Reinhold Aman. You can read about Maledicta and Aman via google and Wikipedia. If you've ever wondered why our curses are phrased the way they are, read this book.

The Realistis episodic adventure in satire; and though some pages are not politically correct, you feel the sixties are not dead just underground. We get a lot of drug realted acticles mixed with facts realities of the sixties how exciting it was, how it felt, how it was to be a hippie.
