It will always be a Favorite! I Highly Recommend,"The Race," to anyone who may need a word of encouragement. I was touched, moved, and inspired. It's a Great Book!!

This is an exciting book that young and old, Black and White, executive and mailroom, or Blue collar and white collar workers can truly enjoy. It's great for a visual age like ours as it's full of page after page of lovely pictures and easily written so that it's user friendly and bursting with intrigue for all ages.
"The Race" kind of grows on you as you read it again and again. It's a great night time story for adults and children. Or find yourself reading it as an eye opener at a Boardroom meeting with executives.
It get's to the heart of these questions.
Does it really matter how you start?
or Matter if you WIN?
Does it matter how you run?
Or matter if you End?
This story is full of hope,
for those who've missed their way.
Or those who've given up long before,
the dawn of a new day.
Fight on and never quit,
Wipe the tear drops from your face!
It matters not whether you win or lose,
but if you're in "The Race".

Dee Groberg & Mac Anderson deserve a lot of credit for putting together this most informative book. It deals with a story all of us can relate to about being involved in a Race. You can learn some very important lessons from this book full of paradox and awesome ambiguity. Adults loved it and I've personally read it to over 55 children I mentor who all throught it was the bomb! You'll find it very thought provoking and worthy of giving to countless friends as a gift...it's cheaper than a McDonald's or Starbucks gift card with a longer shelf life less calories and no aftertaste. But please don't believe a word I'm saying get it and read it for yourself! I liked it so I'm giving it away.
Is there anything else I can do for you?
Your Servant,
Deremiah, *CPE

As a parent of a child whose imagination runs wild with ideas of building and designing moving gadgets this item was very much appreciated. Motors and wires and very well layed out instructions will intrigue anyone with a mind and love for robots. You don,t have to be a child to enjoy the ideas that are set forth here. Hooray !! Thumbs up to the developers of this product.

I built the robotic hand all by myself without help. It has red and blue pieces. The robotic hand grabs some things, but not everything. It worked better with rubber bands, which I added to my kit. It is really cool.

Turn of the century Edwardian erotica ....

HMMM .. another hidden classic that has been re-published by the Blue Moon Press.
For the followers of erotica the book purports to be Edwardina erotica but I believe that it's more like a crossover from Victorian to Edwardian .... What's the difference, well the Victorians just plain enjoyed sex in any and all it's forms, particularity, incestuous sex. The Edwardian, although they enjoyed sex there was less empasis on incest and also they much preferred to do it in secret. It's a much darker form of erotica and mostly geared to sexually mature players rather than very much younger set in the Victorian books...
In this story we follow the erotic life of Rosie from the age of 16 and follow her escapades as she romps her way through the monied gentry and other folks ...

There is a wide variety of consensual erotic escapades in this very enjoyable light-hearted tale which moves briskly from Rosie's initiation into "l'arte de faire l'amour" shortly after her sixteenth birthday. This is the first edition since its underground publication in Britain by "the friends of Venus and Priapus" in 1907 and well deserves a more general readership

Certainly better in my mind than volume II we get to experience what happens on those wonderfully anachronistic, today, weekend hunting trips that were so popular in England at the turn of the century.
Much like shown in British soap operas like Upstairs, Downstairs and Gosford Park, the wealthy certainly used these hunting trips for more than just hunting for foxes ... or should I say four legged foxes .. The elite did much much more than just let their hair down on these wonderfull trips ...

In this third volume of Rosie d'Argosse's deliciously explicit racy adventures, our lovely young diarist lays bare the secret lives of the English upper classes some one hundred years ago. Her erotic confessions show that she and her friends enjoyed many blissful hours spent in many varied acts of sexual intimacy and the only restraint was the Eleventh Commandment [Thou Shall Not Be Found Out]. Rosie's flashing eyes and sumptuous curves and above all her eagerness to experiment ensured she was never short of male or female partners. A hugely enjoyable romp full of (...) boys, pretty girls and mind-blowing sex!

This is one of the best books ever written on running training. I'm a masters athlete racing mile, 5k and 10k and I think I've just about read them all -- Brad's is the clearest breakdown of what you need to do, and when, that I have ever read.
If you've struggled with Daniels and Noakes (great though they are), this is the book for you. I predict you will finally understand what you are doing!
What I loved about Brad's book is that he can explain thing so simply. In his system/no system he's got 12 most effective training methods and three - yes just 3 - basic types of training. I love it.
System/no system? Yes; the book's plan is kind of interactive. Brad insists that your schedule MUST be individualized. You need to read, absorb, plan, try stuff out -- and adjust according to the feedback you get, not just blindly follow tables of speed and distances. He gives all the tools you need to work things out.
Bear in mind, too, that Brad is not coming at this from an academic/theoretical point of view, but is a highly successful coach currently training Olympic-level runners.
Totally recommended. A caveat for fellow masters runners: the typeface is small and sans serif. It's a 278-page book that should probably be twice that size with a more readable typeface. It's the only book I've read for months for which I've had to dig out my reading glasses!

There are only a few great running books out there, and no doubt is this book included onto petite list. This book really help gives you a better understanding of his philosophy of 'Adaptive Running'. The book is filled with great knowledge touching topics such as Aerobic Support, Muscle Training, Specific-Endurance Training, and etc. But it doesn't just stop there. It even touches the elements of running economy, power, fatigue resistance, self-assessment, training execution and Adaptive Training plan. If you want to help propel yourself to the next level in either an athlete, or a coach. This is the book for you!

Mike Schneider has the ability to bring delightful joy to a solitary and usually humorless sport. His keen sense of humor is subtle, dry, and second to none. I don't even run and I truly enjoyed the book. I look forward to his next entry.

Finally, a book for the runners! Schneider & Nassif have taken those oxygen-deprived insights we've all had and compiled them into one of the funniest and thought-provoking (yes, I said thought-provoking) book of cartoons ever published. I know I'll have their hilarious visions of "The Wall" to inspire me on my next marathon. If you are a runner, you will love this book!

I picked up this book at the perfect time and that is why I am giving it 5 stars. I originally got into running like a lot of people in high school as part of the cross country team. I only ran cross country as a way to get in shape for basketball season. After high school I stopped running and did not pick up the sport again until after my Step-father was diagnosed with cancer. He was a big time runner and had a 10 year streak of competing in a local 13.1 mile race. So I stepped in to run in his place to keep the streak alive. After his passing, I ran my first marathon in his memory and in the process found out a lot about myself. I have been running ever since, taking on 5K, 5 milers, halfs and marathons, all the while becoming more engrossed in the sport of running as well as the psychology behind it. As a child running is as natural as breathing, then at some point it became a chore and now it gives me the time and space I need to think in our modern world. This book simply shares the thoughts of others who have found similar insights from running. Happy trails.

This is one of the best books in the whole philosophy and pop culture genre.
For philosophers, the essays feel like they come very naturally out of the topic. They are wide-ranging but all grounded in running--no stretches to get the philosophy in. It's as effortless as a comfortable pace can be.
For runners, there is an informative development of ideas that you've probably started to have in your own running, but haven't seen through this far.

Alexis Chandler is a gemologist. She travels far and wide searching for diamonds and rare stones for her business. Lexie is on her way to Thailand to finally get her hands on the elusive Heart of Burma, a large, perfect cut ruby. In order to get it Lexie is partnered with Cole Bannon. Cole is sexy and attractive and their partnership is explosive right from the start. It's also riddled with danger, lies and deceit. Lexie can't trust Cole but she's slowly falling for him anyway.
Lexie knew finding the ruby would be difficult but she didn't know she would lose her heart and possibly her life in the process.
With sexual tension so thick you could cut it with a knife and steadily growing suspense and danger, Running For Cover keeps the pages turning fast. On one hand Cole is handsome, sexy and irresistible but on the other he lies through out most of the book. Lexie is very cool. She's beautiful, tough and capable. Although the story ended before I was ready for it to because I wanted to see Cole and Lexie removed from it all, Running For Cover is a very engaging and well-written story.

Michelle Spring has a wonderful talent for handling dark and challenging subjects in a way that is not depressing or grim. In Running for Shelter, she tackles the subject of slavery in modern England with a deft hand. What I love best about this series is the keen appreciation Spring has for English culture. Every phrase, every description illuminates in some way, without being overdone, and the overall portrait of the country and culture is an authentic and even-handed one. She has written about a newsworthy and frightening topic without getting on a soapbox or digressing into lectures. This is an entertaining and suspenseful mystery that will also leave you wondering about what "civilization" really means.

London private investigator Laura Principal, co-owner of the Aardvark
Investigation Agency, has more than enough to do in both her personal and
professional lives. Her partner and lover, Sonny Mendlowitz, is pressuring
the gun-shy Laura for a deeper commitment. Her best friend Helen wants her to
stay more often at their jointly owned cottage in the country. Finally, her
workload is just about to the point of massive overload. Yet when a Filipino
girl, who works for one of Laura's clients, mysteriously disappears, Laura is
compelled to learn what happened to her.
.....The investigation initially appears doomed to failure when her clients. the
Butlers, deny any knowledge of the missing girl. Luckily, Laura finds a
neighbor who disputes the Butlers' claim and witnessed the girl being
forcibly taken from her employer's house. By the time the missing girl's body
is found, Laura has amassed an array of suspects who could have done the
deed. As Laura digs further into finding the murderer, she places her life
and the lives of two innocents on the line.
......Laura is a fascinating woman of the nineties, confident in her ability to
perform her job even though it can turn dangerous without a warning. Still
she is uncertain in her personal life. Michelle Spring makes her heroine come
alive and, in doing so, has the audience rooting for her every step of the
way. Running for Shelter is a cozy British police procedural, long on
investigation, but short on action. It is a cerebral mystery that challenges
and entertains the reader quite nicely.
