NASCAR driver Jake Henson takes refuge near the White River in Arkansas Ozarks National Forest; he is physically recovering from a boating accident that left him injured and his best friend dead. Next door to the cabin he borrowed is Stacy Carter, and her Yorkie Oscar; she borrowed her brother's cabin to escape the media who have made her, daughter of a notorious politician, into an amazon because she disarmed a thief.

Oscar introduces the temporary neighbors to one another. Each is instantly attracted, but both hides their history from one another as he believes she detests publicity and she assumes he will detest her roots. Besides this is a short fling in the hills. Neither expected love to meet them at the finish line, but though they must reveal what they concealed, they fear the relationship will end once the checkered flag is dropped.

ALMOST FAMOUS is a fun contemporary romance starring two celebrities taking a respite from fame. Jake and Stacy are likable characters while Oscar is cute as he believes he is a raging Doberman. Fans will enjoy the story of two people hiding critical parts of their résumés from their beloved.

I throughly enjoyed this book. Barney gives several humorous tales from his years as an MRN broadcaster as well as close calls while on the job. This book is a great read and a must for any race fan. I just hope we can get him to stay on the radio a few more years. THERE IS NO ONE LIKE BARNEY HALL!!!!

I like this book, and that is my opinion. You can think what you want to but I am an avid Racing Fan/Dale Jr. fan and I think this book is perfect for anyone!

Upon entering our home it was the first thing our one year grandson went for. He would sit forever, looking at the pictures. He knows where to push the tires to get the sounds. He also is content with having the book read to him. He could recognize Dale on when watching racing.

The book chronicles Dodge's return to stock car racing and gives a comprehensive look at what it takes to start fresh and mount a full-scale assault on the Winston Cup series. The book has beautiful color pictures on heavy glossy paper and also has a few pages in the back for autographs.

This is a very entertaining "easy read". I would recommend this to all NASCAR fans.

This book is full of magnificent photos, on the history of the nascar.
For a Frenchman as I, who do not speak English, this is very well.
In France it is very dificile of informed on the race of nascar, and if the publishers(editors) Amércain, could publish us French publishing of their books we would be delighted.
