The book "The Seventeen Guide To Sex and Your Body is based on the columm "Sex and Body" from seventeen magazine. The first section of the book talks about various topics such as : shaving, birth control, your peroid and body odor. It even includes a part about what boys go through. The second half of the book is the thousands of letters Seventeen gets from their readers every month. This is a approite book for a teenage girl who wants to learn what changes her body will go through over the next 4 to 5 years. Ages 11-17.

Being a doctor and a teen counselor, I found The Sex Book to be extremely helpful when educating young adults. The tone is measured without being preachy, and the topics exhaustive. Whether a teenager is already having sex, or only thinking about it, I recommend this book as a resource for complete, non-judgemental information about sex.

This is a classic historical work in the sexualty education field by Lester Kirkendall, who taught what is believed to be the first undergraduate course in human sexuality in the USA, at Orregon State College in 1960. A co-founder of the Sex Information and Education Council of the United States, Kirkendall's contributions to early efforts at bringing sex education to the public are significant. This book details Kirkendall's pioneering work in developing teaching methods in sex education. It provides a rationale for such teaching, emphasizing the goal of building positive relationships.

I bought this book just for some ideas on how to change how I did shared reading. Even though this book is for younger students, I used it many times with my fourth graders.

The book has a set of well-written essays that cover a range of topics. The essays also have good bibliographies. The book is dated 1995, but still seems completely relevant -- I just hope they do a year 2000 version. Highly recommended for people thinking about, or designing products, that are intended to increase student learning.

Undoubtedly the most important work on string teaching published in the past 20 years. Hamann and Gillespie give concise tips and comprehensive aid to the teacher of the string orchestra class. Covering beginner to advanced, the work is thorough and will continue to be useful for years to come. As a former Don Hamann student, I can say the only thing better is a class from the authors!

The best from this book is the idea to let the industry people to understand the importance of the arts for the job scenario. Mr. Fowler is very focused and well centered in his proposal. As an educator-artist, I have been talking about the same idea but few understand the point; the idea of pushing the arts and it's uniqueness to the academic structure can be a self destructive idea. Let's open our minds and put the effort where it's neccessary. Just read and follow the instructions!

Teaching has always been a tuff profession and when you add a poor principal to the mix, the job can be almost unbearable. Glickman, et al have presented the clinical supervision model in a very earthy, hands-on manner. The examples are true to life and the chapter questions are thought provoking and right on the money. This is one book you will keep when your program is done and I'm sure you will come back to it over and over.

This is the perfect book for the long road of Suzuki's philosophy of developing a child's potential.

The Suzuki method is clearly delineated in Volume One of this instructional series and has many distinct advantages to more traditional beginner method books. Its multicultural approach allows the student to immediately appreciate the international appeal of this instrument. Many practical methods are used that do an excellent job integrating familiar tunes, classical tunes and simple etudes in an exciting way. One of the best features includes the use of the audio CD with piano accompaniment. This CD is an exact rendition of the short piece in the book but with a simple piano accompaniment. The student can listen and "read" the music with the CD or practice it alone with Volume One.

The approach is holistic and facilitates rapid integration of the written sheet music with fingerings and tempos while keeping the beginner student glued to each new piece. It also is an excellent preparation for classical flute playing and advances students more quickly using simple and practical techniques.

The Suzuki Flute Method Volume One will be a memorable introduction to the sounds of a great instument.
