Well done, gave me a full understanding of the subject, very well written, great book to quote.

This is an excellent text for use with undergraduate and graduate level courses in the history of art education. I have used both this and Efland's texts. Efland's text is very comprehensive and appropriate for doctoral students, but a bit too dense for less advanced students, This text provides a balanced foundation for students of all post-secondary levels. It may be supplemented with additional readings from journals and with other materials by Wygant Foster to provide concise overview of the topic.

This text works well with Foster Wygant's School Art in American Culture 1900 to 1970. I use the books together in courses for undergraduate and graduate level art education students. It serves as an excellent supplementary resourcel.

Arthur L. Costa's THE SCHOOL AS A HOME FOR THE MIND: CREATING MINDFUL CURRICULUM, INSTRUCTION, AND DIALOGUE tells how to foster thinking in an educational environment, and uses the author's most recent research and theory to support insider tips in curriculum mapping, teaching behaviors, and performance standards. It's a collection educators will find even more invaluable, appearing in its second updated edition.

very good and difficult book for advanced students, works with shifting, 4th finger, second position ect. speed and agility are key in many of these exercises. intonation is difficult to master but if one can through this book they will be a better player for it. higly recommended

I was a student of Dr. Joseph Schmmuckler (one of the authors) at Haverford Senior High School when he first started developing the techniques described in this book. At that time he was developing the experiments for the new Chem Study Text Book for high school. I had the privilege of being among a small group of students who worked directly with him on these experiments. This team also worked with him through the summer and visited a variety of laboratories. We learned how to learn real science from a real scientist and a fantastic teacher of both other teachers and students.

Among his favorate sayings "Chance favors the prepared mind ..." (attributed to L. Pasteur) was an integral part of everything we learned by actually living through the discovery process. The years that I spent learning science with him were the best preparation I could have had for life after high school!

This book is an essential element for teaching science in high school as a foundation for whatever follows.

The book "The Seventeen Guide To Sex and Your Body is based on the columm "Sex and Body" from seventeen magazine. The first section of the book talks about various topics such as : shaving, birth control, your peroid and body odor. It even includes a part about what boys go through. The second half of the book is the thousands of letters Seventeen gets from their readers every month. This is a approite book for a teenage girl who wants to learn what changes her body will go through over the next 4 to 5 years. Ages 11-17.

Being a doctor and a teen counselor, I found The Sex Book to be extremely helpful when educating young adults. The tone is measured without being preachy, and the topics exhaustive. Whether a teenager is already having sex, or only thinking about it, I recommend this book as a resource for complete, non-judgemental information about sex.

This is a classic historical work in the sexualty education field by Lester Kirkendall, who taught what is believed to be the first undergraduate course in human sexuality in the USA, at Orregon State College in 1960. A co-founder of the Sex Information and Education Council of the United States, Kirkendall's contributions to early efforts at bringing sex education to the public are significant. This book details Kirkendall's pioneering work in developing teaching methods in sex education. It provides a rationale for such teaching, emphasizing the goal of building positive relationships.
