This book is filled with easy to implement ideas for both home and school to help children who have difficulty with memory, memorization and numerous related tasks. I have only one copy of it and am constantly loaning it out to parents and special educators. My copy is pretty frayed. This book is the best most comprehensive guide I have come across that tackles memory concerns head on.

As an elementary music educator in the 21st Century it becomes ever more important that we be considered viable. This book will help you to focus your music curriculum for your town, district, or County. Elements of the National Standards are included with many ideas how to implement them. A must have for all music educators in the Public Schools.

For me, the biggest eye-opener from reading this book was just how different the beliefs are, even within different Christian denominations -- even concerning something as seemingly innocent as prayer. The history of the violence between denominations in America was eye-opening, too.

It made me realize that while it's nice to have the whole "God is good, God is great" thing reiterated at school, there's no way I would want my son's religious understanding influenced by the theology of whichever public school teacher he happened to be assigned to that year. A religious education is something to be provided at home and at church, not at school. (Unless you'd like to specifically send your child to a religious school, which is your choice.) This book really made me understand why this is so important, and I fear my review doesn't do it nearly justice enough.

Free-Choice Science Education: How We Learn Science Outside Of School is a seminal, college-level collection of discussions on the extent and scope of science learning in America, with particular attention to learning outside the traditional educational system. Under the able editorship of John Falk, essays by different individual authors discuss the absorption of scientific information from such sources as early childhood TV viewing, the value of infrastructure in free-choice science learning, and much more. High-level social and educational issues are thoroughly explored in this intriguing, insightful, thought provoking title.

was very interseting and informative. Not so much with how to preform but it had lots of information on the history on dance, how to take care of your things, healthy eating advice and more. But best of all it was enjoyable to read.

this catalogue and the exhibition that accompanied it offer a brilliantly argued, revisionist account of the post-1919 work of giorgio de chirico, who remains one of the most important and influential artists of the 20th century. overturning decades of negative opinion regarding the paintings that de chirico made after the first world war, when he abandoned his earlier metaphysical style, michael taylor convincingly argues that the artist continued to create highly interesting and often thought provoking works of art. taylor uses the theme of the myth of ariadne, which runs throughout de chirico's long career, as a lens by which to explore the diverse range of stylistic changes that the artist underwent in response to external factors such as the return to order movement espoused by his friend jean cocteau. i would heartily recommend this book to anyone interested in the history of modern art, especially surrealism and metaphysical painting, which has been forever changed by this superb account.

I used a much older edition of this book in high school (it had a brown cover way back then). This text was good suppliment to the hands-on projects we did in class. It taught about art basics like types of meduim, technique, and touched on artists, famous works, and how to look at art. This is a great text to ensure students develop and hold an interest, love and understanding of art.

This weighty, oversized paperback is a bargain for any new to the sport or seeking remedial instruction in book form: chapters provide an excellent introduction to everything from equipment to rules of the sport, strokes, and match strategies. The step-by-step full-page photo examples are exhilarating.
