i enjoyed this book. i was in the book store one day and it caught my eye so i flipped through it, and i'm glad i did. its about a little girl who comes from korea and moved to north america. she goes to school and doesn't want to tell the class her name because it is different, so she says she doesn't have a name, so her classmates make a name jar for her and put in names that she can use. then she gets a letter from her grandmother who is still in korea saying how much she loves her and in the letter was a seal with her name on it. after getting this she is once again proud of her name and goes back to school and tells her class mates her real name and what it means (i apologize if i got some of the details mixed up it was a while back that i read it). this book was a tear jerker for me. i'm not korean, nor have i had major problem with my name (though people often mispronounce it when reading it), but the struggle for the acceptance of one's self and one's own difference in comparison to others is something we all go through, and this story successfully displays that struggle and overcoming that struggle in a simple way. i think its a good way to get children to understand that though they are different, they will be accepted by someone, and opens them up to other cultures at the same time. worth the read.

Unhei is starting school in America. Although she has a lovely Korean name that means "grace," she thinks maybe she would like a more American sounding name. Her classmates make a name jar and offers suggestions. This story is affirming of the multicultural experience. When Unhei complains about her name, saying that she doesn't want to be different, her mother counters, "You are different, Unhei....That's a good thing!" Choi superbly illustrates her own story. The characters, though simply painted, have expressive faces.

It's not the easiest pick for a second language learner one year into English. It's a longer text and not patterned and predictable. But what it offers is something very tangible, the experience of going into a new cultural context, experiencing school, having a name that is loved and chosen by family and then confronting others who tease you for it, also encounter those unable to pronounce your name and seem unable within their context to respect your name as who you are and value its meaning. At least at first.

So my class had the legs to listen as Unhei's story was told.They know the feeling. She comes from Korea with a block wrapped in silk that says her name(from Grandmother). She highly values this block and all it represents. On her first bus trip to school which she is doing alone(hum) she is teased about her name and feels the sting of total humiliation by students on the bus. At school she does not reveal her name and that piece where teacher assists and does reveal it oddly blanks out. I accept the need for this in the tale, but it's just not exactly what happens. In time students bring in a jar to hold suggested names for her, they are concerned about a nameless girl.She can't explain her fear of rejection of her name either of course.It's too complex and too personal. Meanwhile she is sharing at home that she wants an "American name" which is distressing to her mom. She considers the names and makes an American friend who eventually overhears her true name at the Korean Market. I suppose I expected the friend to out her, but he just takes her jar away and after an exhaustive search she shares her real name, how it looks from her chop and she and her friend are on their way to understanding. A few things about respect for school, writing systems are shared from the perspective of a Korean child, but not as much as I expected.
Why this story was appropriate today for our class was simple, my student teacher had shared the meaning of his name. Both parts of his name are to me hard to pronounce and they have interesting meanings. Unhei's name means "grace". That's an interesting concept to talk to children about all around. Anyway I felt I wanted to return to what he shared about the "meaning" of names and will follow up tomorrow by looking at the student names and what they mean, how they say them. Refining our ear and our respect for each person.Also I sent letters home for parents to explain why they chose their child's name. At the beginning of the year we learn to read and write all our names and this extends that into the part that allows me to personalize and help create respect for one another. I think the book is a quiet one, as relevant for dominant culture as those that experience name issues at the hands of those speaking in the dominant tongue but through good instruction it serves all students in consideration of the importance of respect for honoring the first gift we really are given after life, our name.

Yangsook (Rachel) Choi has written AND illustrated another illuminating book. Unhei has moved from South Korea with her family to America; she has brought her clothes, bags, and a name "chop" stamp from her grandmother. Her schoolmates cannot pronounce her name on the bus, so she doesn't reveal her name to her classmates. Is it good to be different? Should she embrace her difference? In America she can still eat seaweed and kimchi; she can shop at Kim's Market and Fadil's Falafel. But maybe a name of Amanda, Miranda, Daisy, or Tamela would be better than Unhei (Yoon-hye). The kids at school put name suggestions in a jar on her desk, but on the day she will choose her name, the jar has disappeared. Who took it? What will Unhei decide to do? Did Mr. Cocotos her teacher have a hand in this? Will all the kids want to choose a new name? A must read for every elementary school.

I love this book because it reinforces the idea that people have a right to their given names and that they have a right to expect people to learn how to pronounce them. I work with many Chinese, Korean and Japanese students and it is common for these kids to feel the obligation to change their name, allow teachers and students mispronounce them if they do use their given names, and their parents often tell them to get used to it rather than teaching them to assert themselves and expect people to learn how to pronounce them. If the child feels that they have a right to their name, the keep it, teach people how to pronounce it and feel better about themselves. If they change it, the given name still pops up on paperwork, people still mispronounce it and they are always trying to hide it away before it pops up again. Accepting your name and teaching people how to pronounce it, provides people with empowerment and a sense of some control over their lives. It helps a lot in the acculturaltion process.

Sabrina the teenage witch competes in a witch's spelling bee(a spell-casting contest)and her prize is a reality check(a cheque she can cash in to change any event of her choice)Only problem is that EVERYTHING is going wrong so how is a girl to decide what to change?!!!!!!!!!!Life's hard!

This is a pretty good book.On this book Sabrina competes in the Other Realm spelling bee,wins and gets a Reality Check!But Aunt Hilda and Zelda are under a 24 hour time-release spell witch is causing a disruption in their lives!To learn more just read the book!

Reality Check (Sabrina The Teenage Witch)is a great book. I could read it over and over again. It's fun reading about all the trouble that she gets herself into, and how she gets herself out of it. It's fun and easy to read. Everybody should read it.

in the end she used it wisely though. it was a great read. the ending of this book was mind boggling. it was too good a read. She finally uses the check to save - nah fooled you. I am not 1 bit interested in spoiling your read. so i suggest you to buy this book which is another great book added in this great series.lllooooovveeeeellllyyyy.Got to read it

This book was completely a breath taking addition to this sereis.Tooooooooo coooooooool. Sabrina wins the national spelling bee and the first prize is a REALITY CHECK. but she doesn't have a single idea on where to use it. because her spelling bee prize has her world abuzz. Finally, she uses it in the right way - by using it to save - no no no i don't want to spoil your read . The ending was a little dissapointing though. anyway the style of writing was great . Diana.G.Gallagher is by far one of my favourite Sabrina authors.Keep up the good work!

This book shows how the liberals run the media and all radio talk shows. It is very clear to me when I turn on the radio and hear nothing but liberal talk. I am so sick and tired of this, but now Mr. Farah shows me why this has happened. He shows how all liberals hate God and country.

Mr. Farah shows, in detail, how Bush won the greatest military victory in history in Iraq, thus saving the world from destruction by a madman. He proves that only conservatives can save the world and take back America!

Joseph Farah (founder of WorldNetDaily) takes the reader through a smooth and easy to read history of the current mainstream/lame-stream/established media. Farah explains in detail how the established media has become the way the are and why they have lost so much credibility and why they are losing credibility on daily basis.

Before reading this book there was not much respect for any news media. After reading this book it (and it is an easy read) quite a bit of respect for the "true" function of the news media has been restored.

Farah is honest about himself, who he is, what he has done in the past good or bad.

Everybody, not just Americans, should read this book! I dare say that a lot of Americans will learn a lot while reading it. Non Americans might be jealous once they learn how the government and the news media was meant to be in the US.

One book that must be read and understood to help save our Country! Joseph Farah (WorldNetDaily founder) takes the reader through the history of the mainstream/left biased/established media. Mr. Farah explains in detail how the established media has become the way they are and why they have lost so much credibility. This is an important read that exlains first hand the abuse of power that takes place towards citizens of the United States when the left is in power. Never has there been a more important time to read and understand this book with the elections approaching.

Joseph Farah takes us on his journey to make a major contribution and a lasting difference in our free press. In the process, he reminds us what the true purpose of a free press in a free society has always been: to serve as a watchdog to government; to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable. He demonstrates the importance of the press as a fourth estate, which helps the people hold the government accountable, while also pointing out the flaws in the modern trend of "fair and balanced" news.

The author leaves no doubt that he is indeed a Christian, but he does very well in calling attention to the unfairness of labeling himself or WorldNetDaily as "conservative" or "right-wing." While the viewpoints in the publications of WND do resemble more what you might expect to read in early America, versus our increasingly postmodern America, this is simply traditional. That is, after all, the entire point of this book: to tell the tale of the New Media Revolution, and all the while call us back to a proper understanding of our free press in this free society; an understanding that is unfortunately absent in the big indoctrinating press of today.

Given the nature of the book, I believe that freedom loving Americans the world over should appreciate this book; and with a wonderful endorsement from Rush Limbaugh right on the back cover, this book is especially hallowed for Americans with conservative sympathies.

This should be required reading for all journalism students, professors, writers, editors and anyone interested in being more informed about the direction media is taking. It is a must read.

My niece is separated from her husband and going through a divorce. This is a difficult time for her and her two young children. I had recommended Surviving Separation and Divorce to her as a great resource and to offer her some guidance during this difficult time, knowing the author had experience some of the same situations as my niece.

Last week my husband came home and out of the blue announced he was leaving me. I was shocked, devistated, angry, hurt...you name it. Right away my friends and family were there to support me and help me realize that I'm better off without this man. I deserve someone better. I read this book in two days and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I'm in for a rough time ahead but I know that in the long run my life will be so much happier! I recomend this book to anyone facing the pain of separation or divorce.

I must correct Tim McWeeney who writes that this is a book about taking an ex husband for all he's worth. He DIDN'T READ the book. He couldn't have. It says so right up front in the introduction, and throughout the text. For all I read (and I'm half-way through it, at least), it's a great support for women reeling in shock when separation is forced upon them. And I see in the table of contents there is indeed information about reconciling a marriage as a possible outcome.

If you only judge a book by its cover, you're missing out. You won't be disappointed if you read this book, I assure you. I know the author is appearing locally at my nearest bookstore soon. I'm looking forward to learning more.

You know, when you are alone suddenly and scared, not to mention disillusioned by all you thought you had that really wasn't, it's really comforting to read a book that puts you at ease. That's what I felt reading Ms. Oberlin's book. It was just the right balance of empathy, friendly support, and facts you need to know to make better decisions during this difficult time. The chapter on learning to laugh was very welcome too. I'd recommend for all women facing this and plan to buy one as a gift for a friend I know who is still struggling with a separation and pretty ugly divorce.

This book is a great support to women, definitely no signs of being anti-male. From from a caring perspective, I appreciated the hope of reconciliation offered, and yet the firm advice on what life might look like ahead, carving out a new future for myself. Really enjoyed the lawn care humor and the chapter about lightening up during such a stressful time. In fact, I'm buying an extra copy for a friend whose marriage is in turmoil. It may help her make better decisions, too. Thanks much!

Danna Beal explores issues close to anyone's heart who is of working age and is working! Ms. Beal, who spends much of her time traveling the country talking to professional groups as well as doing work with companies, asserts that each of us have an essence of who we are, hidden underneath the protective layer of our ego. This essence is fundamentally protected by the ego, but that which protects it actually suppresses it. We are then, ego driven, forced to play our role at work. This role requires that we are the star of the show and feel powerful by doing things like gossiping or not taking responsibility for our actions.

Although "Tragedy" is billed as a business book, I found it to be of a profoundly spiritual nature, which would help anyone with relationships of all kinds, e.i., business, family, and personal. In particular, I enjoyed the uplifting nature of the book, wherein the author took the high ground when it came to discussing sensitive issues, and no vulgarity or unseemly discussions were utilized, but at the same time anyone should have been able to relate the principles taught to their own situations, of whatever nature. In other words, Danna communicated well without resorting to the lowest common denominator, as is prevalent in much of today's writings. I was specifically impressed with the teachings of principles regarding: Synergism to achieve worthwhile goals, Focus on our spiritual cores which have unlimited potential, Accepting personal responsibility for results, How to break out of self-imposed prisons, Recognizing the spiritual nature of our fellow beings, An excellent treatment of the power of forgiveness - both for yourself and others, and The problems associated with judging. Reading Danna's book, reminded me of a phrase I have been using for years: "There are no rewards and no punishments, only consequences." Like this thoughtful book, it is apparent that its author, Danna Beal is a winner.

and you can clearly get her message that runs through- out the book.What I found most helpful was she defines the ambiguous game playing and ego roles that go on in a work enviroment. You can by reading this book get a birds eye view of this -process- and build your confidence knowing these people are trapped in roles they may not even be aware of but with this book you have insight and awareness to rise above it and see your own ego at work-this book is freedom.Rather than feel slighted next time by a co-worker keep in mind this person is trying to live up to some primetime expectation-and its your job to help them live it because corporate culture is full of these hopeless gyrating pychopaths-my opinion-but on a kinder note once -u-instill this authors advise into yourself your human essence of compassion will transfer nonvebally-real confidence-to your co-worker and they will begin to relate to you from the same level.Although big ego's can be intertaining they often follow unconcious and unreal ambitions blindly-only to end up as lonely lost souls on death beds chasing desperate gods and expiring in teriffied last gasps.My advise is find a talent and to discover that you need to know who you are and that takes looking at yourself from a dynamic perspective because what you are looking for you will never see but only glimpse.Once your remove your status expectations about your primetimed self your talent will surface and lead you to prosperity. The book is filled with insight and revelations. Garry's anecdotes are too humorous to miss. How did they come up with the famous opening for LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY? How did he come to cast Robin Williams and Pam Dawber in MORK & MINDY? Despite budget restraints, Garry was able to create a very memorable opening for Bette Midler in the film BEACHES. It's fascinating to read how Garry created some of our most beloved TV shows and films. When a problem arose with a production, Garry found a solution. He never hestitates to admit to his failures and mistakes and never fails to give credit to others who have supported him. WAKE ME WHEN IT'S FUNNY is inspiring and a great motivator for anyone trying to aspire in any field...not just TV or film. This book is a joy! Garry Marshall is a fine writer of jokes for stand-up comedians of yore, sitcoms &, apparently, of full-length show biz autobiographies. He discusses his life in an extremely entertaining way. His asides - about moviemaking, camerawork & tips on the directing/producing process - are enjoyable for everyone, not just aspiring filmmakers. There are (truly) laugh out loud sections as well (Two Words: Kathi Wathi)...this is a man who seems to live his life with passion & decency & drive, ALWAYS with the added bonus of humor. Yes, he dishes the "dirt" about his celeb peers, but in a completely non-malicious way. Best of all, here's a man who accomplishes much but doesn't take himself too seriously. Good-humored, good-hearted, crisply written & hilarious. Can't recommend this book highly enough!

Pretty Woman has been my favorite movie since I saw in in the theater at the age of fifteen and since then Garry Marshall has been my favorite director. But Garry proved what a great person he is when I attended a book signing for this book back in 1995. I was only twenty, and pretty much the only young woman in line. Most of the people in line were young men giving him treatments, which really disgusted me. But when I finally got up there I just stared at him, the first thing he said to me was that I was very pretty, so I started crying like the girl that I am. He held my hands and just smiled at me, and I told him that Pretty Woman was my favorite movie and thanked him for making it and told him that I wanted to be an actress, so he signed my book "Andrea a very Pretty Woman here's hoping you Happy Days as an actress." that made me cry as well:) His daughter Lori was also very sweet which just proves what a great dad he is as well.

As for the book, of course it's fabulous! You get to learn behind the scenes info on, of course Pretty Woman, but all his other shows and movies as well. His sense of humor cracks me up, especially when he overheard someone talking about Exit To Eden saying "That movie was so bad he doesn't deserve to be Penny Marshalls father!" I laughed SOO hard at that. Not to mention that you can't help but love a director who thanks his wife at the end of every one of his films.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know the ends and outs of the entertainment industry from a vetern who knows what he's talking about!:)

A most amazing book about a most amazing man. Follow Mr. Marshall's assertive and generally hilarious approach to breaking into the world of comedy writing - and beyond. The book is a bit of a family affair (forward by sister Penny Marshall, and co-authored by daughter, Lori) chronicling his often hysterical trek from an allergy-laden childhood to the life of a very successful actor, writer, producer, and director. I've had the unique pleasure of meeting this man in person, and he truly is as determined, grounded and compassionate a man as this book reflects...all with that sparkling sense of humor!

I used to think I was in love with Garry Marshall because of his films and sitcoms, but now it's because he's truly a fine person. Read the book and I think you'll agree. If you're a screenwriter thinking about writing for sitcoms, this should be required reading. I'm more of a spec writer, so I just enjoyed the stories and laughs. This is a story of one of the most successful people in Hollywood and more importantly, a good father, brother, son, and grandfather.

The book provides many useful stages to work through that sets your life into a pathway that pleases yourself and breaking away from being a people pleaser & forgetting what one's own dreams are.
The book does this in a pleasing gentle way & it is also where many woman are after family have grown & one's life's work seems to be over but we ask what now ...
Loved A Year by The Sea by the same author.

Women have had it especially hard for many centuries. Only in the last 100 years in North America have we been able to be ourselves. However, through social dictation ... women fall prey to living for others. This is a fascinating account of how to bring back one's self after many years of being lost in others' agendas.

Joan Anderson, the gifted author of "A year by the sea" and "A walk on the beach" has written yet another book that speaks to the heart and soul of every woman who has reached a crossroads in her life.

This book is an outline of her weekend retreats at Cape Cod. In it she shares not only her program and thoughts, but also the experiences of participants and exercises that the reader can do at home. The exercises are more than thought provoking (never ending crossroads), revealing (the calendar exercise), and renewing (The self and others circle). They are indeed the road map back to your true and authentic self.

If you have gone through a divorce, death, loss of job, empty nest, or are just wondering 'what next?' this book is an invaluable compass to aid you in seeing options and new directions. To quote her dear friend Joan Erickson, "We do not receive wisdom - we discover it for ourselves after a journey through the wilderness."

Joan Anderson does not seek to give you the answers, but to help you discover the questions within yourself. Her writing is encouraging, honest and perhaps most important, heartfelt. You can't go wrong buying this book for yourself or as a gift for a friend.

I'm not a big fan of self-help books and am pretty cautious in my response to readings like this. A Weekend to Change Your Life, however is one of the true exceptions I've had the pleasure to read. The author is not preaching or in any way a know-it-all but she challenges very basic feelings and emotions in each and every person, whether we admit to them or not. And in going thru her exercises we are drawn into trying her suggestions and digging deep into our souls to see why we do so many of the things we do. The author has deep, deep respect for the uniqueness and value of every emotion and individual. She doesn't judge or ever try to criticize or downgrade. She teaches us acceptance and deeper understanding of whatever is causing our innermost private thoughts and feelings. It's truly a treasure and one that I highly recommend for every woman, no matter how old. I readily admit that one of the feelings I deal with most often is that "I'm too old; I'm 73 years old; I'd like to do this or that, but I don't have enough time left to start now, etc." Nonsense! Joan Anderson has prompted me to try, even at this ripe old age to at the very least try and to live each day left to maximum fullillment and satisfaction. !

It is a sad reality that so many people have their identities molded by the wants and needs of others. And I think that few would dispute that this is more likely to happen to women. There are powerful social and perhaps biological reasons why this might be. But the important point is that there are millions of people who are not fulfilling their potential. And there are many men who are stuck in the same bind.

We are all combinations not just of male and female biology but also of a set of identities that together form our sense of self. There is very good evidence that the female sense of self is closely related to her relationships, while the male sense of self is usually more closely linked to achievement. Though there are clearly personal and cultural variations, the implication is that most men and most women will likely find different techniques of healing and integration to be effective for each of them.

This is a terrific book in which Joan Anderson shares some of the exercises and activities that she has developed to encourage change and growth. One of her models is based on the work of the German-born psychoanalyst Erik Erikson, who delineated eight stages of life from infancy to old age. Joan suggests listing the gains and losses from each phase in order to help us identify our personal strengths. This is a fine example of drawing strength from the natural reversals that we all experience and using them to develop resilience. She also guides us to other exercises and techniques that make very good sense, and some of which I've found very useful, despite having a Y-chromosome!

So while designed to help women, this is also a book for men who want or need to learn more about their feminine nature, and who care about the women in their lives.

This is a book that is practical, wise and compassionate.

Highly recommended.

Al Tompkins scores with a practical guide to make pictures and words compelling, even for a novice TV reporter.

Al Tompkins just gave a great presentation at RTNDA on how to find information on the internet. The seminar was filled with humor, insight, and just plain useful information. This book has a similar feel, like advice from someone who wants you to succeed. If a lot of young people read this book (along with some older journalists), perhaps journalism won't be in quite the spot it finds itself in.

I've worked as a tv reporter for nearly 21 years...16 years in Portland, Oregon. This is by far one of the very best books I've read on the art of writing for tv news. I found it useful after reading the very first page. Tompkins uses clear, concrete examples to illustrate his points which instantly made me a better writer. Its refreshing to think about our craft with new insight on the purpose and focus of each story. I've urged all the producers and reporters in our newsroom to get and read this!

I purchased this book to help teach high school students how to write for broadcast, and the lessons Tompkins gives are valuable for students and professionals. Tompkins shows the process behind the writing and the factors a reporter should consider, such as when less writing is more. The book is funny, entertaining, and touching at the same time. He gives many specific examples, including exerpts from scripts, that show the detail and the planning behind the writing. It changes the viewer's perspective on the television news, and it certainly could help professionals refine their writing for broadcast.

Mr. Tompkins' book was the reason I got my first job coming out of college. The first two stories I put on my resume tape were heavily influenced by the things I read in 'Write for the ear, shoot for the eye, aim for the heart.'

Al explains things so that you not only understand how to do the things we do, but also why we do the things we do. I still keep the book on my desk, and whenever my reporting gets into a rut, I haul out Al's book and re-read it. My next few stories are always better than my last few stories.

The book is implemental to the collections of book lovers everywhere. I'm the same age as the author and I have not even half the amount of stories he has to tell. And, I don't even have half the amount of hair. WOW! What a book!

Nobody captures the essence of society's colorful characters like O'Shaughnessy. His perspectives on freedom of speech and The First Amendment are inspirational.

William O'Shaughnessy is everything we love about the Irish. He's irreverent, colorful, warm, and kind. This collection of radio editorials would be worth far more than its price if you were to receive only pages 61-64 for your money. (Think of the other 387 excellent pages as coming "at no extra charge.")

I was conducting a seminar in Manhattan for the great Joe Riley when I was introduced to Bill. I gave him a copy of my latest book and he gave me a copy of his, this (just released) Airwaves. I wasn't expecting much... but then I'm an idiot.

William O'Shaughnessy beggared America by limiting his radio commentary to Westchester County, New York. He should have been a network anchor.

Even though the book has a somewhat regional "New York" flavor, (I'm from Texas,) I liked it.

This is a nice read. The only minor downfall, Jim should have written more about the massive challenges surrounding health care and education. I also would have liked to see him talk more about the split between conservatives and liberals in the USA and how it is dividing the country.

I like Jim's straightforward and honest approach, in his first book and on his talk show "America in the Morning"

The book expressed some excellent ideas and other ideas that weren't so good. It was, however, straight to the point when dealing with the issues. Bohannon never stayed too long on any one topic, which is both good and bad. I hoped he would've written more on Poverty, Education, and Politics. Those chapters were good in and of themselves, but I was left wanting to read more on those topics. The book's bibliography in the back did provide more help. Its a superb book that deals with a variety of topics and goes into some detail. In the future, I hope Bohannon comes out another book containing more details about the issues.

I do not like convoluted political rhetoric or confusing sociological observations. Bohannon's writing is practical, knowledgeable, and simple. That's what made his book so enjoyable. You will not need a Phd. to read Bohannon's examinations of what America needs to do to improve. "Jimbo" is a great communicator. It is no wonder that he is the top radio talk show host for millions of Americans! If you like his program, you'll want to buy this book.

Jim's a friend and colleague, so I was prepared to be gracious. Instead, I'm REAL impressed. His plainspoken take on what-the-heck's-wrong-around-here-and-what-we-CAN-do-about-it is thoughtful and affirming. I'm recommending that all my client stations which carry his show buy a stack of copies of this book, and give them to clients and listeners.

Going to a seasoned expert in the media for perspectives and opinions can mean that the "media mouth" is a devout right or left winger. A good, hard driving, well-centered moderate man is hard to find! Take heart! Bohannon's book is the moderate voice who loves his country and wants it to achieve its promise and embrace the ideals that truly did and can once again revive our "moral center." Bohannon's breadth and depth of history is evident. If a reader is interested in a moderate's sensible perspectives, then Jim Bohannon's America in Crisis is worth the "dime" and time spent on this book. Jim has a large national following for his week night program. His callers appreciate his wit, incisive thinking, and his professional standards in taking the "spins" off of the current topics and really getting to the truth. Just as with his listening audience, Jim Bohannon's readers will be invigorated with his insight and solutions to America's problems in his "Twelve Step Program for America" chapter. Bohannon's book certainly has no "obfuscations." You will understand, know, and actually remember what you have read in his book when you finish this fast but very full "read." He communicates in a clean, no-nonsense style and with rich humor. I was impressed with his down-to-earth, conversational prose--available prose. There is so much right thinking in this book that I found my head moving in agreement and interspersing a few "amens" and "That's exactly how I think, too." I purchased four copies to give as gifts. That should be enough of a testimony as to my enthusiastic recommendation of America in Crisis--readable, enjoyable, believable.
