Junior Books

Entomology is a fascinating subject as introduced by this author, one of American's greatest living naturalists. Some chapters discuss the habits of such insects and beetles, butterflies and moths, ants, wasps, andpraying mantises. Other chapters are guides to collecting and photographing insects, building an ant house or an insect aquarium, and bee-keeping.

Nikki and Tim FINALLY get together (Nikki realized that she still loves him in CHEATING HEARTS (#11) and they decide to get back together :) Meanwhile, Brittany and Kim compete over a guy (guess who wins?!) who happens to look just like Tim. Samantha is busy flirting with a cute waiter and is glad that Kyle is safe at home.

This is the small Rand McNally edition which has been illustrated by Mabel Watts. The illustration are quite good, mellow and quite eye catching. The only objection I had to the book is that it did depict Ricky the Raccoon being fed by and playing with some school children he met walking in the woods. This is not a realy bright thing to teach children. That being said, the kids did and do enjoy this one and the illustrations are certainly pleasing to the eye.

It was a very good book. It inspired me and now that I am in Girl Scouts I feel like a better person.

Use this handbook for the leadership awards in the back, its really helpful for the girls to plan how they earn their awards.

These talk sheets really work. They're good for both seasoned and beginners. Very relevant and hit real issues.

This is a great book for anyone who is working with kids. The games are easy to set up and the prop cost is minimal but the results are huge! I have used several of these game nights with my youth group (grades 4-7) and they are always asking me when the next game night is. The instructions are clear and the book will spark your own ideas for other games too. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is running a church youth group or a sunday school program and doesn't mind getting messy!

My 2-year-old got this as a gift and just loves it. The story is about Junior the Pig's day in the city, without his glasses. The "spinwheels" let's you change the story and the choices for what Junior thinks he sees are very clever. My son has had a lot of fun making up a different story each time we read it. The story flows really well with easy rhymes and the illustrations are great. A very enjoyable book to read again and again!

This wonderful cookbook has so many recipes I have been using for the past 25 years! My Mom gave it to me and my sisters when she worked in Philadelphia with my Dad. Favorite recipes: Chicken in Champagne sauce, Glazed Baked Ham, Elegant Chocolate Mouse cake with Lady Fingers and Veal Stew. The recipes are arranged in menu style for suggested occasions. It also contains wonderful pictures of historic buildings in our area.
