Junior Books

This book was the first sesame street book i read to my daughter and since then i still read it to her every night. She learned the animal sounds and to name them all in this book. i recommend this book to the parents who read to their kids at night or when ever they read to them because i think it a wonderful book to have or better yet to add to your sesame street collection.

This is a great book to help kids experience what it's like to have a baby-sitter for the first time. In this book, Laura is coming to stay with Emily while her parents go out together. At first, Emily misses her parents and then she and Laura have fun together. I reccomend this book if your child is having a sitter for the first time.

Enchanted is a good read for families. It is referred to as a junior novel and I do wish they would have an adult version because this is a good story for all ages. Fans of fairytales and love stories will enjoy it. I find the descriptions and characters in the book engaging.

This is a great book for college students to use to prepare to teach in the Public School or Private School. I highly recommend that it be used in colleges for teacher preparation courses in Science.

I really liked the information in this book. It really helped me understand the project approach, since I was very new to the concept. I have really gotten lots of positive "reviews" from both my preschoolers and their parents. I used many of the suggestions in a Science Camp format for only a few hours/few days. I couldn't go as in-depth, but I was able to have the children "connect" with the environment and learn so much. They were curious, excited and ready to learn more.

This is a book for those who question literature teaching the way it has been done so far, and wish it was different. Langer's "envisionment-building" approach considers text interpretations as constant and never-ending processes, always collectively created and in transformation. The literature classroom is therefore an opportunity to share and re-build our interpretive procedures, to review and recreate our sense-making processes. The literary is seen as a way to produce meanings that is present in the everyday process of understanding, and not only when in contact with literary texts. She suggests classroom procedures and gives examples from her own teaching experience to illustrate her views; her writing-style is clear and straightforward, filled with passion for teaching and literature alike. I strongly recommend this book as one of the very few to describe teaching/learning approaches to literature from a theoretical basis without theoretical boredom.

i found this book in the reference section of my local library. it is THE book to have if you are planning on using children as storytellers. everything is laid out with examples. i did a little jig when i found it. used with Greene's 3rd ed. of _Storytelling Art and Technique_ i was able to plan a very clear program for my school.

A must have book for any kindergarten or first grade teacher!! This book offers practical suggestions for teachers.

Congratulations to these young authors. What a great way to celebrate the everday hero who helps mold our young students today. The history that is revealed in this book is an amazing tribute to the everday toils that often go unnoticed. It's great to read about the aunts, uncles, great-grandparents...This text really gives an amazing insight into the lives of generations past. More students should get together and record the histories of those important in their lives.
