As we know, there 's a popular film showing in US named' The

Lizzie McGuire Movie'. Unluckly, I'm not in US, so I can't

watch the film.I've watch the preview and I like it very

much. This book is full of imagination, it's a bit similar to the

book' The Princess Dairies'. It's the best book for all the

girls who liked to dream(including me) ------being a famous pop

star, having all the clothes and food you want. I like the

ending best, because it is unexpected. I think that it will be

one of the favourtes of the girls who liked to dream !!!

This book was really great. I would reccomend it for ages 11 or 12 and up because it has a bad word in it and it has the word sexiest in it. So if you know any 11 or 12 or older person get it for them if they are a Lizzie McGuire.

Totally Awsome Book!

The Lizzie McGuire Movie by Susan Estelle Jansen is an awesome story about one girl that is to clumsy to do anything and then she goes on a trip to Rome and finds out otherwise.

Lizzie is just about to graduate from junior high and she messes up real bad! Her brother tape records it and sends it to Good Morning America. Then she goes on a class trip to Rome and she tells her best friend Gordo that they need to find adventures. Then Lizzie bumps into pop superstar Paolo and she does find adventures. He tells her that she looks just like Isabella the girl he sings with. He tells her his story and she agrees to help him. She becomes Isabella for a couple of days dodging her new principal while doing so. Gordo covers for her and gets himself in tuns of trouble. Read this wonderful story and find out what happens with Lizzie and her singing career and Gordo and Isabella.

The characters really jump out at you. Lizzie is so clumsy and she seems to always fall down. The characters were really believable and the story seemed to be real to me. This book is really hard to put down you always want to know what is going to happen to Lizzie and her friends. You have to pay attention very closely so you aren't lost or confused. The plot is so interesting and the ending will blow you away. I really believe any girl who reads this would want this to happen to them.

I loved this book. It is every teenagers dream. This is such an exciting book it really lets you feel like you are leaving the `dream'. I would recommend this book to teenage girls looking for a good read because they would enjoy it and keep it as one of there favorites. The book will be enjoyed by all whom read.So read this book and please with all means `enjoy'!!

My 21 month old son loves this book!! We read it every night at bedtime. He loves to point out the things we are talking about (moon buggies, astronauts, planet earth). He gets excited thinking about what is coming up on the next page. While we are having such a great time he is learning about space travel. I highly recommend it!

I have a two year old boy and struggle constantly to find him non-fiction books that don't have to do with cars and trucks! It seems Anna Milbourne is who I am looking for. On the Moon is age-appropriate (toddler/pre-schooler), full of interesting facts, and has great illustrations. Highly recommended!

This is the book for you if you have a child interested in space. My oldest son is 3 & loves this book. My youngest child is 1.5 & can already say "rocket!" & "astronauts", pronounced "ternuts & ockets"
The illustrations in this book are wonderful. They are actual photo type images of the Earth & moon with cartoon images imposed over them. The text is short, simple & perfect for early readers. It just catches their little imaginations.
This book also encourages imaginative play related to space. We have looked for moon rocks & taken many pretend space flights since buying this book. I can't say enough good things about this book.

It's beautiful with lots of pictures and educational to learn about the moon and astronauts. The kids love this book and read it over and over. There are other great picture books on www.suesbooks.info. I have collected loads of these books. Can't get enough of them.

I bought this book for my 4yo and 2.5 yo, based on a recommendation from their Montessori school. Both kids love it, and I've since heard them using some of the animal "sounds" from the book in the course of their daily play. My little one loves finding the baby hiding on each page. I would also highly recommend the companion book -- Hush! A Thai Lullaby. We would give that one 6 stars!

The illustrations in this book are vivid and beautiful. A father and daughter play hide and seek in the Thai jungle, surrounded by wild animals and lush vegetation. My 18 month old loves searching for the little girl in all of her hiding places and then seeing the joy of the parent and child when they find each other at the end. What child doesn't enjoy a good game of peekaboo?

My daughter got this book for her second birthday. We had never heard of it before then. It is now her bedtime book, replacing Goodnight Moon. The story is pretty simple, but sweet. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. My daughter loves trying to find the baby on every page. Now that she knows where the baby is, she still plays and pretends with it. She likes to find the different animals, especially the "croc-oh-di-al." I plan to look at other books by this author and illustrator. I like that it's a daddy and daughter book too.

I bought this book just because my son loved Minfong Ho and Holly Meade's other book, "Hush! A Thai Lullaby." This one is very similar with a few differences. The illustrations are a little brighter! The father is interacting with his daughter in a game of peek-a-boo, rather than the mother hushing animals so her son can sleep! There are mostly different animals in this book with a couple of repeats. While the father is searching for his daughter he encounters a dog, dragonfly, rooster, snake, monkey, elephant, tiger, turtle, hornbill and crocodile! On each page the little girl is hiding and my 20 month old son loves to show you where she is! Beautiful illustrations with a fun interactive story are keys to a winner for my child. 5 stars again for Ho/Meade!

This, my most treasured cook book, was a gift from my beloved New Orleans mother-in-law in 1972, the year I began law school at Tulane. I know for a fact the Garden District and Uptown Junior Leaguers submitted these recipes from their fantastic family cooks and from the "back room" at Antoines. With these can't- fail recipes, you can prepare incomparably authentic and delicious New Orleans cuisine. I live in California now, and last night I did the Plantation Cookbook's extraordinary crayfish etouffe' with whole, frozen crayfish I found at Ikea of all places!

This cookbook has lived in my kitchen for over 12 years and has survived several moves and a flood. It provides excellent recipes for classic New Orleans and South Louisiana cuisine. The directions are easy to follow and the variety of recipes will never leave you without choices of what to have for dinner - be it a family affair or a formal occassion. Also, you can find the ingrediants for most of the recipes regardless of where you live. I've made my favorite dishes while living in four different states. (don't miss the recipe for banana-nut bread)

This cookbook provides the foundation for more recent cookbooks that feature New Orleans style cuisine. And as previously noted, it also gives you a wonderful description of many famous Louisiana plantations and New Orleans homes.

Unlike other books that just give you graphic organizers without the reason or strategy behind it, this book shows how and why to use the great reproducibles. She also tells how teachers should initiate a retelling or get kids to revisit the text. Her techniques are much like what I learned in my literature-based course but she gives a simple format to use instead of me having to think of my own. These reproducibles can be done with any age and are great to use where certain children have weaknesses. I highly recommend this book! This is not a book that will be stuck in a shelf! I have many great resource books that are almost a necessity but for a majority of the time I never touch them. I have used this book time and time again with great success!

Not just from New Orleans, al-though a food lover never has to leave the Crescent City for good eats, Roux to Do serves up Louisiana fare that is easy to prepare and delicious. The simple recipes strike a balance between meat and fish, while the central focus is roux-that easy to prepare, easy to ruin base for so many southern dishes. Big name chefs lend a hand, but the charming festival art and sidebars will win you over. Cooks from the Deep South to Novia Scotia can find a roux or two in these pages to color their table.

I've owned this cookbook for 10+ years, and I have to have given at least 10 copies over the years as gifts.
Timeless recipes from great cooks that were tested repeatedly amongst JL members and their families. One of the guidelines for selecting recipes for testing was that the ingredients were relatively easy to find.
I've made the majority of the recipes time and again, always to rave reviews (I'd love to take credit but it's not me, it's the recipes:)
Casual to fancy, this is a cookbook that I use as frequently today as I did when I first purchased it. You'll be pleased, I promise.

I read this book before giving it to my 8-year-old. I couldn't put it down. You will quickly come to care about the main character, Grace, and her family that has fallen on hard times. In this time when most kids have more stuff than they need and often feel entitled to more and more, this book really brings the Depression to life. Valuable lesson on what is truly important without being preachy.

There is a family: mama, papa,Pete,Grace,Iggy, and Owen. Pete is the oldest son and he is 13 or 14. Grace is only 11, and Iggy and Owen are still very young. Mama is expecting a baby soon, and the family has very little money to put food on the table. Pete and grace have to walk to the fire hydrant to get pails of water, every morning. Pete's left arm is not all there so he can not carry but one pail. One morning he starts coughing and breathing really hard, so his mom makes him dress extra warm. She tries to make him stay but he goes. It is the middle of winter outside. When they get to the hydrant the man opening it says he is going to have to move it to a different location, because it pours to much water into the grass or snow. The parents go poor and Pete gets really sick and they have to send all the kids away to a mission. They send Pete to a free hospital that won't cost them any money. The other three go to a mission near by. Grace makes a new friend while there, she also gets a chance to go to the Hammond's for Christmas. Grace,Iggy, and Owen go back home with their mom and baby sister.

Saving Grace was a really good book and probably one of my favorite books that I have read. Grace McFarland is a young girl who lived during the the Great Depression. At the begining of the story Grace played with an Ouija Board even though many times before her mother told her not to because the board was the work of the devil. The board predicted that Grace was going to start a new life. Grace has a terrible and a very rough life. She lives in an old and beaten up apartment building with her family. There are five people in her family. The people are Grace's mother and father, Owen who is four,Iggy who is around the age of one, and Pete who is 14. Grace's mom is also expecting a baby and they have no idea what they are going to do financially. They can barely feed themselves right now. It has gotten to the point that Grace and Pete take turns skipping meals. Pete and Grace are best-friens and they are very close. Pete is a great big brother and he loves to play marbles. The Great Depressin is at its' peak and jobs are almost impossible to find. The McFarland family keeps getting threatened to be evicted from their apartment. If it happens they wil probably have to live on the streets. Their dad is very upset and is doing any job he can get his hands on to keep the McFarlands from living on the street. He does construction jobs with railroad company evey once in a while to earn some extra cash. One night Pete and Grace decide to follow their dad. They end up finding out that he is brewing beer illegally. Grace and Pete's mom doesn't even know about so they have to keep it a secret from her too. They know that he is only doing it for their sake, but they are still upset with him. It gets to the point that Grace and Pete steal from other people and trade items to get money. One day Pete and Grave go down to get the water from outside at the fire hydrant and they find out they only have one or two more days until they get evicted from their home. When they go upstairs they tell their mother and she really begins to worry. Grace and Pete's stealing results in a list that has everything on it they have stolen. One day they agreed that they are going to repay everyone for what they stole from them. Grace keeps teh list in a little box that has all of her treasures in it. One day Grace's mother sent Grace and Pete to the alley store to get a few groceries for her. They used what little money they had earned from selling milk bottles to do so. On their way home a kid named Martin got in their way. He was with two other boys. Martin always teased Pete and he was a very unfriendly person to be around. One of the boys took the bag of groceries from Grace. They beat up Pete very badly. The boys and Martin finally ended up leaving.. No one was around to help Grace get Pete home. All of the groceies for supper were ruined along with breakfast for the next morning. On the way home they heard a small cry. The nightmare came to life in front of their eyes. On the sidewalk in front the apartment Mama sat crying on the four-poster bed that used to be in the apartment. All around on the ground the family's possessions were piled up. They had been thrown out for not paying the rent. Will Grace and her family have to live on the streets? Will the prediction that Grace is going to start a new life come true? You will have to read the awesome book Saving Grace to find out what happens.

Saving Grace, by Priscilla Cummings, is one of the best books that I have ever read! My mother always talked about going through the Great Depression and I would sit there and say, "Yeah yeah yeah..it's over now so drop it, ok?" But after reading this book, I see now what it was really like to go through the Great Depression. I found after finishing the book that I couldn't stop thinking about it! Very well written and incredibly real! I reccomend this novel to anybody who loves inspirational fiction! :-) !

Hello to all those tappers out there - I love all of you - Including you Savion. My name is Vaughan and I am actually Australian. My mother taught me how to tap ever since I could stand on two feet. Now, I'm 19 years old. And I'm a professional tap dancing teacher in Japan. Let me just say that I could relate a lot with what Savion was talking about. His views on tap and the way he wants it to go.

It's a fun book to read - with some great action tap shots of Savion throughout his life. The layout is very original, and very creative - it was nice to take my mind off my uni degree for a couple of hours and learn about this extremely successful tap dancer. Someone who I didn't know too much about, but now somehow believe that I've known him all my life.

It's a great art - Tap Dancing. And I wish there were people who could indulge themselves in a couple of professional / guest classes. I go around all of Japan teaching in my holidays, and I try to get as many people involved. Maybe because not many people do it, thats what makes it so unique. Thanks Savion - for following your dreams and publishing this book. It was a great read.

Your fellow Tap Dancer... Vaughan

Scince Fair Project Starting point

I had to purchase a Sciensaurus book for a college class and this book was an add on (buy two for less money). This is the book I use!

My 6th grade students were beginning their science fair projects and didn't have access to the internet. This is where I sent them for ideas.

The experiments are simple, the materials are minimal, the "science" is included but not primary, it is truly for those people who want their kids to experience the "hands-on" of science.

The index is set up in a chart so you can choose the topic~ earth, seasons, animals, rocks...across the top and then follow the column down to get all of the experiment options.

This book could keep a science teacher busy with experiments for an entire school year plus some!

I am so glad to discover this book is still available. It's far more comprehensive and intelligent than so many other activity books. Laid out clearly, with activities in various realms of knowledge that offer numerous variations so a parent could conceivably use this one book throughout a child's school years. I can't imagine a child not discovering the joys of science (broadly defined) when a parent introduces him or her to some of these delightful activities. The best thing about the book is that so many of the ideas don't require vast preparation, but can be done spur-of-the-moment.

Highly recommend this book for demos and Science Club

I've used this book for several years as a teacher, and found it gone from my bookshelf. It's great. It has everything. And it's written well and clearly. A very eclectic collection, but sound.

Creative, inexpensive ideas

I've used many of the activities. Either as a demo, as a "set" or for students to do. The materials needed for the activities are inexpensive. The ideas presented in the book are creative and allow you to spend more "brain power" on other things. It includes all areas of science, no matter what you teach, it can fit in. I've used it for 9th and 10th and don't feel it is too "elementary". It's worth the money.
