Chicago Bears Books

This is a great book and has wonderful facts on the Chicago Bears I would reccommend to all Bears fans.

I had a great time reading this book. It has many photographs throughout the Bears' history, which made the reading more enjoyable. The story is thorough but not dull and boring. The chapters are parceled out in such a fashion that it keeps your interest, and enables you to put the book down and pick right back up again later. This book would be a delight for any Bears fans, young or old.

Roy Taylor does a fine job telling one of the most compelling sports stories of all time. The photos/captions combined with the text give a true and complete depiction of what the Bears have meant to the fans since their 1920 inception. This well-written book is a must-have for any Bears fan.

I bought this book for my nephew and he loved it! It's a nice hardcover and had great pictures.

I just finished Jim Sumner's book. It's called "Tales From The Duke Blue Devils
Hardwood". It's a great read and nearly impossible to put down. The Book Chronicles Duke Basketball history beginning with Wilbur "Cap " Card a Trinity College graduate from 1902 who returned to introduce basketball at Trinity in 1906 and culminates with the Blue Devils 15th ACC title in 2005.
The majority of the book was taken from interviews from the likes of Mark Alarie,Tate Armstrong, Gene Banks, Joe Belmont,Vic Bubas, Tom Butters, Johnny Dawkins,Randy Denton,Danny Ferry, Mike Gminski,Bernie Janicki,Jack Marin,Dan Meagher,Gary Melchionni, Jim Spanarkel and Robby West to name a few.

This bag is great. I got it for my hubby for christmas. Every one who saw it under our tree loved it and asked where I got it. Highly recommend! Also highly recommend amazon!! This is a very nice large gift bag. It is sturdy, colorful and nicely detailed with team logo and name. It was a great b-day bag for my husbands gifts.

This book is a great read. It tells all about the bears history from the 1920's to present. A great book for any bears fan! It is worth the money.

Some of the stories in this book made me laugh out loud, others showed me a side of the Bears I hadn't known. The behind-the-scenes tales are full of human interest and down-and-dirty football. These tales are thought-provoking, some are touching, some are shocking.

A must-read for Bears fans.

I bought this for the cd single of the Super Bowl Shuffle. The song sounds loud and clear and is the best copy I've been able to find. I'm glad to have another rare 80s song on cd.

This is a wonderful book written by Bears of every football era. I've read it many times over and will continue to do so. If you like the Chicago Bears, you will enjoy this book. I can't recommend it high enough. You hear from lots of the guys you'd expect, McMahon, Sayers, Ditka, Butkus, etc., but I also really enjoyed the players who were there in the Bears golden days of the 1940's, guys my dad told me about. And, Doug Buffone's recollection of the day Lions wide receiver Chuck Hughes collapsed on the field and died shortly thereafter is haunting and chilling.

If I could, I'd give the book 6 stars!

a fun book about a great dynasty-needs to be brought up to date.

This book may be about the Chicago Bears, but by necessity it covers the formation of the NFL, and the history of the league. A fantastic book for any Bear fan, it chronicles the Bear teams season by season, starting from the very seeds of the NFL up until the 1980s. Complete with hundreds of photographs (mostly black and white), the book provides an easy-to-read history of Bear teams. While the original book covered seasons through the late 1970s, it was reprinted with a new foreward by Mike Ditka, with color photographs of the 1985 season, and of course, a few more years of season-by-season coverage of the Monsters of the Midway. I learned more about the NFL's history by "reading" this book than I did in 20 years of avidly watching 6 games per week, ESPN, and NFL Films. If you can't imagine a young, struggling George Halas trying to make pro football work in the big city, or you don't remember a time when winning an NFL championship was a 3rd page story, even in the city that won the game 73-0, then this book will enlighten you tremendously.

Mike Ditka didn't always have good times, or good luck. What Mike has is drive, hope, goals, believe in himself and some great experiences with family, friends & team mates.

It wasn't always easy playing hurt, but Mike endured tremendous odds and kept coming back time after time.

Mike had the best of his athletic and human abilities surface time after time. He is a legend and then some. Play with him, enjoy the game. Play against him and feel the pain.

I got this for my Dad on Christmas and all my brothers kept passing it around all day reading different entries. All the player's stories are only a few pages long so this makes for a great short story book that can be read for 10 or 15 minutes then put down, and revisited. All the Bears fans in my life loved it! I guess some of the people in it are pretty rare interviews and my Dad and brothers were so interested to see which games the different players would choose to discuss in this book. They all would guess which game they were going to talk about before they checked that section.
