If you buy only one book, get this one. This book rates the levels - easy, medium, hard - and the hiking distances and times. It also includes the driving distance from the downtown area to the start of the hike. We did 6 different hikes and the book listed points of interest along the way.

The entire series of Falcon Guides: THE BEST EASY DAY HIKES xxxxx are a delight to read and then follow. For those with a minimal amount of time to see vistas, canyons, and other scenery in parks and other areas of the country you can really experience a good variety of the locale by taking any of the hikes in these books.

I have about a dozen of these books, mostly of the western US and have referenced all of them in my hiking plannings. They are pocket size which makes them easy to carry with you and easy to read an understand.

In Best Flies For Idaho, Greg Thomas draws upon his experience and expertise as an angler to take the guesswork out of deciding what flies to use when fishing Idaho waters. Compiling more than 100 patterns developed in Idaho's fly fishing mecca, Greg goes beyond photos and materials to the fishing fly inventors themselves, revealing how and why these flies were created and how best to use them. If you are planning a fishing excursion or vacation in Idaho, begin with a thorough reading of Greg Thomas' Best Flies For Idaho!

Very useful camping guide!
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2008-02-17
Well-written and helpful guide for camping, especially tent camping, in Utah.
The author has done a fantastic job of highlighting the different tent camping options in Utah and has included his personal preferences of both campgrounds and the individual sites within each campground.
If you are new to tent camping in Utah, I highly recommend this book. If you are a more seasoned camper, I still recommend this book because he has obviously put his heart and soul into visiting all the campsites in Utah which is something that most of us simply do not have the time to do.
Included are helpful maps, contact information and additional sources for further information.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to go camping in Utah!

"Beyond the Far Ridge" by Edward Mark McGough. McGough is an educated, humble, underspoken cowboy, who knows how to tell a good story. In "Beyond the Far Ridge," he shares selected portions of the adventure of a lifetime that he and his wife lived out! McGough very gradually accepts you as a trusted friend and opens up more and more to you! Don't skip ahead and spoil the experience! Masterfully done!
