On Intelligence: Spies and Secrecy in an Open World

As the author states in the beginning of this book, it is not a historical account or individual memoir. Instead, it is a journey into the nucleus of the SAS. The PATROL is the tool used to propel this account, which is the basic SAS fighting element. This book takes you through selection and training of patrol members, preparation and execution of patrols in Borneo, New Guinea, and Vietnam. This book spares no detail of operational patrols, from the warning order to mission debrief, it is all covered here. The book reads more like a how-to book highlighted with actual accounts of mission debriefs, this is just a treasure of lessons learned, that still apply today. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the Special Air Service (SAS), or anyone that is in the military field of Reconnaissance, scouting, sniping or special operations.

I found this book to be so INCREDIBLY helpful, I was amazed. It was such a good step by step guide, I really recommend it.

This is quite simply the finest play in American drama. It goes next to "Waiting For Godet" as the quintessential play of the modern era. It is insightful, provocative, and hilarious. The protagonists, Al and Angel, are the heroes of a new time. Tesich was a genius and his death was a great loss to the theatre community. Once in a lifetime a play will change your life; this play is the one that changed mine.

This is a pretty interesting collection of poems. Some good stuff here. I read a copy a few years back; now I'm trying to get ahold of one again.

Any one interested in creating an education system that is child centered, flexible and interesting should read this book.
The Met, a public highschool in Providence, RI., is the focus of a 2 year study by the author that culminated in this book. This is a special place where real learning takes place and children are valued for their interests and their individualism.
It almost makes me want to go back to highschool or atleast move to Providence so that my children can go there. Thank you to the author, eliot Levine, and to everyone associated at the Met for being brave enough to go against the tide and create a school that will hopefully be the model for all schools in the future.

First: Mona is an awesome facilitator. If all online faciltators would take cue from Mona, their classes would be much more successful! (I am a seasoned online learner so I can judge this fact.)
Second: In the future, when I become an online facilitator, Mona's insights will be the ones I take to heart and apply to my own online classroom.
Third: Mona has a wealth of experience to draw from. Therefore, her intuition is based on tried and true means of helping adults learn in an intensse environment that can leave the student behind quickly.

This is the emergency toy for our 11 month old daughter. When all else fails, this offers her at least 30 minutes of entertainment. She can turn the pages by herself and loves to open the doors. It's like playing peek-a-boo, looking at animals, and opening and closing doors all in one. No baby can resist.

I'm not sure which year this literary journal is, but every issue of Open 24 Hours that I have read is packed with quality, exciting prose and poetry. There are many new, fresh authors -- some young, some seasoned writers -- as well as intriguing writing.

Check this out. And look for other editions. This literary journal is publishd every year by Brescia University, Owensboro Ky., and features writers from the region including Lexington, Louisville, Bowling Green, and Evansville, Ind., as well as many others.
