This book is absolutely amazing. As I applied to school 2 years ago, I truly had no idea where to start. The book helps you
step by step make it through the agonizing process of college applicattions. My sister is now using the program at admitu.net.
Definitely worth every penny.

I purchased the earlier edition for my son, who used it extensively and, ultimately, got accepted into 10 colleges out of
17 he applied to including UC Berkeley, Boston University, and Rensselaer Polytechnic.
This is really amazing, especially considering that my kid had only 3.6 weighted GPA, did not have on his resume anything like "class president" or super impressive extracurriculars. However, this book allowed him to thoroughly explore what is unique and special about him, and present it in the right way to colleges. One of the colleges even sent a hand-written note from Admissions office regarding how vivid and well written was his "big essay".
The book is also very helpful in terms of keeping your sanity with making everything organized, and not missing any deadlines.
It is a very small, but very valuable investment in your childs future. Buy it, read it together with your senior, and your child will find the best possible educational path for them.

This book is a fascinating, eye-opening account of a group of civil rights activists that have been mainly "invisible" in
most accounts of the happenings in and around Atlanta from the mid-50s to the mid-60s. The story is interwoven with factual
descriptions, media accounts and recollections of the actual women (and men). As a Spelman alumna (class of 1984), I am proud
of these women and ashamed that I did not know more of the astounding part my sisters played in this "drama". This book is
a MUST READ. For those who don't know: the fight is not over. You need only read this book for real inspiration and rejuvenation
for the ongoing battle. Dr. Lefever, a masterful writer, has done a wonderful job of writing this; it's a real page-turner!

Undaunted by the Fight is a 21st century documentation and reflection on the U. S. Civil Rights Movement and the Spelman College
women who played key roles in helping to make it happen. It pays tribute to some of the unsung Spelman (s)heroes of this
Movement, while at the same time providing the reader with a generous overview of the significant events that took place across
the country during this critical time. Detailed at times, the book gives the reader a sense of "being there" and getting
to know, honor, and respect those involved in the Movement; and it does so in such a way as to not invade the personal lives
of these individuals, as some books are known to do. It is a beautiful, scholarly presentation of an ugly time in U. S. history,
with just the right amount of humor to keep the reader moving forward instead of getting stuck in anger or guilt about the
details of what happened when the Movement was most prominent. The U. S. Civil Rights Movement, though at times appearing
stagnant, is indeed an "ongoing" event that has influenced local, national, and global politics. This book makes those connections.
It is inspiring and motivational, and it leaves the reader with the questions of, "Where--and how--do we go from here?".
I praise Dr. Lefever for this book. It is a timely piece for the new millennium for those of us who wish to remain "undaunted
by the fight".

Comprehensive answers trump anecdotal and one-sided criticism every time. Questions about faculty demand such answers. Middaugh's
clear and patient guide to faculty productivity show why and how to deliver such answers. His reviews of the Joint Commission
on Accountability Reporting recommendations and his elucidation of the Delaware Study method and results make this a terrific
buy. It can make your next appropriations testimony before the state legislature an opportunity instead of an ordeal.

To the individual or family of one lucky enough to be embarking on a collegiate journey:
Welcome. My name is Colin Megill and I've spent the last semester composing this book especially for you. In it you'll find exclusive information which previously would have only been available from an older brother or sister who had attended the university. Now, better than just one older sibling, you'll have the resource of over 300 students who've donated their opinions towards the cause of getting you better informed about your college decisions. This series is, hands down, the greatest guide you can ever buy. The College Prowler line is fair, accurate, excruciatingly thorough and dedicated to you, our fellow students. As I and all of my peers who've written these guides for over 200 other higher education institutions will tell you, we wish with every fiber of our being that these had been available to us when we were making our college decisions. And the best thing about the guides is that they don't become obsolete once you get to school. They have information which will be of practical use to you throughout your college career, from the phone numbers and addresses of all the local restaurants to academic strategy for the types of classes you'll encounter at UConn. I hope you will take advantage of this wealth of knowledge in your consideration in choosing a school. Good luck with your college search!

Here's an exploration of the University's two centuries of struggle to achieve state university status; from its initial agricultural
college status to its Civil War struggles, its evolution into a tuition-free people's college, and its movement into university
status. But The University Of Maryland At College Park: A History isn't just about school politics: within its pages are profiles
of student and faculty culture over the decades, social and political atmospheres affecting the college's focus and growth,
and how the modern university status is changing the school. A pick for not just University grads and fans; but for any reader
of higher education history and politics.

Although I have no particular knowledge or interest in the University of Maryland at College Park, this history is so well
written that I still found it an interesting read that was hard to put down until I had finished it. The author goes through
the history of the college from its founding as the Maryland Agricultural College through the Civil War, the Great Depression,
and the riots of the 1970's to today. An intimate portrait of the college as well as a trip through the history of this part
of Maryland it contains many period photographs that add to the charm of the book. "The University of Maryland at College
Park, a History, is highly recommended to anyone interested either in the college or the history of Maryland in general.

There is a ton of great info in this book that you won't find on a campus tour. It's the best thing I've read in terms of
giving detail from a student perspective. The author told me everything I wanted to know and a whole lot more. You won't be
disappointed if ou pick this up.

I got this book as a gift from my mother. I read it and it was amazing. I have been to Oxford on many occasions for many visits
and such, but there was a ton of information that this book had that the average visitor would not know. It was fully of suggestions,
bits of history, and unique places to go to while you were at school at Ole Miss. I am grateful for guides like these that
will steer other freshman in the right direction.

I'm so glad I found such a great book that really spoke in great detail about Notre Dame. Everyone interested in the school
should pick up a copy as soon as they can, because there is so much great information available inside, it's better than simply
going on a campus tour. Even an overnight won't tell you all that this book has to offer. Each section has student quotes
and grades, and better yet, the entire book is student written.

Not knowing Pittsburgh at all, or the University of Pittsburgh, I feel that after reading this guide I have a much more detailed
impression of both. That's what is so great about this book, you don't jsut get wonderful info about the school and its academics/athletics.diversity,
etc, but also about the area in which the school is located. I think this is also such a great read because it is written
by a student at the college. Everyone should get a copy!
