Everything you want to know about the Tour de France is in this book. A lot of historical information. A must read for anyone who loves the Tour.

If your serious about venturing far offshore either on your own or as a crew member for a seasoned sailor, then this is a fine book to start with as you tune your sailing skills.

Jeremy brings a nice touch to the subject and prepares the reader for life as a crew member. It isn't glamorous and may be full of harships but there is certain joy that comes from the performance of a well-oiled crew that loves their boat, the sea, and the adventures that may come their way.

This book will help you get your head into being a valuable crew member.

I highly recommend this book.

Kellie Hammond mourns the death of her husband NASCAR Nextel Champion Jinx. However, as she buries her spouse, she learns he made a deal without consulting her as his business partner. He signed Lucas "Bad" Boyce to drive the Hammond Racing team car with the stipulation if he wins the championship he has the option to buy the controlling interest in the company.

Almost two decades ago, Lucas and Kellie had a fling. He moved on not knowing he left her pregnant. She married Jinx who raised Jamie as his own. As Lucas mentors Jamie, he and Kellie realize that youthful attraction still burns between them. She begins to wonder if she owes him the truth although she fears the reactions; however, as they fall in love someone seeking vengeance plans to use Jamie as an expendable pawn.

Although the theme of not knowing you sired a child has gone around the track numerous times Day LeClaire keeps it fresh due to the NASCAR background. The story line is fast-paced as the lead pair fall in love, Jamie tries to prove he is a chip off the old block, and an outraged adversary plans mischief. Fans will enjoy this fine second chance at love tale.

This was an excellent book, one which I have wanted for a long time. I put off buying it years ago when traveling through England. When it went out of print shortly thereafter I was chagrined. I was very glad to get the updated tribute edition.
As an avid TVR driver for many years, including high performance versions, I was anxious to hear how Marshall dealt with the quirky handling of the TVR's. I like to think that his "out of control" cornering method was perfectly matched to the little cars. What I was not prepared for was how much of a dedicated racer this man was. It must have been a truly great privilege to have known him. The sport lost one of the great icons in a world now obsessed with something different in racing.

There are many books out there that tell you how to make the fastest Pinewood Derby car - many, many books. This book, on the other hand, is directed at the Scouter who has been given the job of organizing a Pinewood Derby or Space Derby race. The book covers everything from getting started, through setting the rules, and on to organizing the heats. As an added bonus, the tail end of the book gives a set of instructions on building a Pinewood Derby track, and a set on building a Space Derby track.

Overall, I think that this is a great book. As a Scouter myself, I can say that every pack should have a copy of this book that is given to the Pinewood Derby Committee every year. So, if you run a Cub Scout pack, then you must buy this book!

The almanac has been published and updated for several years by Thoroughbred Times magazine.

It is an absolute must for a fan of Thoroughbred racing, as it covers the sport from the major races, to the personalities and the legendary runners. What I find particularly interesting is the history of the tracks and wonder why such historic facilities like Hialeah Park are left to decay.

You will spend hours going through the fascinating details of the sport and certainly come up with more than a few trivia questions that will stump your pals as you watch the post-parade for the race that has that live longshot.

Sweden's Ove Fundin was one of the greatest motorsport champions of all time, winning the speedway motorcycle racing world title five times during the 1950s and 1960s. Still an active motorcyclist, bicyclist, runner, hiker, aircraft pilot, skydiver, and golfer in his early seventies, he is quite an interesting character. John Chaplin, an experienced speedway journalist for many years, has produced a well-written biography based on documentary research and extensive interviews with many of the subject's colleagues, competitors, and family members, as well as with Fundin himself. Although an authorized biography, the book is not a whitewash, and presents all points of view of Fundin's character, both during his racing career and after his retirement. For speedway fans, the book is well worth reading, presenting not only the life story of the five-times World Champion, but many first-hand insights from interviewees about what it is like to ride among top-level opponents in a speedway race, as well as interesting technical information about speedway equipment of the period. The book itself is a quality large-format paperback illustrated with many photographs.
