Racing Books

This book is about a boy named Kin Travis, who has just joined Waddy Peytona's pit crew right before the seabreeze 250. His Aunt Adrian has a serious problem, and has to collect $1,000,000.00 beofre her husband's gang destroys a painting.

Admittedly I bought this for myself. I am a huge Tony Stewart fan. I was more than pleasantly surprised by the amount of stickers and activity pages in the book. It also teaches a few things about the sport and has some bits of information on each driver. If you have a little one who likes NASCAR I would highly recommend this activity book - even if they are not necessarily Stewart, Hamlin or Yeley fans.

NASCAR Best shots.

There are some great photos in the book but it is not about photography and how the shots where set up. The subtitle is "the greatest photography in history. The photos in the book are for the most part good and there are some great shots. There are some interesting photographic techniques used to make a fairly mundane shot look Great. There are a lot of photos here that only the NASCAR fans will understand and appreciate. Some of the photos will undoubtedly trigger memories. There are a couple of old photos of Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough, Fireball Roberts and a few others but most of the photos are in the time period of 1990 to 2003. There is a shot of the Daytona 2001 race where Dale Earnhardt Sr. is in the middle of the pack that made me think about the tragic ending to that race.

What this books does do is capture the NASCAR experience and it does it very well from fans at the track dressed in the gear of their favorite driver to racing photos including the heat of competition, the thrill of winning, the agony of defeat and the overall experience of being at the track.

The forward by Richard Petty is great. He talks about what racing is to him and reflects on some of the photos in the book and what they meant to him. He talks about the history of NASCAR and the changes over the years in terms of popularity, the changes in the cars and going from dirt to asphalt tracks.

There is not lot of reading to be done here. Other then the forward by Petty and a couple pages that describe what the photographers have to go through to get the shots it is all photos with short anecdotes or a brief description of the shot.

A great pictorial essay of all things NASCAR. Fans who love NASCAR will love this book and is worth 5 stars.

If you are a NASCAR fan and a stat junky, this is the perfect book. With yearly drivers and owners statistics, plus the top five finishers from every race in the Grand National/Winston Cup series, this book has every stat that is important. The only drawback is that it was published in 2003, so the last two years worth of results are not documented. Notwithstanding that blemish, this is a great reference.

You've seen the show, now read the books! NASCAR Racers #2: Taking the Lead comprises the episodes "Duck Out of the Way", "Co-Pilot", and "The Mission" -- faithful renditions, worthy of this great animated series. Both the show and the books are great for NASCAR fans of all ages.

I thought this book deserves 5 stars because it has everything you need to know to become an experienced N2 driver. It tells you how to set up your car, where you need to put you car in the middle of turns, and much much more. I highly reccommend this book.

I am a Nascar for Mac racer but this book is still a great book to have by your side at any race sim track. It's like having your very own crew chief. This book allows you to fine tune your chassis for greater speed as well as fine tune your line around the track. The PC cd-rom has car set's that can be converted to Macintosh. It helped me win my first league race!

We purchased this book for our 6-year-old who has recently taken an interest in NASCAR. He is able to read most of it himself, but it is not so watered-down as to be dull--it has quite a bit of good information. The little trophy stickers inside are cute--they get one each time they read the book, but the motivation to read it really comes from the fact that it is interesting!

this book has all the facts.A great handbook to have while watching at home. It covers trivia,track details etc.
