Another outstanding book from the Eyewitness Encyclopedia Series. It not only tells you what a dog is, but goes into its social structure, evolution, body structure, diversification, domestication, and types. Facts on wolves, dingos, foxes, coyotes, etc. There's even a page with pictures of different types of tails.

Does what it says on the cover! A great first book to read having just got a puppy mastiff, thank you.

Although this book is relatively small (78 pages), Anne Finch has packed a lot of information into it...from greyhound history to adopting a retired racer to living with them to the last years of this noble creature. The pictures are lovely and are themselves easily worth the price of the book. This is not intended to be a comprehensive work on greyhounds, rather it is a more summarized overall view of them. It is an excellent resource for people considering adoption and a "must have" in the library of all who are owned & loved by greyhounds.

This book is GREAT if you're just starting out in Agility. It teaches you how to start dogs on each obstacle, and how to progress through to the advanced level of the obstacle, then once you've mastered everything how to put a course together and run it. A very good book, which I recommend immensely!

I think this book is quite excellent...It contains very much usefull basic information about puppy + training. There`s a little bit about history and health care also. I was very pleased about the information concerning pharaoh hound`s personality but I had unfortunately read most of the facts previously from webpages on Internet. So this is not very comprehensive book and I don`t agree with the writer`s opinion about the importance of crate training. I think the book`s puppy, training and behaviour sections are the best!

I bought this book because my one and a half year old LOVES dogs. She has looked through this book a thousand times. I am actually ordering another one because I fear we may loss it. Besides being a "picture book" for my little one, I have read about the dogs and their history. It is a fascinating book with great information from the origin of the dog to the life expectancy of the breed. Love it!

Excellent book has some very good points and very easy to read great for first time owner.

Mr. Dwyer has provided a simple but effective training book that provides positive results with your pet. The book may appear too simplistic, however, his methods work every time. With repetition and patience your dog will come when called, stay, sit, etc.

Mr. Dwyer also provides nice information on dog selection and what to look for in a breeder among various other useful pieces of information.

I highly recommend this book.

I've enjoyed this book a lot. Ive read several books over this breed and this book includes stuff that you always wondered about your pom. I highly recommend it.
