I bought also a book about Pharaoh Hound and I find them both very good...not perfect...but I think it is because the breed is not common...

This book is very good because it describe so well how to take care of your Basset Hound from puppyhood to old age. There have been so many books about this breed that just tells very briefly about his great breed, and fill out the book with information you can use on any breed. I will give this book to all my puppy buyers, its a book they can use as a manual in all situations that will accour in a Bassets life.

As a long-time breeder of Scottish Terriers, I first bought this book for myself, as well as several other same-type books. This book, however, I found to be very complete and thorough for new owners of Scottish Terriers. This breed of dog is not your everyday lab. and requires specific knowledge. I have a lot of confidence in this book that goes out the door with every pup I sell to a new Scottie owner. It offers all a new Scottie owner needs to know about the dog type, breed expectancy, feeding, grooming, and training, etc., as well as general dog ownership information. A strong five stars.

I was very pleased with this book. We are getting ready to purchase our first Siberian Husky, and this not only gave us the information as to what we should look for when purchasing (as far as physical details), but information on transportation, how to handle it the first few days, reviews on what toys, bones, etc. are good for this breed, and much more. It also gives a good, brief, history on the breed, information about disposition and "how to" training for a pet and as a sled dog, and more.

Great book for the beginner. Not too much information to make your head swim, but enough to make you feel secure you know what you are doing. Great Job!

It is a recent book on the Akita dog. The photos are of excellent quality. A small book jammed packed with everything you need to know about the Akita. A great beginners book for anyone considering obtaining this breed.

I love this book! Highly recommended for anyone who owns or is thinking about owning an American Shorthair. Stunning photographs and a very enjoyable read make this book a worthwhile purchase.

Its a MUST for new Australian Shepherd owners and a good reference book for those who have been in the breed for awhile...
I strongly suggest breeders puprchase a copy to go home with every puppy they sell....

This is the best and most complete book on swine I have found! It covers every question I had and answered some I never thought of. Excellent.
