Breeds Books

Most books on specific breeds available at the pet stores are written "generically." In other words, they don't really talk about the particular traits of the breed that are important for a new owner to know. This is a great book about a wonderful but often misunderstood breed by a well-know Dal breeder. She not only lets her reader know about how a typical Dal thinks and reacts, but also gives excellent information on diet which is important for this particular breed. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to know more about the breed but doesn't want to invest in one of the more expensive Dalmatian books.

This book has over 100 training tips for you and your Dalmation. It tells you how much to feed it, what to give it,and how to train it. It will help you out by giving you tips on how to handle your puppie(s)/dog(s) without being harmful or over active with your Dalmation. It gives you tips on how you should play with your Dalmation. Weather it is being rough or being gentle.It gives you tips on how to teach it not to bite people or objects. If your puppie is teething you should give your Dalmation some soft chew toys and some hard chew toys. Just make sure that the toy your giving your puppie isn't to hard because their puppie teeth can fall out and you will have a big problem there. This book is worth the money. So take my advice you should by this book while it is on sale!

For Dark Golden lovers check with Browntrout Publishers. This listing is out-of-date. However, Browntrout will be out with their 2006 calendars this time of year. If you love the dark goldens, they should have a wonderful calendar for you.

Once I started, I couldn't put it down! I enjoyed the characters and the many references to our Catholic faith. I was surprized by the "villian", which doesn't happen very often.

Reading "The Defiant Breed" proved to be both a pleasure and an educating experience. The story in itself is truly inspirational, but it is steeped in such beautiful uses of the Old Irish language that it lends itself to a thoroughly convincing tale. This book will have a timeless and universal appeal to people of all ages due to its depiction of true friendship and what one has to go through to preserve it. The mere gallery of struggling souls including Aiden the elf, Teddy the human, and Rory the dwarf gives this story a colorful, panoramic view of life and love in this ancient world. I lost myself for days at a time in these struggles and triumphs so wonderfully woven throughout this colorful panorama of these ancient lands. James L. Pasch writes in a concise, adventuresome voice that draws you effortlessly in to a true epic. This book is, without a doubt, one for the family library.

I belive, this book is a good book because I just got it today, an it is very usefull for reports and trying to pick out a pet. I am going to tell a bout it to all my friends. My friend never knew what what type of dog his grandmother had. With David Taylors book "DOGS", we found out she (Carina) was a long coated chihuahua. This book is very use full, and its convinent. The Doberman book is a great read, particularly for anyone interested in the early history of the breed. Although published back in 1985 the care and training sections do not appear to have dated at all although some of the photographs are showing their age a little.

Part One of the book is about the history of the Doberman, from it's early origins and how it developed it's 'Devildog mystique' and concluding with the AKC and British standards for the breed. Although the rest of the book is filled with all the useful facts and pertinent information that folk new to the breed will need to know, this first section makes it a title for the experience enthusiast as well as the newbee.

this is a good book, I have adopted and hope to adopt more dogs in the futre to me adopting and rescuing animals is the only way i will get them, to many animals with potential are being put to sleep, it's murder, fix or nueter your dog at the eirliest possible time PLEASE!!!!

Really a beautiful calendar with great pictures. Not dumb like last years.
