As an obedience instructor for 35 years, this book is the most informative book I have ever read.It gives information on a vast range of obedience training from puppy to the adult dog. It is very detailed on how to get your dog moviated. It is very informative on how to handle yourself. how to walk,stand, hold a leash,where to put your feet. I enjoyed this book throughly.

This book is just great for anyone who is searching for all the current and correct information on this breed. Whether you are looking for a family pet or a show dog, Barbara steers you in the right direction so that you can make an educated decision in selecting your newest family member! It is so important to go to the right breeder and know what you are looking at, and what questions to ask.Barbara's book educates you to do this. The photos are lovely, the history is accurate and interesting and the cover dog is just beautiful. Who wouldn't want to own one! Or be owned by one, after reading this book.! Barbara is a long time breeder and one of the original people in this country to own this breed and to bring this breed to its current level of quality. You can't own a Bichon without reading this book first

The book was everything my wife needed to learn about horses.
I have had experience with horses and I also enjoyed reading it and remembering some of the things that I had forgot.

It is unfortunate that this book went out of print rather than into update. For overall general cat information and care I have yet to see a better guide. Of exceptional value is the color coded chart of symptoms and illnesses that help you pinpoit an ailment and the importance of a particular syptom to diagnosis.

The book covers general information on breeds and living with your feline friend, body systems and how they work, illnesses and treatments, breeding and geriatics. Written for a lay audience, the book provides enough information to help without overwhelming the reader with detail and medical jargon.

A.Sayer, if you are out there, come back and update this guide and give us a new edition.

if your looking for a dog and don't know what kind to get. this book is for you!

It was only within the last 10 years that I fell in love with cats. Until then, I was afraid of them and didn't like them near me. Then I was asked to care for someone's cats as they had to go away and so I promised to feed them. That was it! I am hooked. If you love cats, as I now do, or are just curious about them, then you will love this book. It is a beautifully presented, 476 page book, on excellent quality, glossy paper, packed with colour photographs of every cat you can imagine and then a whole lot more! The text is well written and the print easy to read. The content covers cat care and cat breeds. If every book I ordered were of this quality, I would be very happy indeed. There is just one thing; I wish that the book had gone more in depth into Feline Urologic Syndrome (FUS)which is quite a common killer of cats. Information on that can be found on the internet.

I've not seen a more complete book on the subject of Golden Retrievers. While most photographs are black and white, they show an extensive variety as to look. Mrs. Fischer's insight and discussion on Goldens is superb. Her book includes History, Genetics, An Analytical Discussion of the Breed Standard, Training, Field Trials, Tracking, Obedience, Confirmation, Care, Breeding and Raising, Golden Legends, Leaders for the Blind, Pedigrees and more. This truly is a wonderful book that I would recommend to any Golden owner. It's complete. Mrs. Fischer's love of these dogs is evident.
