Breeds Books

This book is fantastic, I held off on buying the first book that popped up on a Cairn search because the review mentioned how impersonal it was once they actually read it. I'm very glad I decided to get this book instead. Not only does it include what to generally expect when buying a puppy and raising a dog, the author also supplies his own personal insights into what to expect when buying this particular breed. He follows the life of your new Cairn from puppyhood to seniorhood. This book is fantastic and it's something to keep as a reference throughout the life of your new friend.

This book must have been the "IT" book for breeders and alike in its time. I am so happy being able to get hold of this book and sometimes carefully reading a chapter. For a cairn enthusiast this is a must for the collection library.

As soon as we got Calico's Cousins, my eight year old daughter read the entire book. Several days later, I decided to reread it with her. I was thrilled to find such a wonderful children's book. It is incredibly interesting because it presents so much information about breeds of cats that most people have never heard of before. It has beautiful detailed illustrations on every page but it is not a mere picture book.

Here is what my daughter says about it. "This book is cool because of all the different kinds of cats and all the information about the cats. My favorite cat is the Birman Cat. I love its blue eyes."

We recommend this book so highly, that we are going to buy a copy of the book for our local library.

If you want to learn more about the Cardigan, or already love this wonderfull breed, you will like this book. So many breed books read like a generic dog book where only the breed name and pictures are changed. Information tends to apply to any dog. Not this one; it reads as if every word was written by someone who loves Cardigans. It is comprehensive and objective enough to help a potential Cardigan owner make a good decision and raise their dog well without boring you with too many things any dog lover would already know. Even the training and care sections are breed specific, taking into account the unique temprament of this dog.

Love this book. Even though we read all we could on these horses, the book had information we did not know about them. Glad we bought it.

This Book gives a good amt. of information about all the cat breed

If you have a cat, know a cat, or are thinking of getting a cat, I suggest Catolog. This colourful reference, containing over 340 photographs and provides information on over 70 different breeds. This material is subdivided by long and short haired cats. Each breed in these subsections is then detailed with a description of the physical and psychological traits, the history, possible colours, and important qualities for showing that particular breed. Each of these entries also includes a quick reference box with symbols that tell the reader how much grooming is required, how vocal the animal will be, the activity level, and how much attention that animal will need.

Catalog is quite addictive. Every single person in my house picked up this book and started to look though it. First, they all searched for our cats and when they wholeheartedly agreed with the descriptions of these breeds they all started looking for our next cat(s).

Very informative and excellent book. Lots of colorful illustrations and photos. Pictures of adorable cats and kittens. An in depth list of all the major pedigree and non-pedigree breeds. Instructions as to how to care for your cat or kitten and how to decipher cat behavior etc. Cat lovers should buy this book!

This is an extraordinary collections of photos. Frees did not harm or mistreat his subjects and insisted they were not drugged. His talent was remarkable and yet he died penniless and was buried in a pauper's grave. His intuition about when to snap his shutter and his mother's hand made costumes make this a delightful snapshot into the life of a reclusive artist who committed suicide at the age of 74 (he had cancer).

this book is an absolutely oustanding modern-day treatise on some of the wide array of agricultural genetic and aseatic diversity among cows and cow relatives. Scour the earth for this book. Now. Or, at least, that's the best advice I can give to anyone ;>
