I have 2 beagles of my own and I love the beagle calandars.

BEAUTIFUL BIG DOGS contains 35 dog appliqués by Darcy Ashton. If you have her DARLING LITTLE DOGS book, you can create 70 different dogs. You could even adapt one of her appliqués to match your own cuddly friend. We had a Keeshond and that breed comes from the runts of the Huskies so they look similar.

In purchasing this book from Ms. Ashton's site, [...], you get a signed copy along with a couple of "extras" surprises. Seven quilt patterns and one pillow pattern are included. There are tips on transferring patterns, embroidery stitches and helpful hints on sewing the faces and dressing up your dog. Making a special label, fusing and needleturn appliqué instructions are other tips Ms. Ashton provides along with basic quilting information.

Each project is clearly written and has nice graphics to help detail the directions. A fabric and cutting list are found right after the block and quilt size. Assembling directions are next and finishing suggestions complete the pattern. The appliqués are full-sized so you don't need to run out to the copy shop to start your project.

As an owner of a big breed of dog, you can create a quilt for your special friend and one to match for yourself. Giving a quilt to someone who owns a big dog makes a great gift and will be appreciated for years to come. You could even add BEAUTIFUL BIG DOGS is your own wish list.

I really enjoyed this book alot! The characters were well-developed and the reader is definitely left wanting more...several sequels come to mind immediately. I hope Ms Ashleigh decides to make this a series, and hope we hear a lot more from her!

I have looked over this book. it is excelent. it has many photos of different champs. including a description of the animal and his/her name. along with sires and dames. I would recomend this book to readers, and lovers of the breed.

An excellent starting place for information regarding this lesser know breed. Very helpful and informative. It answered more than a few questions we had regarding our dog's behavior. If you have a Belgain Sheepdog, this book is a must. If you are considering the breed, read this book FIRST.

I'm so surprised nobody has reviewed this wonderful book yet! I guess it's up to me.

First, this book is easy to read and comprehend, which is good because there is lots of useful information to remember. There is nothing in this book that is not covered. It even has a section about the tick diseases greyhounds can have because at the tracks, the dogs are not given any sort of flea/tick control.

This book does not take sides in the greyhound racing debate. Instead it gives truthful, unbiased information all about greyhounds! If you are seriously interested in adopting a retired racing greyhound, this is the book for you. It has lots of gorgeous photographs and short, fun stories about adopted greyhounds. It is very well organized and it is easy to find what you are looking for.

I really like Adopting the Racing Greyhound by Cynthia A. Branigan also, but if I had to pick between the two I would pick this one simply because the information is just as good plus you get color photographs and shiny pages. Whee! Also, it is a hardcover book and in my opinion that is a plus.

This is a great book for hiking with your dog on trails in the western and eastern parts of North Carolina. This book is a part of a series by Mountaineer books and gives great details about elevation, water, trail difficulty, etc. I would recommend this book to anyone who walks their dog on trials and and in the outdoors. Plus all dogs love the trails anyway. Great pictures of dogs on the trails too!

This has to be one of the best books I have read on the Hunter and is specific to a unique mark of the aircraft. The book not only gives an insight into the life and times of a Fighter-Reconnaissance pilot but also into the lives of the most essential element, the ground-crew who kept them in the air. ('If aircraft were difficult to fly, the Engineers would be flying them'). It is a fascinating history of this absolutely classic aircraft and one that will probably not gather too much dust on the bookshelf; being referred to and re-read many times over. I have read it three times already and found something new each time. This is a highly recommended book from an eloquent and uniquely knowledgable author.

I really enjoy the detail in this book, I wish there was more on grooming.
