Debra Marlin's Golden retriever, Sonny was so very much like Cody. Read and enjoy this wonderful book that Debra Martin has given to the breed. Although it was an emotional journey for me I still give Debra and Sonny 5 BIG Stars!

naughty Dalmatian!Review Date: 2004-09-01
Co-author John Paragon has a pet Dalmatian named Andy, who was no doubt the driving force of inspiration for this hilarious book of few words, but non-stop laughs.
Cathy Pavia's illustrations are to die for! Andy's expressions are priceless and if you've ever had a dog be naughty, you will understand everything that is going on.
Andy's owner is going out to the grocery store and tells Andy to watch the house - but there is a naughty glint in Andy's eye. After the door shuts, Andy runs to the window to make sure the coast is clear, leaving a big nose smear on the glass.
Andy has a brief "Risky Business" moment as he rifles through his master's dresser and dons his briefs and shades and slides into the livingroom. Andy gets into the garbage, smokes a cigar, pukes on the rug, has a female poodle come over to play and generally wreaks havok in the house.
When he hears his daddy coming home, he has to clean up - and quick. If only real dogs cleaned the house!
As Andy tears up his home - we can see photos of dogs, especially one of Andy on Santa's lap. We see statues of dogs, an Andy Warhol print on the wall (one would guess Andy is named after the artist - his hair is the same color, anyway!) and other clear homage to life with dogs.
Life with dogs can be so rewarding and life with a Dalmatian is not for the faint of heart - but not without its own set of rewards. The authors clearly appreciate the fun spirit of dogs more than they disdain their naughty antics. A hoot for children and adults.

I know that doesn't sound very erudite, but it's true.
Stacy Lloyd's illustrations of her friend Jupiter are extremely eye-catching and fun. I, for one, am looking forward to the comic strip that one of the syndicates would pick up in a hurry. This book is definitely worth a look
Does she know my dog?Review Date: 2004-07-21
Jupiter's prose offer insight into the canine mind. Theres not a dog owner among us who won't laugh knowingly at these poems, and illustrations from the dogs point of view. Also- a writing dog... what a great idea!
If you have a pet.....you should have this book!Review Date: 2004-06-29

A Delightful and Suspenseful Cozy MysteryReview Date: 2008-04-30
As usual, her Uncle Kevin Andrews, Richmond police detective, attempts to protect the strong-willed animal lover while struggling to stay on a diet. In the meanwhile, Genna's work as an aerospace engineer under contract to NASA and her preoccupation with local Papillion dog shows collide. I loved learning how both NASA and dog shows operate behind-the-scenes.
In Amorous Accident: A Dog's Eye View of Murder, the first book in the Genna Colt and Sky Mystery Series, we get an insider's view into the birth and care of championship-stock puppies. But her love of the furry beasts extends also to a rescue who has been traumatized by the murder in a pharmaceutical research facility.
In Beguiling Bundle, we see Genna's devoted care extend to a poorly nourished Papillion rescue (she's lost her beautiful fur) who gives birth to a cleft-palate deformed puppy--a real beguiling bundle that everyone rallies around to save.
Let's face it. Although I love the suspence, the adventure and the behind-the scenes glimpses in Keating's mysteries, what I love the most in her books is the love that seeps through the pages for Genna's furry butteryfly-eared side-kicks . . . and all of our beloved companion animals.
I guess I'm not the only one who loves Keating's books. She just received one of the most prestigious dog-writer's awards--the Oscar of the dog books--the Arthur Frederick Jones National Award for Excellence as the best book of 2007.
Curious about dog shows?Review Date: 2008-04-03
I have been a dog lover all of my life and owned several purebreds, but never ventured into the world of dog shows -- unless you count the 4-H dog show at the county fairgrounds when I was 13 years old. Gunny, the same dog my parents adopted when I was 5 years old, took 2nd place. We won a 25# bag of Houn' Dawg dog food. Oh...did I mention there were only 2 entrants?
If you love dogs; if you love a good murder mystery; if you are curious about dog shows but don't understand how (or why) they work -- then this book is for you!
