Paint Books

This book is a good folk lore book. The illustrations elaborate on the text and creates a wonderful story to read. As many folk lores have a religious aspect so does this one. It's message is more direct, however the book can be integrated in a good folk lore series for classroom use.

Does anyone understand (and like) kids as much as the team at Blue's Clues? They consistently come up with creative, fun complements to this great television show for the preschool set. This coloring and activity book arrives with four crayons, four watercolors and a paintbrush, and features coloring, a maze, puzzles, pattern matching, and drawing -- all of which lead to a party (with snacks!) for Blue and her friends: Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Paprika, Fifi and Freddy Felt, Shovel & Pail, Slippery Soap, Tickety Tock, Gingerbread Boy and Baby Bear. Each page is blank on the reverse so you can either tear out the page before painting or use the reverse to draw.

Crayons are non-toxic and paints are washable. Another winner from a solid team.

Wonderful fictional and non-fictional books all rolled into "one". For those of us that know the area or have family who did, it was a great way to reminisce. What was greatest was that my dear husband remembered some of the people mentioned and the author is an obvious relative unknown to us. "The Spout Spring" was a whimsical story that took me to another place in another time quite easily. Great book about the Mountains of Northern Virginia and their people. (Just wish we could figure from whence some of those folks really stemmed from).

This is the latest addition to my art book collection and I would recommend it to anyone.It's colorful, the information is presented in a clear, direct way that beginners will appreciate, and there are tips and ideas that experienced painters will enjoy.
If you want to loosen up and make your paintings colorful....this is the book for you.

This little book goes far beyond portraiture. In a way it does not actually deal with portraiture, but in actuality is a most outstanding guide to getting "into" painting. The first book that a learner/discoverer of painting should have.

My kids and I had so much fun with this book. We all made aprons and then took it a step further and created blocks for a quilt with our Girl Scout troop. I was fun using rice, pasta, coins, leaves, rocks, etc. to leave a shadow in our projects. I wish I had more pain with the kit, but was able to purchase more separately.

This book is an excellent teaching book for students learning about surface coatings. Throughout my career in the paint industry, I have also used this (along with other chemists in the laboratory) as a reference manual to look up mechanisms and structures as a refresher when we evaluate new or seldom used chemistries. Everyone at our facility who has used this book has claimed it is a great book to have ready at hand. It has never failed us.

I found the book very educative, and indeed very comprehensive giving exhaustive information. I recommend it as must for people engaged in the field of Coatings, be it paints or even paper coatings.
