Paint Books

If you are a beginning painter, this book is for you. It's very basic and easy to understand. Many pictures in color to show techniques. You will Learn how to paint water, skies, landscapes, etc. It is very detailed as to what results you can gain from each brush. In addition, it gives you color combinations to mix your own colors. I Highly recommend it to the beginner.

I have an original oil by Anton Gutnecht, and I knew him personally. This book effectively shows how to do his style of landscape painting and is a nice memento for anyone who owns one of his paintings.

This book is so good; it's great to read an uplifting story that we can all relate to. My son loves it as well; he keeps going around the house calling his toys ole paint now.

The book is an embodiment of all a research student needs to know about paint technology.It provides a step-wise approach to the study and analysis of paint formulations.It also gives possible formulae for every quality of paint one would wish to produce.
I have to get a copy of it because I consider it a handy material for every graduate Chemist.

This is my 6yr. old daughter's favorite book. She would do a project everyday if her mother would cooperate! Many things she can do alone, for others she needs help. Enough depth to make it fun for me as well. We especially like 'painting' with melted crayons. Really intense colors, and an amazingly simple, safe technique.

This is a beautiful book. IT has great paintings to illusrate the concepts of angry or sad. There are also examples of conparsion such as far and near that to the uneducated artist are very visilly clear what theyare talking about. It would be a wonderful tool for children in teaching these art concepts without too many words. Beautiful compare and constarting pictures on differetn concepts and abstract ideas.

I have watched Jerry Yarnell paint on television and always wanted to paint. I will use this book in conjunction with his TV programs to learn some painting techniques and possibly take classes from other artists. One step at a time!

This book highlights Farrow and Ball's impressive palette with representative examples in some of England's finest homes. Historic examples abound. Farrow and Ball is a true testament to old world craftsmanship with paint of superlative quality. I've been a fan of Fine Paints of Europe but have become a champion of Farrow and Ball recently because they offer paints of higher quality at comparable prices, but you get a lot more quantity for your money. FPE sells a Eurogallon (2.5 liters) for a similar price, whatever the hell that is...F&B sells real gallons...they are around 65-70 gallon, but the wow factor is there, once you have it on your wall. Outstanding!

Paint and Painting, is good because there is a lot to do in it. You can pop things up, put in stickers and learn about the different stages of painting.

The section on Giotto, and how he prepared frescos for the Scrovegni Chapel, is amazing.

I have an old edition. Be sure to buy it when it is back in print.
