My great grand mother would have been pleased to see the delight this story brings to her great great grandchildren's faces. The artwork brings back many fond memories. Pat Mora couldn't have chosen a better subject . Children will love the pictures and the simple tale this book has to offer.

This book is so complete, so thorough for the serious decorative painter. It is not your usual decorative painting pattern book at all. But it covers all aspects of beautiful finishes. Then does go into such tecniques as stenciling, gilding, etc. You cannot think of a finish that is not in here.

My grandson loves to paint and this book give him the simplistic pictures to imitate on his canvas. It is beautifully illustrated with all of the colors of the rainbow simply used. It's also a great read with a cool message. We love it.

The second one by Hamilton Crane. This one features the race to the 'Best Kept Village Competition.' Miss Seeton is keeping very busy, doing a bit of substitute teaching and drawing some pictures for the village to go along with the improvements. But what has police concerned is that she seems to be drawing buildings in flames. And there's an arsonist about. What is Miss Seeton trying to tell them? And will they figure it out before her own house goes up in flames?

So much fun! Really recommended. Lots of laughs.

Well done book in the tradition of the Western Horseman "Legends" series. If you are interested in the APHA and the lineage of the foundation paint horse there is no better reference. Recommned highly.

Miriam Rice opens our eyes to the astonishing array of colors that can be extracted from many types of fungi. She names the mushrooms, tells us where to find them and how to dye yarns with them, primarily wool and silk, to get all the beautiful colors you could ever desire.
Now that many years have elapsed since this book was published, I wonder what other magic things she has been up to with fungi and hope she will let us in on her latest finds very soon!

This is an easy book to use for anyone who has ever wanted to try dyeing from plants. It has simple step by step instructions that make you want to get out there and start dyeing straight away! There are lots of colour photos with examples of Judith's work and also photos of the plants she has used. Even though this is an Australian book, the plants listed can be found all over the world or subsitituted for local plants. The author has a vast knowledge of plant dyeing and this shows in her book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in trying this fun and rewarding craft!

My 2yr old son has loved this for over 6 months now. He loves the colorful pictures, flaps, etc. This is our second copy. He has no idea what to do with the pop-out pieces and those were a mess to clean up - but a great book.
