I bought this deck specifically because I am a huge fan of Michele-lee Phelan's art. Over time, I have also become a big fan of Lucy Cavendish's writings - her cd is also top knotch. I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates fantasy or goddess art. The works are not fluffy. Buy it, and you won't be disappointed!

One of the most powerful oracle decks I've experienced!

This is an absolutely gorgeous set of oracle cards visually. As with all Blue Angel Gallery products, I adore their bigger included book size, and the quality of their cards. Each of the artists used in this tarot deck are so gifted - I loved loved LOVED each of their representations, and the different energies it brings to this deck.

Aside from the beautiful visual aspects though, I need to say that this is one of the most powerful, accurate oracle cards I've been blessed to experience. Every reading I have done with it has been amazingly accurate, and the wisdom in these cards is powerful and deep.

I also need to say that from the covering box, I at first didn't pick up these cards because it has such a dark cover. I'm so glad I did though - inside it is shining with light, and the friendship of the Dragonfaes.

My highest ho! to Lucy for creating these oracle deck of miracles... you are such a blessing!

Inconsistent Artwork

I mistakenly bought this deck thinking all the artwork was by Michele-lee Phelan. The cover is hers, and 6 of the 8 pictures featured on the back of the box are also. From the small pics I'd seen only the internet I thought they were all hers, but 2 turned out to be Selina Fenech - which is ok, because she is a fine artist also. After buying the deck I found out it is a collaborative effort of seven different artists. Unfortunately, not all of the artists are a talented as the 2 represented on the box - a sentiment it seems Blue Angel Gallery agrees with, otherwise why not give a more accurate representation? Still, Cavendish is an imaginative writer and the deck is probably worth having - just a bit of a disappointment considering what a great deck it could have been.

I had never used any of Lucy Cavendish's cards before I bought these. I do not regret my purchase! Not only are they beautiful to look at (I fell in love with Michele-Lee's artwork), their very powerful messages are what I need exactly at the time I will draw a card. These cards turned me into a fan of Lucy's. I highly recommend them. They will open your world to the Dragonfae. . . ancient friends that have been waiting to reconnect to us.
Note: There are about 20 incredible cards that Michele-Lee did the artwork for in this oracle deck. Absolutely breathtaking work!

"Dragonfae are powerful and bring deeper understanding and clarity to all things...they tend to come into our lives to remind us who we really are and to active aspects of ourselves that we may have forgotten...Dragonfae help us to access knowledge from deep within. They are truly happy to be seen, felt accepted and heard as they have deep mystical knowledge to share--and they are your kin, and a part of who you truly are." - From the Oracle of the Dragonfae companion book

I first heard of Lucy Cavendish when I experienced her uplifting and profound wisdom through the Oracle Tarot. Lighthearted yet soul centered, her insights were accessible and well, magical!

Although I had no idea what "Dragonfae" were, when I found out she was authoring a new deck titled Oracle of the Dragonfae, I was intrigued and excited.

Well, I received it in the mail today, and it has far exceeded my expectations. I'll share more on my amazing encounter with this deck in a bit.

Firstly, some background: the Oracle of the Dragonfae, published by the wonderful Australian publisher Blue Angel Gallery, features the lovely, vibrant illustrations of seven different artists, with a 163-page larger-than-usual companion book.

The 43-cards are numbered, depicting the world of dragons and those aligned with their energy, for example, Gaia, Brigid, Melusine, Queen Oonagh, Goddess Tiamet, and others. Each colorful card shows the name of the particular Dragonfae, with a short phrase. Here are some examples:

* Tatsuya - Have courage!
* Drystan - Look beyond the surface
* Fernia - Clarity
* The Lovers - Love each other
* Oroko - Boundaries
* Queen Mab - Your ancient wisdom is awakening
* The Wild Huntress - Face your shadow
* Chumara - Web of all life
* The Pendragon - Pure male energy
* The Elder - Heed wise counsel

The sturdy, high-gloss cards from the Oracle of the Dragonfae measure approximately 5 ½ inches x 3 ¾ inches, with the card backings showing a fully reversible, subdued--but attractive--pentagram design.

Now, for my personal experience!

When I received this deck, I did something I don't normally do: rather than look through all the cards first, I just put the deck in front of me, facing outward, asked a question, and drew a card randomly. I had no idea what the cards looked like, let alone the order they were in!

After I read Lucy's interpretation in the companion book, I was stunned. Somehow, her three-page explanation of my card touched on not one, but THREE separate, unrelated issues. Yet, they were melded together by the wisdom of Chenguang, "Be light of heart".

The central, core issue was specifically addressed in this deck (and helped me make an instant decision that lifted a burden and welcomed the fresh air of freedom), as well as two peripheral issues that I've been concerned about, but couldn't seem to coexist peacefully with them.

After receiving such pointed, sage and encouraging guidance from that one card, I began eagerly devouring Lucy's companion book to the Oracle of the Dragonfae. She answers the question of what Dragonfae ARE, as well as their purpose and "calling cards". (Now I know what I keep seeing dragonflies in my backyard and individuals often give me stones, crystals and butterfly tokens!)

I now feel such a kinship with the Dragonfae because of this deck. In fact, when I began writing this review, I felt a strong, huge, heavy beast "curl" around me. I sat very still, felt this powerful, knowing, protective energy--and then the hairs on the back of my neck and arms stood up. (It's happening again as I write this!)

So if you're on the lookout for an unusual, illuminating and spot-on deck, do give the Oracle of the Dragonfae deck a try. I feel you'll be pleasantly surprised by its accuracy and beauty, as well as the otherworldly insights by Lucy Cavendish.

I got this book from a local bookstore. Only one was available and the cover was not in a very good condition. But I find the content stunning... the combination of photographs and no faults with the manipulations/modifications done could have easily fooled many in earlier days. Today we know such mastery is possible powerful computer software.

This book eye candy to me.

Eyecatching Effects and Stunning Ideas

Sometimes we come across advertisements (eg. posters) that catch our attention and make us wonder---"How REAL!!" and amaze us. This book is filled with wonderful pictures, carefully designed, composited, etc. with consideration of details such as shadows to make things realistic. Everything in the pictures blends well with other elements in the pictures. With the power of today's photo editing software, some of these may not be difficult to produce but for the rest, they seem like wonders to me. Imagination and skills are essential.

If you are in advertising and designing, it would be a great challenge to yourself to try to produce similar effects in the book. Or if you are just looking for a book that shows you great pictures in advertising, you will find this book to be an eye-candy. However, this book does not teach you how to produce the effects; which, I think is not the aim of the book.

I am happy to have a copy of this book.

This book is chocked of photographic pictures that are skillfully modififed to blend seamlessly. Some of these may be done by using plug-ins, but others require more effort, skill and thought. For example, you cannot just mask an object and paste it on another photo; need to consider shadow, lighting, etc. and I think the pictures here involved such considerations. Great work. When I look at the pictures, I think, "That's great..." and a great challenge to me to produce similar results.

I am also intending to get "Paintbox No. 2" !!

This was the first book by Denise Linn I have read,it certainly will not be the last. She truly captures the essence of reincarnation in her writings. Her stories on Native Americans along with other case studies made for very interesting reading.

You'll never look at your life the same.

Ms. Linn explains the past life concept with ease and grace. Anyone can read this book; it's not one of those mumbo-jumbo, what does that mean?, get out a dictionary-type of books. She uses language that even the untutored past life enthusiast can understand and absorb. She uses real life situations to put the concepts into perspective. If you are looking for a book to learn more about past lives without extremely heavy thinking, give this one a try. Even a skeptic will think twice about the paths we choose in this life!!

Denise Linn does it again...and again...

I am an admitted big fan of Denise Linn's work. I will tell you that upfront! But this book is one of the MOST important past life books I have read. In her inimitable style, she teaches us to do it ourselves! Denise teaches us the techniques, the secrets, the methods to delve into our own past lives and learn for ourselves just who we were, what we did and when. I consider one of today's true master teachers and urge you to buy this book if you have an interest in anything Past Life oriented!

I like Brian Weiss and now I like Denise Linn!

I am really glad that I discovered Denise Linn! I have been reading alot about reincarnation/past life regression lately - it's something that makes so much sense to me! I have read all of Brian Weiss after seeing him on the Howie Mandell show! I really like his books and I got a tape of his also. He's a very good read as well. But I've read them all and I still need help!

Ms. Linn has a wonderfully different way to discribe her experiences and to suggest ways to relax and regress! I am a very hard nut to relax - I'm too "busy" and I need to get all the suggestions that I can! Ms. Linn has given me the "blue light" method which I think will help and she reaffirmed many others - in different words and emphases! I am not done yet with this book - but it's a fast read and I will be done soon so that I can try what she suggests and pass it on to my sister!

Leave it to a Native American to show the way!!

I have always had great respect for Native Americans with their high level of spirituality and closeless to the Earth. Denise Linn is an excellent example of this.

Her book was and is exactly what I needed to open doors in my life. Her exercises are excellent ways of not only finding out information about past lives but also, as the title suggests, finding out who you are in the present.

The best chapter in the book is "How To Recall A Past Life." You'll be surprised at what you find out.

Only a Native American could write a kick (butt) book like this. It is most definitely worth the read!!!

What started out as a collection of articles in Australian newspapers The Courier Mail, the Australian and the Age has become one of the best and even now, one of the most relevant and well thought out political commentaries on political power in Australia.

Garrett is passionate, prophetic and coherent. His argument is timeless. Further more, it shows Australian politics has changed little in nearly 20 years.

Review Date: 2003-10-06
My two favorite players are Pat Rafter and Pete Sampras so this book was destined to be of interest to me. Overall, I would say I'm slightly disappointed for not getting more in-depth into Pat Rafter the man. This is nothing but a simplistic diary of a year traveling the circuit, what he did at tournaments, where he practiced and with whom, and status of his injuries.

There is nothing in this book to criticize; it's just very simplistic reading. Pat is the epitome of an Australian man, a great athlete who credits his mates and his family for his strong bearing. Everyone knows Pat likes to toast a few and this book describes a few all-nighters after key wins.

Unfortunately, this book needed to be written sooner. The yearlong diary covers few highlights. He did make it to the semi-final of Wimbledon losing to Agassi and he did play in the Davis Cup match in Boston beating the Americans in an epic struggle with Todd Martin. But while the book starts after he won his second US Open, it ends with him losing in the first round of the US Open in 1999.

Probably the most interesting part of the book to me was the squabbles with Pete Sampras, my other favorite player. Pat starting beating Pete and I assumed Pete was struggling with this and was at fault for fallout by some of his comments. From reading this I suspect Pat was just at much at fault based on comments made at a press conference and the way he states his side of the relationship. Irrespective, they're both quality individuals and great players who went at it from different angles. It says a lot for their character that they talked on the phone to hash out any difference and can both walk away with respect for each other.

I don't mean to be disrespectful to Pat about this review. I miss his game. You knew when you watched a Pat Rafter match you got 100% effort win or lose and that attitude comes through loud and clear. I just wish it had covered more background about his upbringing including his junior tennis career to show how he grew into such a champion.

I immensely enjoyed reading this book. I read it on the road while traveling to away matches. It was a refreshing and encouraging reading. It's very heartening to see such a down-to-earth person as Rafter be so succesful at tennis. The narrative is very personal and informal. It's like Rafter is having a couple of beers with you while he gives you his insight on life as a professional tennis player. Great tennis player + Great person = Patrick Rafter

This is a story of a girl lost in the world of today, without a soild family. It is perhaps fear that makes her "step around the corner" into the 1930's, at the time of the depression in Australia. There she meet Young Jim, whose family takes Barbara in, even though they are poor. Here Barbara learns what it is like to be loved, and to love in return. THis is a great book, and I love the feel of the 1930's, French writes it so well!

I love it! Abolutely! I cried, I laughed, I read it again. The description of the depression days, the Australian bush, the ol' billy and hessian bag windows in Young Jim's family's shanty in Poverty Gully to which Young Jim flees with Barbara too. Lonely, 1990s Barbara. In the world of jeans and sportsgirl and makeup and discos. Plummeted into the dark depression world. But not everything's so bleak. Over Barbara's time living with Jim's family, they accomplish some wonderful things... until it takes a natural disaster to get 'Bubba' back around the corner again... The best book I've ever read. I loved the end, but it was a tear-jerker, when she and Young Jim are reunited, then only perhaps two or three years apart, now more than sixty. I could cry now! I LOVED IT!

SOOOOOOO CREATIVE!
