Miniature Books

I love Beethoven's 3rd symphony, but as I will never be able to conduct an orchestra, I close my room's door, put the Eroica CD at full volume, and with my Eroica miniature score I'm able to conduct an ethereal orchestra in my mind.
I really enjoy listening and reading music at the same time, specially beethoven.

The "Fate" theme is from the first movement. The bittersweetness is the the second movement. The joke or "Scherzo" is in the third movement, and the Russian Folk song is the fourth movement.

FANTASTIC. When I got this item of Tchaikovsky's fourth symphony, I was really enthusiastic with it. I'd always like to read it whenever I felt like to listen to the symphony, and I'm really inspired by the notes everytime I see it. Music has been my obsession for many years, and as I see and hear Tchaikovsky's fourth symphony, I feel the great expressions he's expressing. Tchaikovsky, to me, is a composer you could sense out quite easily. I'd say that he's nearly as famous as Beethoven.

This edition of the Sixth Symphony is a great one in terms of quality, readability and presentation. The Sixth Symphony is probably one of Tchaikovsky's most famous works. The first movement is such a beautiful and emotional piece of music. The other movements are wonderful too, but I have a weakness for the first one. It is always interesting to read the score - while listening to the music for example - for there are so many details one could simply miss.

I was not sure what to expect on ordering this book.Im so glad I did.its perfect for my needs..it gives everything from materials used for each..painting...why...and all techniques.I do watercolor and stamping and arcylic painting..this is perfect for my needs ..oil painting is also included..this is a treasure...and has history on miniature paintings included..its a pretty book..lots of color pictures..well worth the price..B.W.

Our whole family has this book memorized! What makes this book especially fun are the exclamations sprinkled throughout such as; "Shhh!", "Mmm!", "Wee!", "Beep, beep" and "Uh-oh!" Both my children chanted these words when we reached the appropriate pages before they even really learned to talk. Furthermore, the story of a Teddy Bear coming to life at night is sweet and captures the imagination. When I first received this book as a gift I was not that enthusiastic as it was not a familiar "classic" But it has since become our family treasure and I would like to pass this book on to anyone with a toddler - if only it was still in print.

I've had great success growing plants in terrariums with this book as my guide. My largest one served as a side table in the living room with a glass top and sides, but I've also grown small plants in a brandy snifter.
It's a Sunset Book and they can be counted on to cover a topic quite thoroughly. Thirty-six pages help you select the right plants for your miniature garden or terrarium, and gives the requirements for light, humidity, etc. for each plant. Symbols indicate if the plant is appropriate for a terrarium, a semi-open container or a flat dish-type container.

Along with my newly adopted mini poodle, I purchased three books on the breed. This one is by far my favorite for several reasons.

Number one, it was obviously written by a person intimately familiar with the poodle breed. Though it did cover some basics that would be great for any dog owner to keep in mind (such as potty and behavior training and a basic vet overview), it also delved into specific poodle concerns that I - as a new poodle owner - had never known. My concerns about grooming, feeding, special health concerns and training were all covered.

Another thing I loved about this book was its readability. I never felt overwhelmed or bored reading this, and I really felt prepared to take on the ownership of a breed of dog I'd never had prior experience with.

As an added bonus, it came with a neat training dvd that showed some basic training techniques in live action.

Probably my absolute favorite part about this book is that it covers how to ADOPT a poodle. I met my little buddy at the humane society, and most people are shocked to hear that when I tell them (he looks like he could be a show dog). You really can find a pure bred best friend at the pound. But don't let them overshadow all those adorable mixed breeds!!

This calendar's pictures are very clear and lovely. There is plenty of space to write down appointments, etc. in the daily spaces. Doggy quotes for each month add to the uniqueness of this lovely calendar.
