Miniature Books

This small, pocket sized pop-up book provides six useful maxims to get you through the day. Each piece of advice is accompanied by a moving picture in a style which owes not a little to Lichtenstein. Useful to keep at hand when the going gets tough.

The four books are enclosed in their own little slipcase. Each book explores the topic it is titled with and features illustrations by Jan Menting. They are very fun little books to read and enjoy.

I highly recommend this book for your library if you are interested in the field of miniature art. Katherine did a wonderful job covering the subject and the final "miniatures time line" in the back was icing on the cake!

Being an ancestor of RLS this book has a very special place in my heart.

We found this delightful book in the library. I was dubious at first, but my daughter has me read it to her every night. She prefers the phot compilations to regular illustrations.

Finally someone has a fabulous idea for enhancing the telling of children's tales. This book is such a simple design and so well thought out. There is a glove in the book and there are over 30 different characters with velcro backing that you attach to the glove. In the book, there are three main sections: 'Finger Plays' or nursery rhymes and songs, 'Plays' which are the fairy tales (like "3 Little Pigs" and "3 Billy Goats Gruff"), and then there's a 'Create Your Own' section where there are some suggestions to get your imagination flowing. I bought this for my 2-year-old and she loves me telling the tales with the finger puppets. I think I might buy another one to keep in the car for those lengthy car trips -- beats out a VCR in the car in my opinion...
