Miniature Books

Terrific book for learning how to paint miniatures (great step-by-step instructions with illustrations,) and also learning the interesting history of the medium. Although I myself am a long-time artist of miniatures, I picked up a lot of tips and tricks.

I have had dogs all my life, but never Miniature Pinschers, so I decided to check them out before buying one. This book has EVERYTHING you will need to know- and she writes in a very easy to read and understand style. Definitely read this if you are getting a Min Pin- your pupper will thank you for it!

A collection of ideas with great instructions. The fact that she gives photos and instructions on how to make the miniature beds, linens and quilts makes the book a wonderful find in the miniature world. The instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. A jem of a book!! Found it at the local library and knew it had to be purchased for future use and personal notes.

If you don't want to take on a large quilt but love the charm of vintage ones, this is the book for you! Just one more wonderful little book about wonderful little quilts.

This book takes the song `The Teddy Bear's Picnic' by Jimmy Kennedy and gives it illustrations. The song is about how on their day off, all the teddy bears that ever there was will gather there (in the woods) for certain, because today's the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic. The song then goes on to describe what happens at the picnic. The song is very cute, and has a very catchy tune, which cannot (unfortunately) be heard because this is a book. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful, and are what makes this book worthwhile. The bears look very cute, cuddly and realistic. The book itself is smaller than a normal book; perhaps that is what the `miniature' in the title means. It is only 0.25 x 5.25 x 4.00, while most picture books are bigger.

In my opinion the best way to read this book is with the tune playing, either out loud, or in your head. I think hearing the tune while reading this book adds a certain something that makes the book good. If it weren't for the song, I probably would only give this book four stars. If you haven't heard the song, there are several websites that play it.

I bought this book approximately four years ago when I had the pleasure to meet the author, Mr. Charles Harnett.
This book is filled with tips on care and maintenance for most species of bonsai.
It is an easy read and really covers the questions anyone might ask about watering, sunlight, fertilization, potting, re-potting and many, many other topics.
It also covers how to spot and buy a true bonsai and not what most people think are true bonsai. The author details the differences between the two.
Having a long history with bonsai, beginning with military service under a master in Japan, the author's experience shines through clearly.
I have also had the privilege to buy two trees from the authors business and have had them for four years and counting. I have used his tips in their care since day one.
I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who would like to explore the world of Bonsai.

After seeing the movie, Miss Potter, I wanted to know more of Potter's stories than Peter Rabbit. I collect small things. I so very much enjoyed reading each of these 12 lovely little books. The case is designed so beautifully and only takes a small space on my book shelf.

An exact reproduction of the original Peter Rabbit series only smaller. Even the pictures are exactly the same. My daughter loves her miniature version. It is a beautiful set of books that my daughter will treasure.
