We had two other books like this one, and my baby has loved them above all her other books for many months, so I bought three
more. She mainly loves the little flaps, and can be entertained by them for quite a while. If your baby likes flaps or tags,
I highly recommend this product and the others like it.

A Series, Not a Single Book

The Diminutiques series provided staple-bound booklets with high-quality 1:12 furniture plans.
In the first part, the author gives basic instruction on how to shape the wood--the best I've ever seen, dealing with the problems of cutting curves in thin stock that will want to split if handled wrong, also for cutting patterns without a jigsaw and turning barley-twist pillars. Basic construction, finishing, and even decorating ideas are included.
The center section is "tear-out" full-sized plans, printed on only one side of the paper. Fortunately, I always photocopied (and now scan and print). Finally came the project-by-project instructions with copious drawings of what went where.
Where the outside covers were not sufficient to show color pictures of all the projects (as in v.III), inner color pages were added.
I have the first three volumes. Perhaps some later reviewer can let us know of more. The pattern pages, on matte stock, are ivory with age, but not yellowed or browned. The rest is still glossy and white--good paper!
If I have any quibbles, they mostly come from the age of the books: I use Tyvek bits off envelopes instead of paper for the hinges, and have had to find my own brands of acrylic finishes. The author does assume you will use balsa wood, like a number of others. I have never had a good result in my crafting life using balsa: I always use basswood, which doesn't split as easily and doesn't crumble on the endgrain like balsa does. It works even better. Getting into the craft hardwoods now available has never seemed necessary to me, though I'm now contemplating it if only to refresh the hobby.
Now, would Craft Publications, Inc. kindly re-issue these and make themselves some money? I would cheerfully pay the cost of a six-pack or two of ordinary beer (the international standard of cost) for any missing volumes. The furniture is so well designed, the patterns so carefully drafted, and the instructions so clear that they are quite worth that price.

In 141 pages Karen Kreider tells the story of Disney's Aladdin and goes beyond it. Supported by full color images directly
taken from the film. A recommendation for any Disney lover. Great way to introduce the story of Aladdin to anyone who wants
to learn more about the movie but can't watch it.

Several years ago, as a baby-boomer looking to become collector of something, anything- I found "Little Little Golden Books".
If you love little things, like I do, then you must get these books. They're the perfect collectable; they're small and easy
to store, they're very inexpensive, and they are becoming harder to come by! All the books contain the full text of the
original Golden title but they're tiny and adorable! Of course, my favorites are the Disney titles, so this set with the
figurine is the BEST! You wait and see; these little books and especially the boxed sets will be worth their weight in gold
someday. Until then, curl up with your little one and enjoy the Disney books you loved as a kid.

I bought this book wanting to make glorious doll clothes like those shown on the cover. It was a bit of a let down, because
you had to have the actual dolls to size the clothes on. Directions might read "measure the dolls waist and add a half an
inch". I ended up selling the book to a doll shop owner because it did not fit my needs.
Very nice and complete overview.

For the collector or miniaturist who is interested in history, or with an eye for details fitting a particular period in time,
this book is a valuable addition to your collection. Heaps of detailed photos, and information on materials used in the construction
of the original dolls. Don't buy this book if you're looking for instructions on how to make and dress your own dollshouse
dolls, but order it now if you love antique dolls, or want to make and finish your dollhouse dolls in antique style.
