"Common Bonds" gives wonderful insight on how to be an anti-biased teacher. Anytime I have a question about integrated classrooms and diversity, I get out my book and I always find the answer, whether my question has to do with celebrating holidays in the classroom, dealing with same-sex parents or any other kind of racism. The author is great with advice on how to deal with contraversal situations in the classroom.

This was my first year teaching high school soccer. After thorough research I develop a preseason workout, a season workout, and a thorough stretch routine. I did not suffer one muscle injury this year and I think that the stretches had a lot to do with this. Overall, This book has many great ideas and if you need a little guidance this is definately the book for you.

This is what you need!

Practical, informative guidebook for any inside sales depart

Review Date: 1999-04-20
This book gaves a thorough outline of the Inside Sales process. From start to finish, Joel gives the reader a handy guide to starting up and successfully managing a tele-center for your organization.

Includes not only how to hire, but who to hire, what technology to have in place, what scripts to have - how to write them - almost everything to help you in your efforts to begin a telecenter. Business executives will love the easy reading "how to" format of this guide as well as the on-going suggestions and motivation for continual improvement. I recommend this book to all sales managers who use telesales as an important part of their business success!

This book is essential for any sales and marketing library

This book is the most frequently referred to book in my sales and marketing library. This volume is a logical, well thought out step-by-step guide (complete with sample forms and dialogue guides) to successful telemarketing management.

However, what is unique about this volume is that it moves telemarketing into the 21st Century. It removes the "canned" mediocre, scripted pitch approach from telemarketing and replaces it with customer dialogue guides and relationship selling concepts, which make sales, qualified appointments and strong customer relationships.

This book is essential in understanding and implementing profitable customer relationship selling in any business or call center.

Now I feel like I can race!

This Book is a great learning experience for anyone. I liked this book so much I read it twice already! I bought this book because I wanted to know more about NASCAR racing, and now that I read it all cover to cover, I feel like I can go out and win a race. This book totally exceeded my expectaions, and I recommend it for all NASCAR fans. If you are at all interested in racing, then I highly recommend this book. You will find everything a race fan could ever want to know. I found answers to questions I had about Stock car racing, and why they choose to do things that from my perspective, sometimes dont seem right, but always seem to work out ok. I know so much now i will watch the races from a completely different perspective.

What a great guide!

I found this book to be informative and fun to read. I race at the a local level and have used much of this information to help my own program along. I passed it along to my crew members so they can be on the same page I am. We look forward to using more of the information in this book in the coming race season. Thanks to all involved! finally a book on racing with factual usable information.

I believe this book to be one of the most excellent and informative books on the Morgan horse. If you love Morgans or just love horses and want to learn more about this Spectacular breed, then get this book!

Great background info on Morgans
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2003-08-08
This book has a very informative description of the breed, and the most thorough description of the early bloodlines that I have ever seen in print. An absolute must for Morgan lovers, especially if you are an amateur thinking about getting into breeding, or someone with your first Morgan who just wants to know more about the breed origins and general purpose/use. The only thing I did not like about this book is that it does not go far enough! Most of today's living Morgans are far enough removed from these famous horses of the past that it is difficult to figure out (so to speak!) which horses in the book your own horse(s) descend from. It is nonetheless an informative book and a good read, as well.

Another Excellent Resource!
Helpful Votes: 11 out of 11 total.
Review Date: 2001-11-11
This book is essential for the study of Complex Variables, and it is compatible with other texts on the subject. The sections on how to solve complex contour integrals and Laurent Series are especially important since most texts do not provide enough worked examples to give the student an idea of the underlying patterns involved. The section on the use of Residue theory to solve real valued integrals is also very well done. "Complex Variables Problem Solver" is another fantastic product from the folks at REA.

Text books on complex variables DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH WORKED PROBLEMS. This 900+ page softcover does. If you study "Visual Complex Analysis" by Needham (one of my favorites) this will help you do the exercises. The 24 chapters cover everything you would find in a one year course and then some. Each chapter is just one solved problem after another. I found a few misprints but nothing serious. You won't find a better resource and cheap too ! Highly recommended.

A Clear Presentation of Networking

Review Date: 2001-04-22
I really never understood TCP/IP until I read Randall Raus' book, Computer Networks. I didn't really "get" the Internet, especially the interface layer, before reading this book. I recommend it highly to anyone who would like a clear, theoretical explanation of networking and the Internet.

Computer Networks Super Review by Randall Raus is packed with solid information. It explains the highly technical concepts of computer networking in clear, easy to understand language, and covers hot technologies such as DSL and transmission over fiber-optic. Unlike many other texts on networking, it doesn't move to quickly or bore the reader with needless repetition. It is also well organized and has many useful diagrams and tables to help the reader grasp complex concepts. Microsoft Press could learn a few things from this author! A must for the serious student of networking! Victor Roszell, MCSE, BA English.

The Concise Scots Dictionary presents an excellent 816-page source of definitions for Scots words. It also contains 39 pages on the history of Scots, with a clear explanation of the dictionary's format. Two appendices explain Scots currency, weights and measures, as well as churches in Scotland. I have bought it because I rely on it constantly as an invaluable aid to researching Scots history, with particular reference to the Weir family.

Edinburgh University Press puts out this super Scots Dictionary. It's often very hard to find good a Scots Dictionary or a Good Gaelic Dictionary. This one is VERY good. 820 pages worth, not a little pocket size. It has meanings, spelling variants, pronunciation guide, information on when and were words are used denoting area and districts, grammatical information, and idioms & phrases. What I like best about it - entomologies of the words. So many dictionaries leave off the origins of words, which is so very important when writing history and historical fiction.

It's painstakingly edited and without flaws from start to finish. Best of all it's not teeny print. The print is very clear and easy on the eyes!

Highly recommended.
