I bought this book for a stress reduction through movement class but I ended up using it alot more than just in the class. I still look to it as reference and it has led to me getting other books and learning more about wholistic and eastern medicines and practices that I'm glad I know. I've been able to be healthier and just understand what all those tai chi and meditation and chiropractors, etc. are doing. I've saved some money on medications and doctor visits thanks in part to this book. Anyways for a college textbook it is and probably will be the cheapest I'll ever spend. But for a book that outlives its classroom usefulness yes it's great. I'm just sad it is no longer in print but at least it's available here.
It's an excellent book

Full-color photographs and charts outline step-by-step approaches to many varied methods of natural medicine. Balancing Yin and Yang, creating colorful mandalas, acupuncture as anesthesia, whole-body healing, and a wider view of osteopathy are only a few of the many topics covered. Meditation, biofeedback, hypnosis, massge, reflexology, yoga, nutrition, herbs, and many more complementary therapies are investigated. This wonderful text is well-organized and well-indexed, a perfect tutorial for beginners or reference book for practitioners. This is a must-have for the natural healing enthusiast!

Not a day passes during which I do not read of litigation -- or potential litigation -- arising from the management or mismanagement of federal information. If you or a client find yourselves involved on either side of that particular equation, then I highly recommend this well-written and exhaustively-researched book. The author, Stephen Gidiere, is a rising star in the field of federal information law.

The Federal Information Manual provides a wealth of information to anyone interested in how the government stores and discloses information it collects. It is meticulously researched, intelligently organized, and elegantly written. Anyone who has had to wade through the text of the Freedom of Information Act or related statutes will find Stephen Gidiere's book to be a helpful guide. While lawyers will find it to be an invaluable desk reference, the book is a godsend for non-lawyer researchers seeking information from the government. I highly recommend this superb work!

I found this book to be an incredible source for finding your way around the very tricky FOIA and other government information statutes. Anyone who needs access to government records or information, suspects the government is keeping secrets, or wants to keep their private or confidential information protected while in the hands of the goverment needs this book. Despite the complex subject, the Manual is surpisingly easy to read and follow.

Clearly, this book is not for general interest, unless you aspire to be a fireman, but it definitely serves an important purpose. The two volumes are arranged by catagory then divided into chapters within each catagory. It covers fire safety, construction, storage of mateirals, fire suppression, etc. These books address everything to know about fire safety and keeping people safe from fires.
No Facilities or maintenance department should be without this handbook. No fire department should be without it. No insurance company should be without it. The two volumes are quite large, but if one has a question about fire safety, the answer should be in these two voumes.

This book is a complete sporting gun encyclopedia, it has made many of my gun books totally useless as this one looks to be the source of all information other authors used to create their books. Although its the least costing book I own, it is certainly the most valuable one.

Not much more to say. If you purchase, admire, fire, or just drool over old firearms you need to add this book to your shelf. Every bit as important to the collector as the works by the late great George Madis. It is not necessarily a fun or even easy book to read but it is THE authoritative historical reference. If you can get your hands on an original hard-cover edition you'll find that the illustrations are just a bit clearer -- but bring more money.

I was fortunate enough to take my student teaching seminar with one of the authors of this book (Dr. Karen Bosch). Although she is terrific in and of herself, her co-authored book is outstanding. From the first on campus interview with human resources personnel to my first day of teaching, this book had it all. There are chapters to guide you through each step of the process to becoming the first year teacher that we all dream and hope to be. It's written from the perspective of the teacher him/herself. Each thought shared by other first year teachers were echoed through myself during those first few days of teaching. I recommend this book to everyone who is about to embark upon their teaching career and those who are returning to the career after an extended absense. It has been my guide book through everything.

Closterman was a superb writer as this book demonstrates. Written in the fifties it followed up on his book "The Big Show" another must read, especially the shooting down of Yamamoto.
Readers also should read "I fought for the Fuhrer" another fifties book which gave a graphic account of the rise and fall of the Luftaffe from a Luftwaffe ace's point of view.
If American audiences are interested in the real aces in the Battle of Britain then there are some very good books on Stanford Tuck, Al Deere, Sailor Malan, Cocky Dundas et al. The best of these is the biography, by Paul Brickhill, of the legendary Douglas Bader, who was an ace.... minus his legs!!
A proponent of the now dicredited "Big Wing" theories of Leigh Mallory, when Bader was ultimately shot down, with 18 kills to his credit, over France, Adolf Galland personally intervened to allow a British aircraft to drop "spare" legs for Bader (who lost one bailing out).
For anyone wanting the be all and end all encyclopaedies of the RAF then "Aces High" by Shores and Williams lists all British aces with dates and details of all their victories.
For those who want the story of the greatest of them all, then there is a biography of Pat Pattle (50 victories and most likely more) but it is hard to find, but possible on Amazon or its links.

This book shows many of the problems faced by those who served in the front air war during the second world war(1939-1945). It also talks about the hardships of gaining recognition to an airman for a gallant deed. A well written and historically correct book that is extremely interesting to read and enjoy

People say that Patton was a man of action. Ridge manages to draw a perfect parellism between what is needed in warfare and what is needed in business. There is a saying "All is fair in love and war" I think Ridge just added "Business" to that list.

Warren Ridge uses the most prolific military man of the 20th century as a conduit to show us that the business field and the battlefield are in essence the same type of place. He shows us in great detail that applying General Patton's rules of battle to common everyday business situations will give us the edge over the competition.
This book is extremely well written and the Author is truly a scholar of Patton. The jacket of the book calls it the difinitive book on Patton and this comes through "Loud and Clear".
A Must read for the business professional.

After working at a Christian bookstore for over two years I have read a large amount of evangelical literature. Rarely have I read a book twice, but with this book I have read it over 6 times! I have bought over 20 copies to give as presents, and continue to recomend it to friends. Stowell has hit the heart of the issue of what it means to be a "Christian", and how we need to re-focus ourselves to be Followers of Christ rather than leaders of a church, etc. Highly recomended to everyone from a non-believer to the veteran, well read, mature believer.

Wow! Joseph Stowell challenges you to explore what it means to be a follower of Christ. This is not an easy book to read if you like your comfort zone, but it contains a spectacular and thrilling call to put your life on the line, take up your cross and follow Christ. This is one of those books that challenges your preconcieved ideas of Christianity and life with Christ. I don't think I will ever think of following Christ in the same way again. I highly recommend this book.

This is the book to start with for the Quarter Horse pedigree buff. Many pedigree analysts contradict Denhardt from time to time, but be careful, Denhardt was there in the beginning, and did the original research, which was very extensive. He did interviews and collected documents from many of the early Quarter Horse breeders from the late 1800's and early 1900's. A few minor details have since been discovered, and many of those are questionable, but Denhardt was there in the begining and did not have an axe to grind, only love and admiration for good Quarter Horses. He is a straight shooter.

Bob Burke as set an example for writers and researchers that will be hard to match in his wonderful work on Wiley Post. Aviation buffs, Oklahomans and anyone who appreciates a good book that is hard to put down will appreciate "From Oklahoma to Eternity: The Life of Wiley Post and The Winnie Mae". In addition to his excellent journalistic skills, Burke proves himself to be a superb researcher with a desire to mix truth, fact and adventure with a great story about a great man. I have added this book to my personal list of all time favorites and will look forward to more works by Bob Burke. It is so very refreshing to read history (I am a historian) written honestly without loads of mistakes and sloppy research. Keep that word processor fired up Mr. Burke!

What can be said about the most factual biography written about Wiley Post. Kudos to Bob for telling the story of Wiley Post with the utmost accuracy and authenticity. His work brings to the reader a factual and conceise history of one of the worlds greatest avaitors. Once you start you want to read it from cover to cover. For avaition buffs this is a must read. Not only does it give a great deal of insight to the mentality of a fearless flyer, but provides the reader a look at an uneducated man who by dogged detrmination and force of will, circumnavigated the globe and designed the prototype of the modern space suite.
