If you are not familiar with Mr. Adam Jackson, and you are in a search for happiness, you owe it to yourself to listen to this audiobook. The production is phenomenal, but the story is even greater. In a simple way you learn 10 secrets to lead a fulfilled, happy life. I am sure Tony Robbins read it before doing personal power because they have lots of stories and strategies in common. This book is a MUST HEAR ;)

As a recently retired educator with over twenty-five (25) years experience and five (5) years as a High School Principal, I was excited and anxious about re-defining myself, and, launching my business as a Certified Solution Focused Coach.
But, there is an old saying; "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." Well, the Making Powerful Choices workbook and audio series became that teacher for me. It provided a predictable and easy to follow day-by-day 30 minute process that included time to listen, to ponder, to answer questions, to visualize, to access my beyond conscious mind, and to formulate and plan SMART goals. It helped me to come up with even better, more expansive ideas than I had originally dreamed possible. In addition, it POWERFULLY encouraged and supported me to take ACTION on these goals to move me towards living not only a life I love, but my BEST LIFE. I can unequivocally state that this resource is one of the most POWERFUL resources I have encountered both personally and professionally to date. It is truly BRILLIANT.
Having just completed the 30 day Making Powerful Choices workbook and audio series, I now feel re-tired. This resource is providing me with a wealth of information, and exercises backed by tried and true success principles to support me as I support my clients. In fact, such is my belief in the worth of this resource to evoke positive change that I will award a copy of Making Powerful Choices as part of all of my long-term one-on-one coaching agreements. As well, for clients wishing the benefit of learning in community, this resource will be awarded and provide the juice of a QUALITY one-year tele-course.
If you are serious about living your best life, this is the book for you. To all my fellow coaching colleagues, this resource is an absolute MUST HAVE for yourself and your clients.

David Matthews has a wonderful way with words. Pulling on all kinds of diverse cultural references through his autobiographical style of writing which is reminescent of Hunter S Thompson, and which is a joy to follow. His work is highly personal, making astute cultural observations throughout. His honesty is so profound and without fear that you feel more like you are reading his journal.

Outstanding! What manager is not busy? This book is for everyone. Full of simple but powerful tips and easy to remember acronyns but without all the usual jargon and management speak that you so often find. Down to earth practical advice for a hands-on management style that so few managers know how to deliver. An easy and thoroughly enjoyable read with excellent use of icons, graphics and a user-friendly page layout.
It covers coaching techniques - always the best way to manage people in my opinion - problem solving, and goal setting. Highly recommended.

Managing for Sales Results: A Fast-Action Guide for Finding, Coaching, and Leading Salespeople

Rock solid help for sales managers; world class talent.

Review Date: 2008-01-02
I read Managing For Sales Results when it first came out and was floored by how simple Ron Marks has made a topic that brings pain to many, and utter anguish to yet others.

I only wish he would have written it 25 years ago when I got my first taste of leading a sales team.

As Marks says, managing sales people is like trying to provide adult day care -- easily the hardest job in management...hands down.

I immediately understood the things I was doing that were undermining my chances of success; how to change both my own behavior as well as that of those who work with me; and it has given me a solid base for talent management and acquisition.

If you're a sales person and want to learn how great sales managers should operate, this is a valuable read. If I were going back into the field full time, I'd love to think it would be for someone who manages the Ron Marks way. And if you ever want to break into management, then this is a must read.

This book can be devoured in one cross-country flight, or a week's worth of lunches. You're THAT CLOSE to a sales management breakthrough.

Read the book, then hope Marks comes to your city for live workshops. I attended two of his courses and reading the book ahead of time made all the difference in the world.

His teaching style, in person, is just like the book...easy to get into and pick up the information. I've attended other workshops and seminars where the ego of the instructor was such a barrier to learning, and I wound up glad for it to end. Not so with this guy. He's a world class teaching talent.

So, if you're perusing Amazon because sales management hasn't turned out to be the walk in the park it once was made out to be, grab this book and implement just one of Ron Marks' strategies. I believe that you'll quickly be back for the rest.

A great book, with real information

Even though I was a student at Marshall U. from 1967 to 1971, an advid supporter of M.U. sports, and even tried to play a little football there in 1967, I was really surprised to learn what exactly went on at Marshall in the late 1960's and early 1970's. The recent movie WE ARE MARSALL, did not touch on some of the real problems MU was having in its football program along with its other sports. This book explains why the faculty and others wanted to drop the MU football, not the the story-line as presented in the "Hollywood-version" "true story" movie. I was their in that time frame, and I did not remember some of the details as displayed in the movie, but when I read this book all those rumors I really heard in 1969, 1970, & 1971(that I had forgotten about over time), came back to me, and finally made sense.
This book is great and I wish it had come out before the movie. This books presented a better story-line, as it dealt with the truth, and if filmmakers were so inclined, this story would have probably made a better movie.

Morrie Schwartz -- A Teacher to the Last
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2004-09-23
This wonderful book focuses on the meaning of life, from the perspective of a teacher (Morrie Schwartz) who is about to lose his life and his pupil, (Mitch Albom) who has lost his focus on what is important. They come together for 14 Tuesdays (just like they did while the author was a college student at Brandeis) before the professor passes away of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).

This book is filed with the most beautiful sayings you can imagine. Here are a few examples: 'Giving to other people is what makes us feel alive.' 'Love each other or perish.' 'Everybody knows they are going to die, but nobody believes it. If we did, we would do things differently.' 'Learn to detach from experience.'

Many people would avoid a book on this subject, because they do not want to think about death. Although Morrie Schwartz is dying throughout this book, the subject is really about living rather than dying. Few will find the dying to be distressing, even though it is graphically and frequently addressed.

For those of us with many years to live, this book can be a wake-up call to start really living now -- in the ways we would if we were about to die, as well as to learn how to treat others while we still have them with us. For those who have but little time left, this book can be an inspiration for how to get the most out of the remaining time.

You will probably find it heart-warming (as I did) to find out that the advance on this book was paid in time to help defray some of Professor Schwartz's medical expenses.

May you find new meaning in your life from reading this wonderful book! Life is a teacher, and Morrie Schwartz's thoughts can be a text to help you understand the lessons.

The authors draw from different concepts, approaches, and techniques, as well as their own, which gives a wider view, and wider choices for a mentor or coach. What distinguishes this book, from others on the subject, is that you can apply it right away, knowing exactly what you are doing and why, and knowing that it works.

This is the most balanced and practical book I have read on the subject. I've been an international coach and mentor since 1983. If you are a mentor or a coach, get this book - you will learn something. If you want to get into the mentoring or coaching profession, this will be your shortcut to excellence. If you are simply curious about the subject with no special career plan, this will tell you all you need to know about mentoring and coaching. If you are looking for a mentor or coach, it will spell out what you should be looking for - how to recognize quality.

This book is great to use with my students to help them learn what kind of learner they are. It also provides specific strategies for students to use to help them learn in lots of different areas: organizational skills, research, note-taking, spelling, essay writing, and MORE! Very user-friendly!
