Basketball Books

This is one of the best sports books I've ever read because it talked about the hard work that you have to put in to do anything in life. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes sports and wants to do big things in life but feel like they can't.

This is a great commerative issue with some awesome photos from the best basketball team in 2007. a true keepsake for any true basketball fan-well except the ny guy who should be thrown off the boards for his retarted comments.

These guides are great! The format is easy to use and the content is very accessible. Not only are the rules clear but I can now follow the play of the game. I'm going to buy the entire set so that I can understand and enjoy the sports my husband and kids watch on tv.

I have been buying this book each year and have found it to be the best source of information for the upcomming season. Whether you are a fan or a fantasy fanatic this book is a MUST buy

The greatest story ever, on the greatest players ever

I thought this book was pretty good. if you like sports you would love this book. it tells you about the playoffs and world championships and all the games and the pictures are great.

This is a great book. It is written honestly and at a level that most kids can understand. Very nice layout and graphic design. Highly recommended for any girl interested in an inspirational story.

This book lets you know about Kobe Bryant. Kobe played against the Chicago Bulls and the lakers won by 16 points in the first season.Thiis book is important because it tells you what a great Basket ball player he is. This book is organized by Chronological order,and it has stories about him as a boy.
Kobe wass born on August 23, 1978. He is a guard on the lakers team. Kobe whent strait from High school to the NBA!
I appreciate that the author gives the reader the information the reader needs

As a parent who has a couple of kids playing youth and high school basketball, I have found the Survival Guide for Youth Basketball both a quick and informative read on the fundamentals for coaching kids. It is a great source of information and philosophy that coaches and prospective coaches can/should use to help with the coaching of young players.

One of the best qualities of this book is its ability to explain the rational of the various drills and suggested practice routines. Coaches can use these to help explain to young players (and their parents) the necessity of learning the fundamentals before going on to the more advanced aspects of the game. This is especially useful as most young players want to focus on their scoring and shooting, at the expense of good ball handling and defensive skills.

The book has numerous drills, practice routines, and schedules that can be easily understood and incorporated by both novice and experienced youth basketball coaches. The diagrams also really help illustrate the points that the authors are trying to make.

Some of the other neat aspects about the book include:

* The "Coach's Clipboard", which summarizes and helps to reinforce the key points of each chapter in the book

* The "Drill Finder" matrix, which allows the coach to easily find the specific drill(s) needed to help develop specific basketball skills

* Offensive and defensive plays and sets that can be used and understood by beginning players

The single best attribute of this book is that it provides a proven roadmap to all those parents who are getting ready to jump into a coaching role. It is a quick an informative read, and will be used by coaches as their primary reference guide for instructing young kids.
