The works published by the Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget and his associates during the past forty years constitue the largest repositotry of knowledge about the cognitive development of children that is available anywhere, and Piaget's general theory of intellectual development rivals, in scope amd comprehensiveness, Freud's theory of personality development.

Here is a self-contained general summary of Piaget's theory, written at a relatively nontechnical level. It is suitable for use in a variety of courses in psychology and education - child psychology, child development, educational psychology, learning, psychological systems, general psychology, and others. It will also interest professionals and educated laymen as a timely exposition of ideas that are attracting the attention of increasing numbers of American psychologists.

In order to convey the complexities of the theory to readers who have had no previous contact with it, the author uses a number of unusual pedagogical devices. He first outlines the theory in an introduction that students can reread with increasing comprehension as they study the text. The main part of the book is an elucidation of Piaget's research activities to give the theory meaning. The author frequently reproduces passages from Piaget's clinical observations with Piaget's interpretations deleted, so that the reader can assess his own understanding and better appreciate Piaget's style of inquiry. In an epilogue, the author discusses the educational implications of Piaget's work.

Great book! I was unable to set it down wondering what would happen next. The friendships are natural and believable. The adventures will have you turning the pages. This book is about a strong woman who grows stronger everyday. If you like Danielle Steel books you will love "Paper Star".

This is my favourite little league baseball book. McCarthy's positive attitude and ability to explain a difficult game to learn is wonderful not only for parents who have never played, but also for those who have.

I have used his technique of positive reinforcement and releasing the hitter within with my teams over the past few years. It works. His description of the positions and where kids can and should play is really helpful.

Although the basic mechanics and techniques may not satisfy the advanced players, there is enough there to allow any parent to spend some quality time with their kids.

The only criticism I have is that the quality of some of the photos is not the greatest.

This book is such a gift!! I can't put it down! Jackie has given me delightfull sayings, some that I've heard and some that I haven't, to carry with me in my hand, my head and my heart. I just bought three more copies to give to friends! Thank you!!!

Two devotionals for each month, many of which are geared to a holiday or a special day in the month, plus two miscelaneous devotions on the end of the year and stewardship, appear in this collection of all-occasions talks. The meditations are appropriate for group gatherings or personal study. Anyone who is asked to lead devotions will find much good material here.

Poems and Annatations by Brooks, Brauer, Covert and Knight, is a bouguet of spring flowers, from the lips of teenagers, and adults. The simplicity of the rhyme and verse are just a pleasure to read. I would recommend this book for all high school libraries and college libraries--Poetry IS NOT DEAD and will never be, as long as the world's people can express themselves in verse.

If you have a dream of succes and it's not working, this book will encourige you to go on and on till you reach the goal. Schuller tells the reader many stories about world famous people that have succes through "power thoughts". For examples his friend Michail Gorbatjov. The book is simple to read.

I don't know what the substantive difference is between the AA (English) Spiral Guide to Prague and the one that is labeled AAA (presumably American); I bought my copy of this marvelous guide in the UK, so it's the AA guide, but my guess is that it's identical to the AAA version.

This is one of the best guidebooks I've traveled with from a number of standpoints. First, the fact that it is spiral-bound means you can open it flat and keep your place while, say, having a coffee and strudel in one of Prague's cafes. You can even, for that matter, bend it backwards without destroying the binding. Why aren't all guidebooks like this?

Secondly, I quite enjoyed the section in the front of the guide which in a magazine format provides nuggets of Prague's history and culture (e.g., the `Best of Prague,' `Havel to the Castle,' `The Jewish Community,' `Hitler and Stalin in Prague,' etc.) in an easily-digestible format. The information is not exhaustive - just enough to wet your appetite for more and buy books on the topics that interest you.

The guide is printed on high-quality glossy paper, has great photos, excellent maps, and is well-organized. I highly recommend this guide, and plan to look for other books in the Spiral Guide series for future trips.

I taught Algebra and Pre-Algebra for 34 years. This book was an invaluable aid. Students always worked harder to solve these than they did book assignments. If the students needed more practice on a concept or "Extra Credit", these fit the bill. One teaching tip: The answers often get 'shared' rather easily at times so always always always have the students label and show all work.
