This is a great book to ponder through. Great for University students to broaden their horizon.

The title, though funny, is misleading. This is one of the most thoroughly researched books of trivia knowledge that I have ever seen. John P. Campbell has collected trivia on just about everything, including religion(s), animals (cats, dogs, horses, etc.), sexual subjects and just about everything else except the kitchen sink. It is a marvelous read that you can look at, put down and resume at any time. This book is on my list of Christmas gifts I will give to friends, but I am keeping my own copy and not sharing it.

This collection of letters between North Carolina-born Elaine Goolsby, and Liverpool-born Graham Campbell is not merely a collection of letters that they sent back and forth, spanning a 50-year period in their lives. It is a view into their day-to-day lives as well as a view into their very minds, hearts, and souls. In "Letter In A Bottle," the reader is invited to look over the shoulders of these two people who grew up in incredibly different worlds. The reader journies with the letter-writers from the tobacco fields of rural North Carolina to the Liverpool docks, from their seperate spouses, jobs, and family lives to their eventual face-to-face meeting in London's Gatwick Airport in the early 1980s. It is an absolutely irresistable read - pick it up and you won't be able to put it back down!

G. Campbell Morgan is a master expositor. This incisive book is a marvel of expositional insight. It's clear application of the central message of a verse in context of its chapter division is so refreshing and compelling.

This exceptional book is made so because of the man it is about. Dr. Zuhdi is a pioneer in medicine and is a man whose compassion for mankind has been demonstrated time and again. This story truly depicts a journey to success and fulfillment of man that is filled with tidbits of humor, interesting medical facts and soul searching philosphy. I highly recommend it.

Selina Huntington Bakewell Campbell (1802-1897) had it right, when she advised a young convert, "Let many of your evening hours be set apart for reading works that will strengthen your faith, and enlarge and ennoble your mind."

Little did she know that her advice would one day apply to a wonderful book about herself, The Life of Selina Campbell: A Fellow Soldier in the Cause of Restoration. Selina, the second wife of Alexander Campbell, was a great Christian leader in her own right.

The book is well researched and cites many primary sources. It teaches much about the lives of nineteenth-century American frontier women and Selina Campbell. One is also led to appreciate the the influence Selina had on her husband and what has become known as the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement (the religious bodies of the Disciples of Christ, Christian Church/Church of Christ, and Churches of Christ).

The book includes an extensive bibliography and an index.

Stephen F. Austin was a thoughtful, reflective man who once declared his aim to be to conquer the wilderness of Texas by the axe, the plow, and the hoe. He recognized that such as enterprise, unlike the work of a successful military chieftain, would attract little notice. Thus it was that almost a hundred years had passed since Austin' death when this first full-length biography of Austin was published.

This book is the product of long and painstaking compilation of all pertinant and available materials to be found in the United States and Mexico and is the indispensible authority for the history of the Anglo-American beginning in Texas.

Her sister and I were friends at boarding school. These were the days of zero tolerance and ugly names. How very brave of her to persevere and become this wonderful person. I knew her as Georgie, back then. People were very unkind with derogatory statements and jokes. I wish I had been closer to lend my support. I am so thrilled to see that she has emerged the Swan, she always knew she was. So many of lesser fortitude would have ended it. Last seen at a funeral in Grand Cayman, she was stunning!
