Black moves the reader quickly through a war torn post World War II Berlin. While the concentration camp survivors try to pick up where Hitler's madness left off, two people are left to do battle: One evil Nazi doctor and the Jewish victim that has recognized and threatened his very existence. We are left running under the bleak and dark skies of Germany's guilt ridden nightmare asking the question: Where's the justice in a world that is either black or white, right or wrong. This moral spine tingler will stay with the reader long after the book is put back on the shelf. Black can sure write one hell of an adventure novel

The content fits the title

I am a PT with 13 years of experience. The last 6 years consisted mostly of a pediatric case load. I purchased this book due to its title.

At first I found the first chapter a little overwhelming. I scanned over it and continued reading the rest of the book. I found the book fascinating, and was unable to put it down during some free time in the summer. I finished the book reading chapter 1 again.

The opening chapter describes models for decision making that may be helpful to clinicians in reflecting on their practice. Each contributor in the book, an expert in her field, has reviewed the recent literature on her topic and has presented case reports on children from her practice. In their case reports the contributors elaborate on the bases for their choices of goals, the measures used to document problems and progress and the intervention provided.

Both the novice and experienced pediatric PT will benefit from this book.

Reflecting back, my excitement after reading just the title was rewarded by improved patient care after reading the content.

Organization Structure that Follows Strategy of the Firm
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2004-05-22
There are many books on organizational design written by experts in organizational design. However, structure of an organization should follow the chosen strategy. This book by Goold and Campbell is rare in that it is written by higly credible team of Goold and Campbell, both experts in the field of corporate strategy. This is most rigorous book on connecting structure of an organization to strategy of the firm. It provides excellent frameworks of analysis. It is as if Good and Campbell have "done a Michael Porter" on the issue of organization design!

At a minimum the authors have brought to the subject of organization design the sort of rigor that we are familiar with in the strategy field. An excellent addition to the field!

Another great source for information concerning the darker side of Magick, Religion, Myth and Legend.

This is a great source of information on the Darker side of magical perceptions, myths and legends as culled from ancient and rare sources. There is a plethora of material on demonic origins, attributes, protective measures against them and exorcism. Any person considering themselves a demonologist would want this work on their bookshelf. Great reading!

A True Historical With Real Romance
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2007-11-08
I was immediately attracted to the era Ms. Campbell was portraying in her story. Post World War II romance was something I'd never seen before. This story is beautiful and true to the time it depicts.
Cassie and Scott are real characters and their love story is told with a gentle touch that had me turning page after page. The relationship between Cassie and her mother was a source of both conflict and poignancy. I was extremely impressed with L.K. Campbell's ability to keep the characters true to the time period. She is a talented author with a new fan.
Don't be put off by the fact that this is self published. It is clear that this book was brilliantly crafted and given strict attention to detail.
I loved this book. If you're looking for a sweet romance, this is the one.

An *excellent* tool for anyone starting in web or print design
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.

What i really liked about this tome was how broad it is. it covers a broad range of topics from software and hardware, to business practices and setting up a workflow.

i come from more of a technical background, so much of the hardware and software recommendations were old hat for me, (btw, make sure you pick up the newest revision of this so that it's suggestions are most relevent).

The business practices section was fantastic, as it detailed ways for you to work with clients and freelancers, dealing with employees, setting deadlines, and keeping track of timelines, project planning, and strengthening your workflow so that you can get your inspiration down when it strikes, rather than getting bogged down with all the details.

As a web designer the print, layout and fontography sections were of particular interest, as in this day, your project may likely end up in any number of media formats, even displayed on a number of devices.

While i wouldn't say this is the end all book, it has alot of great reference material, and it's a good jumping spot to follow up on deeper subject like XHTML, CSS.

In all, a very good investment.

Dissipated Thoughts

Review Date: 2008-06-18
David Zimmermann's words are chosen with the sensitivity of a gentleman who insists on the best of everything. Dissipated Assets is funny, thoughtful, historical, scathing, tender and deep. Zimmermann is a 62-year-old gay artist who has spent a lifetime chronicling the moodiness and strengths of those whose paths he crossed. Scottish military heroes, ranting fundamentalists, women's skirts, silver dimes, popcorn in Waxtex sacks, AIDS and Condoleezza Rice are targets of Zimmermann's emotional explosions and chary guardianship.
Really, this book of poems stimulates poetry lovers and converts poetry neophytes into devotees.
