Comes in handy when you least expect it.

Especially good and recommended for our foreign (non-native-English) students in any engineering discipline, new students, transfer students, and serious hobbyists and inventors in electronics.

I'M SO GLAD I HAPPENED TO BE HOME WHEN THIS BOOK ARRIVED, WORK WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ANNOYANCE IF IT MEANT I COULDN'T DEVOUR THIS BOOK IMMEDIATELY. ALTHOUGH I HAVE A MODEST HOME, I CAME UP WITH DOZENS OF IDEAS IN THE FIRST HOUR. IF YOU ARE GOING TO SEARCH FOR IDEAS, ONLY CHOOSE FROM THE BEST. THESE ARE DOABLE. I AM A DECORATING AFFICIANDO AND HAVE MOST OF BEST BOOKS OUT THERE. THIS IS NUMBER ONE ON MY LIST! ONE CAVEAT....SUNSET ALSO PUTS OUT A BOOK CALLED "ENTRYWAYS" WHICH HAS A LOT OF THE SAME MATERIAL. DON'T GET THE TWO CONFUSED, AND ONLY BUY ONE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PARTICULAR ONE. I'M READY FOR MY PROJECTS!

Very useful information, organized in an extremely intuitive fashion. I found it somewhat liberating to browse subjects according to their categories. I think it is an essential homeowner's guide. Would recommend it to anyone who owns a home or is thinking of owning a home.

This is an excellent book on Medieval Textiles. The dictionary not only describes the textiles as identified by cloth names from the period, but often has photos of examples.

Written in French with no English translation, it is still worth the effort for an English speaking person to painstakingly translate the passages one wants to know about.

There is a new edition out. It is exhaustively revised and available in Europe. Hopefully, Amazon will soon show both new and used copies on its website.

A good primer (pun intended) on exterior paint style and paint in general. Lovely photos of houses.

I've had this book for over ten years, and have made several projects from it. It probably is not ideal for those with only basic sewing skills, as the projects describe proportions rather than measurements (so that they can be adapted to any home), but I have had good results. As a book to inspire, it is wonderful. Paine has created beautiful interiors and has many creative ideas for transforming spaces with fabric.

I was in the process of trying to find information and building plans so that I could build my own rustic cabin in my wooded back yard. I had searched various book stores and online for a book that contained all the information I was looking for (pictures, plans, detailed building instructions). I came across this book at my local library and upon flipping through the pages I discovered that it was the exact resource I was looking for. This book is great for anyone who is looking to build their own backyard or back country mini cabin or guest house. It gives all the details that a novice builder needs to complete a project. Some projects are very detailed while others are not, but it is just what I was looking for. I highly recommend this book.

I really like this book. It is so simple to understand. It has real life photographs showing exactly how to do it yourself. I am a woman and find it hard to find a book that makes it so simple. It is well worth it's price considering the money you save by doing it yourself. I checkeed it out at the library but will be purchasing my own for sure!

It would be morally wrong for me to give this book anything less than five stars, seeing as it was written by my granfather. However, while, this book is outdated by some years it is extremely informative and quite interesting to read. And for the radio lover, electrician, or engineer this book can be useful for a weekend project with children.

The Filmwriters Guide is not only an excellent reference--it lists not just produced movie credits but also development projects which is really cool for film geeks like me--but the interviews with experienced screenwriters are always entertaining and insightful. Working screenwriters talking honestly about their work and careers is hard to find but these interviews are always good.
