As a big fan of Jim Clark and the Indianapolis 500, I had to have this book for my very large Indianapolis 500 memorabilia collection. Although Lotus wasn't the first rear-engine race car in Indianapolis 500 (Jack Brabham did it in 1961 with a Cooper-Climax), the Lotus was the most successful of the mid-1960's marques. Jim Clark won the the 1965 Indianapolis 500 and the Lotus he drove was the first rear-engine race car to win the race. The "Old Guard" was upset that they got beat by a Green car but soon everyone either had a Lotus or a Lotus clone. In addition to winning the Indianapolis 500 in 1965, Jim Clark finished 2nd in the 1963 and 1966 races.

Many fans of motor racing and of the Indy "500" in particular are always on the lookout for more inside stories and details about the men who race and the teams behind them. This book gives the inside story of Lotus' involvement at Indianapolis in great heaping handfuls. Unlike many motor racing books which focus primarily on facts and statistics, Ferguson adds a great deal of his personal perspective into the book. There is even an account about the author and Colin Chapman competing for the attention of the same woman! Even though the book focuses on Lotus, it is a valuable reference for anyone who wants to learn more about the big bucks and politics involved with racing at "The Speedway" in the 1960's. Packed with great B&W as well as color photographs.

I have thousands of books in my 30+ years of ministry, as a Pastor and a Missionary. This small book gives a glimpse of how the church should be. I not only read this book but have planted and established several churches with Rev. Iverson's theology of church leaders.

I also find it quite interesting that while in Africa these teachings flowed better and much more accepted then here in the USA.

I am a pastor and have a couple thousand books of my own. Of those I have a couple dozen I wish I could see get into the hands of every Born-again Christian Church Leader. This is one of those books. On this subject, the only book I've read that I like better is Watchman Nee's very hard to find book: The Normal Christian CHURCH Life. This book differs from that one in that Nee's small book deals just with the Theology of Team ministry whereas this one covers a lot of the practical application of those Biblical principles as well. These principles could be church-life changing for many a weary and struggling pastor. Can't afford a 2nd/3rd staff member? Can you afford not to hire one? Take a cut in pay if you have to, until the extra man draws in enough new membership to defray his cost. But DON'T ruin your health, your marriage and family life, and your ministry trying to be a little bit of all the ministries God never called you to, while NOT exercising the precious gifts God did give the Body of Christ through you. Get the book, you won't regret it.

When Stevie points out how "helpful" Veronica is and gets the job of showing around a visiting Italian horse team, (a job that Veronica wanted) she doesn't expect this kind of revenge coming her way. Turns out, "someone" volunteered Stevie to run the Children's Hospital Festival, the school's Spring Fair, and debate for class president all on the same day. What's worse, Kate and Christene plan on visiting that weekend as well. Just when it turns out that Stevie won't have time for anything anymore, Mrs. Reg prompts them to see the problem in a different way. With the help of Carole, Lisa, Phil, Kate, Christene, and all four of the Italian boys, Stevie's able to pull everything off AND get back at Veronica! This book was one of the most delightful of the whole series. There's fun and laughs to be had on this whacky saddle club adventure. How did Stevie do it? That's for me to know, and for you to find out.

I liked this book a lot since the Saddle Club rides horses, KAte and Christine come, and they get even with Veronica.

This is a great book on Team Roping by author Leo Camarillo & I could be Joe Beaver the team roping (header) & my team roping (heeling) partner Alica Foster or Stephen Shore.

This is the man who turned team roping into an art form. It would be cool to do team roping in Las, Vegas Nevada at The National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas & Mack Center & other places would be cool & fun!

Leo Camarillo has a wife named Sharon & they live near Lockeford, California & continue to compete and win at rodeos throughout the country. Leo has a brother Jerold & cousin Reg Camarillo also conducts roping schools for aspiring ropers.

Now when two cowboys rope a steer, they must brand it & let it go back to it's mother...

I loved it!!!

i found this book at a time in my roping career where as most people get sometimes think they know it all and this book really helped me get back to the fundimentals and greatly improved my times, it also helped me with heeling where i was self taught and fairly concistent i am now as good a heeler as i am a header (almost). the book braught me back to the fundimentals, i think if it helped me it can help you.

From the first page, the author takes the reader off down a road full of page-turning suspense and clever intriguing plots. By adding the elements of wealth, fast cars and high fashion, a dimension of dazzling glamour is added to the story. As I was reading, I could already visualize this as a movie for the big screen; with such challenging characters, what fun it would be to cast this movie.

If you love a book that is packed full of action, intrigue, good versus evil, suspense, a bit of the mystical, humor, and a cast of unique characters, you'll love this book. Author Gerold really did his homework. Gary Gerold's love of sharp, classy fashions, foreign cultures, rare timepieces, and fast, exotic cars adds richness, fun, and realism to every scene. The first book in a trilogy, The TEAM Versus the Empire of Arrogance is a journey not to be missed! -CL Stewart

Very well written book that chronicles the 1984 football season of legendary superstar Clark Kennington and his supporting cast in Highland Park's drive for the Texas football title

What a great season and a great time for these young men. The team truly did have heart and these boys really did turn into men through their experience together. A feel good book with history and Texas high school football. Great combination!

I couldn't belive it when I went through the atic of my house and found my tatterd and well-used copy of The Team On and Off the Set. Ever since Ghostwriter went off the air, I've missed Gabby, Jamal, Lenni, Tina, Alex, and Rob, my only insight into the world of mysteries on TV. I grew up with the show, and to read the book was going back in time to my childhood again. Thank goodness it's on reruns on the cable channel Noggin now!

Ghostwriter was always my favorite show. I was pretty upset when it went off the air. One day, I just happened to find a copy of "The Team On and Off the Set" at a used bookstore. I was so happy! This book tells a lot of information about the actors of Ghostwriter. It's a perfect book for any Ghostwriter fans!

James Lewis presents team based project management in a clear and easy to understand method. The main points out highlighted making it easy to re-review those topics. I recommend this book for all Project Managers.

When I purchased this book, I half expected it to say how a Project Leader has to have personal skills and give some general suggestions about doing it. It surpassed my expectations, by being very practical.

I can see many of the suggestions he makes working on the company I work for. At the end of several chapters, Lewis provides some tasks you can get to work on to build your team, and keep it working.

Lewis writing style is great. He gives a lot of references, while keeping a good pace. He knows how to support his arguments on other authors without turning his book into an academic textbook.

I think a great companion book for this one would be "Getting It Done: How to lead when you are not in charge", since, IMHO, "Team-Based Project Management" is especially useful when you have the Project Manager title.

This book has a lot of things that will help your Team be a Team !

What an excellent guide for any company that currently has SDWT or is contemplating the idea. A must have! This book will guide you through the process, covering all topics from beginning to end. I love the completeness of the meeting management section! If you have ever sat through an unproductive, b-o-r-i-n-g meeting and desperate for productive, engaging meetings this book is for you! Although weary of teaming in the beginning, the use of the concepts in this book has increased productivity to 30%, we are all on board now! The transformation is sometimes painful and not at all easy, but in the end is worth it. Higher productivity, employee morale, product quality and employee engagement is all yours if you stick to the program! Avid business reader, this book is priceless!!

Here is the basic concept of "Teamnet": the word "team" implies a group which is small, in the same place, and tightly coordinated; the word "network" implies connectivity which tends to be large, spread out, and loosely linked. "Teamnet" brings the best of both together. Lipnack and Stamps organize their excellent material within two Sections and then provide an Afterword ("The Risk of Democracy: Teamnets as the Hope for the 21st Century") and a Reference Section ("Transforming Bureaucracies and Systems"). The authors assert that teamnets create the "great competitive advantage of boundary crossing" and I agree. They identify "Five Teamnet Principles" (unifying purpose, independent members, voluntary links, multiple leaders, and interactive levels), explaining precisely how these principles shape and inform teamnetting initiatives. What I found especially interesting and informative are their analyses of various organizations which have created and sustained successful teamnets.

I want to stress two points when highly recommending this book. First, it was valuable in 1993 when first published but is even more valuable now because of all of the opportunities which the WWW continues to create. Eventually all organizations will be directly or indirectly involved in globalization, for example. The "Five Teamnet Principles" will continue to create almost unlimited potential applications. Also, with all due respect to major international corporations such as those the authors examine, I think their observations and suggestions will be of even greater value to small-to-midsize organizations in which teamwork and connectivity are not only desirable but indeed imperative.
