under a different ISBN number with the title The History and Evolution of Sailing Yachts which is a much larger coffee table sized book however containing in every other respect the same book. In fact the book that arrived in the mail does not even have the :From Technique to Adventure in its title anywhere - it is called the same thing as the book I already owned which is a bummer because I was really looking forward to a new book by this author. Now I have to return it. What a mess.

This was my least favorite Mustang Mountain book. Are you supposed to like and feel bad for Alison? She was very bratty. It was an okay book, but I am not crazy about it. All the other Mustang Mountains are pretty good, though!

"Foxy loves Lance" - it had been true when she was a teenager, but now...? No longer a gangly adolescent, Foxy was still attracted to Lance, but his involvement with auto racing scared her even while his slightest touch thrilled and tormented her.

It wouldn't be easy for them to compromise, but compromise they would as they moved closer to the final victory of the heart and the intimacy of passion based on love.

Can I Rate this Book a Negative Number???

This is by far the most awful, horrible book I have ever read in my life... really. If you want to waste time and money to buy it and read it - go ahead, but it would be exactly that - a total waste. The writing was extremely poor and bordered on a second-grade vocabulary. There was less than zero chemistry between any of the characters - I mean, the lead male continually tells his wife/girlfriend to shutup, he calls her an idiot, and he tries to drown her in the bathtub a few weeks into the marriage - that's romantic???!!! There was no respect between any of the characters at all. I have no idea what the other reviewers were reading, but I think anything with the name Nora Roberts gets a high rating just because. This was one of her earlier works (perhaps the first? or very close to it), and I know she's improved. Just stay away from this book and I would assume anything of hers written pre-fame because it's likely to be just as awful. A terrible waste of printing money and materials. AWFUL!

THE HEART'S VICTORY is a cute story - one of those feel good tales with no thinking involved. It's a perfect escape hatch from the rat race of life.

THE HEART'S VICTORY revolves around the world of auto racing and love long denied. Life changing decisions are necessary in the lives of the two main characters (Lance and Foxy) but will they be conducive with love?

Foxy was raised around the race circuit and Lance has always been a part of her life. The major conflict is that Lance still sees Foxy as a child, even though she's grown into a woman who specializes on photographing sporting events all over the world. These two are thrown back together when Foxy takes an assignment photographing the world of racing, including her brother's racing team, which now includes Lance as the backer. Confused? I was too for a good portion of this story and it left me with a sense of not really knowing the characters or what was going on in the book. Sparks fly between the two of them which is inevitable and only then does the story get a bit interesting. We find out what happened years ago to make Foxy leave racing and go out on her own in a completely different profession.

This is not typical Nora Roberts with stereotypical characters: a macho, good-looking former race car driver turned owner (Lance); a younger, attractive girl turned woman (Foxy) raised on the race circuit; and a small group of support characters fading in and out of the story without much of a glimpse as to why they are really involved.

There isn't much in this book that's memorable but is an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. But it does falls into the average range.

I don't even like racing!

This is a classic Nora Roberts book- and I loved it! The story focuses around car racing- which holds absolutely NO interest for me, yet I couldn't put this book down. That says a lot about the lure of the romance.

Foxy grew up on the racing circuit, her brother is now a big racing star, and she returns to be the photographer for a story on him. She meets up with the man she once had a girlhood crush on- the financer of her brother's car, and his best friend. They discover a mutual attraction but they rub each other the wrong way.

This book is sweet and I love that although the characters are beautiful and brilliant they also have flaws. I recommend picking this book up!

This book was disappointing. The only redeeming value was that it led me to other books about adventurers whom I would have not otherwise known. This book misses the richness of travel and adventure. You don't need to buy this book. Simply skim it in a book store and see where it leads you.
