I appreciate that the two main characters are sisters- I can relate to that dynamic. You really have a desire for everything to work out for them. The story is so compelling that I read it in one day!

I so enjoyed reading this book that I had a hard time putting it down. Jaycee's imagery and attention to detail made you feel like you were right there living in the picturesque English village with the Hasties. I was always cheering Bella and Emily on as they worked through their life experiences and learned about who they really are. Each character in the book was developed so well that you feel like you know them. I'm excited that we'll be treated to another story in the ongoing lives of the Hastie girls and where their journey leads them next.

Good Read!

I enjoyed this book very much. It is a charming story of the bond between sisters. When fate tries to seperate the girls through lifes challenges they turn to each other for the love and support that only a sister can give.
Good beginning for a firt time author. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I took this book with me everywhere I went. I could not wait to see what would happen next in the dramatic lives of these sisters. Fox's descriptive writing takes you to another place and time. A complete escape but with a resounding familiarity as far as the coming of age themes anyone can relate to. I would really like to see her do a sequel to this or possibly even go farther back to the early 1900's to glimpse the lives and adventures of their parents. I think I have found a new favorite author who has mastered the craft of a gripping drama with the right touch of humor and beautiful pastoral descriptions while keeping it clean compared to the path some authors take to lessen and distract from the storyline with over-done profanity, violence etc.

Ian Kinncaid had to leave his family behind years ago after an argument with his father escalated. He joined the rangers and later became an undercover agent. For the last five years he has worked in Eastern Europe against a crime organisation that deals in drugs and prostitution. But then sadistic and aggressive Elianya Helinski, the crime lord's sister, starts into child pornography, which goes too far, even for her brother's taste. When he decides to have Ian take her out, she sends an assassin after him. That assassin is former secret service agent Rori Maitland, aka The Raven. When she starts to suspect that Ian is an undercover agent, she decides to help him. While trying to find and kill Elianya, Ian discovers her 'film set' and Darya, a five-year-old girl who was sold to the child-porn ring. After she had to witness her sister's rape and murder she is traumatised. Ian and Rori decide to take Darya with them and to go to the USA to protect the little girl and Ian's family, who might be at risk since his cover was blown. Rori and Ian, who have spent many years on their own since they couldn't let anyone in on their lives, seem to have found the perfect partner in the other. But Elianya wants revenge after Ian destroyed her source of income and she comes after him and his family...
This book, like the others in the Deadly-series, is simply impressive. The author writes very convincingly and with a lot of depth about difficult topics, be it child pornography and abuse and its effects on the victims, or the difficulties of being an undercover agent. As all her books, this one is very intelligent, well-written, suspenseful and the romance is great, too. It can be read on its own, but it's more fun to know the rest of the series, of course. The titles would be: Deadly shadows, Deadly ties, and Deadly Obsession. There seem to have been plans for a fifth book, but that one hasn't been published yet. Since this one doesn't leave you hanging, that's not too frustrating, but I hope that Quinlan Kinncaid will get his own book sometime. At the moment, the books are difficult to get (the publisher is selling only directly and doesn't deliver to internet shops or distributors), but hopefully that will change again. It's definitely worth buying, as is the rest of the series. The quality reminds me of J. D. Robb, but it's original / different, too.

Ian Kinncaid is working undercover. When he is hired to kill Elianya, an evil woman who thrives on destroying others, he discovers her sickening new business venture. Meanwhile, Rori, also known as the assassin The Raven, is contacted by Elianya to kill Ian. Rori decides that Ian doesn't seem like the usual mark and switches sides. As Ian And Rori save Elianya's young victim, another hit is put out on Ian. They have to flee to save their lives. Ian returns to his family in hopes that by hiding under his unknown true identity, they will be safe. But what Elianya's wants, Elianya gets, and she wants Ian to pay.

In Deadly Games we finally get to meet the mysterious Ian Kinncaid. Ian plays a small, yet crucial part, in the previous Kinncaid Brothers' books. Ian's story is well worth the wait. This suspenseful, action-packed, and thrilling story kept me on the edge of my seat. Rori is truly the only woman for Ian. Their similar backgrounds allow them to trust and
understand each other. Ian is a strong, hard man on the outside, and compassionate and loving on the inside. He is charming, sexy, and noble. The epitome of a knight in shining armor. Deadly Games is another excellent romantic suspense from Jaycee Clark.

This was the first book I read in the series. It hit every emotion, the characters personalities were consistent throughout and it was very easy to like the two characters and want to see them together.
The pace was fast and I liked the fact that the author let the physical tension build instead of them "getting together" immediately in the book.
I have already placed an order for the rest of the books (I had to go directly to the publisher website since for some reason Amazon isn't still selling them all).

Christian Bills was raped and abused as a teenager. In the end, she managed to escape but never dared to do anything against the man who did this to her because he is rich and powerful and always managed to kill those who helped her in the past. After her escape she was taken in by the Kinncaid family who treated her like a daughter. But just when she and Brayden Kinncaid discover that their feelings go beyond friendship and get closer to each other, the man from her past finds her and starts stalking her. Now her new family is at risk and Christian has to face the things she tried to forget for so long...
The author takes on sensitive and painful topics with child abuse, rape, and stalking, but she does it in a very convincing manner and never gets tasteless or cheap. The topic and the characters have a lot of depth. It's an intelligent and suspenseful book that's definitely worth buying. The romance is also very well done without simplifying what Christian and Brayden have to overcome to become a happy couple. It's actually the third book in a series (after Deadly Shadows and Deadly ties, part four is Deadly games), but can be read on its own. At the moment, it's difficult to get (the publisher is selling only directly and doesn't deliver to internet shops or distributors), but hopefully that will change again. It's definitely worth buying, as is the rest of the series. The quality reminds me of J. D. Robb, but it's original / different, too.

Christian has been part of the Kinncaid family for years. She helps raise Brayden's daughter. Christian has been in love with Brayden for a long time. Recently Brayden discovered his feelings for Christian go beyond friendship. As Christian and Brayden try to work through their new found feelings, a terrible evil slithers it's way back into Christian's life. She thought she was safe, she thought it was in the past, but she was wrong. Threats turn to violence and Christian is attacked. Her secrets are slowly being revealed. Christian tries desperately to keep herself and her loved ones safe. With the Kinncaid's help she may succeed.

The suspense and emotion in Deadly Obsession is over the top. Very intense and often times dark, I simply could not put it down. I was on pins and needles the whole time. The dialogue among the characters is so realistic I feel like I'm in the scene with them. Deadly Obsession is extremely emotional. Anyone sensitive to reading violence towards women should be aware that Deadly Obsession contains many scenes and recollections of brutality Christian suffered. Brayden and Christian's relationship overflows with love, passion and friendship. Deadly Obsession is a story with a lot of pain, but it is also a story about healing, self preservation, love, and acceptance. Deadly Obsession is heart-wrenching and heart-warming .

Jesslyn Black lost her husband and children in a car accident a few years ago. Since then she has led a secluded and unhappy life as an author in a smalltown. Then Aiden Kinncaid, the successful CEO of a hotel chain run by his family, rents a room at her house to oversee the opening of a new resort in town. He has his own problematic past to overcome. The two feel attracted, but since both are very strong-headed the sparks are flying in more than one way. And then a serial killer first kills Jesslyn's friend and targets her as a witness. Will Aiden be able to protect Jesslyn and will she find the courage to open herself to love and life again?
I was quite impressed with this book. The characters - including the killer - have depth, the plot is very good, there's humour and intelligence, and the whole reading experience was very enjoyable. It's a great debut and the other titles in the series (Deadly obsession, Deadly ties, Deadly games) are even better. So this is definitely worth buying. It's different from J. D. Robb, but I think you could enjoy this if you like her Eve Dallas-series.

Jesslyn has suffered many heartbreaks in her life. She has lost loved ones over and over. This time it is her close friend, and it happens the night she meets Aiden Kincaid.Aiden comes to Colorado to oversee the opening of his family's hotel. He is renting Jesslyn's house and from the first moment he meets Jesslyn, Aiden is thrust into the danger surrounding her.

As Jesslyn and Aiden's relationship grows stronger, the killer begins stalking her. Aiden wants Jesslyn safe and close and preferably in his arms. With Jesslyn feeling the same, they begin to help each other heal from their painful pasts. Joining the fray is the rest of the Kincaid family. They are a tight-knit group, combining forces to keep Jesslyn out of danger. Aiden's parents and his brothers are willing to do everything in their power to help and protect her. But the madman still stalks. It's going to take all of them to stop the killer before he can get to Jesslyn. Will it be enough?

Deadly Shadows, the first in the Kincaid Brothers series, plays out like a movie. I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who the murderer was, what his motives were, and when he would get caught. Jesslyn is witty and charming. I wanted her to find happiness so badly. She kept me laughing and rooting for her. Aiden is sexy, strong, capable and loving. Jaycee Clark is a wonderful storyteller. I could feel the emotions of the characters: their tension and fear, passion and pain. I was completely drawn into the story. Deadly Shadows is an excellent romantic suspense and I am eager to read more!

Taylor Reese, a social worker who really cares about helping kids in need, has just been divorced from an unhappy marriage and now lives alone with her adopted son, Ryan. Ryan is the 8-year-old son of a drug-addict and criminal mother who mistreated and almost killed him in the past. Through the case of a young girl who's beaten by her father, Taylor gets to know and falls in love with Dr. Gavin Kincaid. Gavin soon starts to care about not just her, but Ryan, too. But no sooner has the boy started trusting him and opening up a bit more than his mother breaks out of prison and comes after him and Taylor. She wants her son back and to punish everyone who was responsible for taking him away from her...
This is the second book in the Deadly-series, but it can be read on its own. Like the first in the series (Deadly Shadows), the characters are well-developed, interesting and convincing, so is the plot, it's intelligent and there's also some humour. It's simply a high-quality book that's definitely worth your time. At the moment, it's difficult to get (the publisher is selling only directly and doesn't deliver to internet shops or distributors), but maybe that will change again. It's definitely worth buying, as is the rest of the series (Deadly Shadows, Deadly Obsession, Deadly Games). The quality reminds me of J. D. Robb, but it's original / different, too. Give it a try!

A chance encounter brings Taylor into the Kinncaid home. Taylor thinks Gavin is bossy and overbearing. Gavin thinks Taylor is stubborn and contrary. Yet the attraction between them is undeniable. As Taylor and Gavin begin to tentatively form their relationship, a dangerous and twisted foe from Taylor's and her son Ryan's past threatens to destroy all of their lives. The only way Taylor, Gavin, and Ryan will be able to move on and find happiness is if their evil adversary is stopped.

I really enjoyed Deadly Ties. Jaycee Clark has a way with words that draws me into the story completely. The sexual anticipation between Gavin and Taylor is intense. Each time they share a "first" I feel butterflies taking flight my belly. It is so romantic and hot. In addition, the warmth and compassion of the Kinncaid family shines through. Another great Kinncaid Brothers tale, Deadly Ties is an emotion-filled, exciting story, combining suspense and passion perfectly

The Revenge by Jaycee Clark

Lorenzo and Reya have lived for centuries as werecats, with and without each other. They have been separated for hundreds of years because Reya discovered Lorenzo with another woman and refuses to be with him now. When they meet again, this time Lorenzo is determined to make it last forever. Along with convincing Reya that they are meant to be together, Lorenzo and Reya are fighting the old foe that drove them apart in the first place. Surrounded by danger and passion, Lorenzo and Reya fight for their lives and their love.

The Revenge is entertaining and steamy. Lorenzo and Reya are two passionate, strong characters. There is a lot of history in Lorenzo and Reya's relationship and I enjoyed reading about it.

Rain On The Mountain by Elaine Corvidae

In the small rural town of Pickerel county a gruesome murder is discovered. Detective Tricia Starnes and her partner are put on the case. While investigating, Tricia spots a jaguar in a tree but it quickly runs off and a man appears seemingly out of nowhere. Pascal is a shape shifter who is on the hunt for an evil being that he is convinced is responsible for this killing, as well as others. Tricia and Pascal join forces to find the killer and in the process find their relationship growing from partners to lovers.

Rain On The Mountain is a scary, thrilling story. I don't usually enjoy stories written in the first person, but I was captivated by the eeriness and suspense of this story. I liked the personalities of the characters as well. I would have liked to see more romance between Pascal and Tricia. Rain On The Mountain is more thriller than romance, but keeping that in mind, it is well-written and intriguing.

Lynx To The Pharaoh by Shelley Munro

Charlotte has traveled from England to Egypt with her brother William to sight-see. Or so Charlotte thinks. Sethmet lives in Egypt. He's a shape shifter, a lynx, guarding the Pharaoh's tomb. William and his friend Justin are looking for treasure and will stop at nothing to discover and steal it while Sethmet and Charlotte are exploring their attraction to each other. William and Justin have plans for Charlotte as well, but Sethmet is determined to have her for his own and build a life with her while guarding the Pharaoh's tomb and loving each other.

I enjoyed the passion between Charlotte and Sethmet, they are a beautiful couple. The story was interesting as well. Sethmet is lusty and charming. Lynx To The Pharaoh is an entertaining and enjoyable read.

Animal Instinct by Michelle M. Pillow

Viktor was rescued by Eve while in his panther form. As he healed he learned all of Eve's secrets and fantasies. What he wants now is to claim her for his own. But first Eve needs to know his secret. Accepting Viktor for what he is and having him in her life permanently are just two of the obstacles Eve faces in her desire to be with Viktor.

Animal Instinct is a very erotic, romantic, and arousing story. I love Victor's smooth, sexy charm. While in his panther form Victor learns all of Eve's secret desires, and as a man he fulfills them. Animal Instinct is delicious and hot. I really enjoyed it.

Best Intentions by Mandy M. Roth

Bray meets Lily when she comes to rent one of his cabins for the weekend. Bray is a Lycan, and although he senses that Lily is human, he is instantly and intensely attracted to her. Lily feels the same strong attraction. Since she came to the cabin looking for a weekend of hot sex, Lily is eager and willing to act on their attraction. However, there is a lot going on in Lily's life and a lasting relationship is not what she seeks. When Lily flees the morning after their passionate night together, Bray assumes that it's because she knows he is a shape shifter. But there is more to Lily's disappearance and Bray is determined to figure it out and claim Lily as his mate.

There is some sweet, hot sex in Best Intentions. I love Lily and Bray's passion. Because of some of Lily's secrets, I found the romance fizzled, but the story and characters continued to be interesting. I like Bray's dominant masculinity and his need to protect and hold onto his mate. Lily is a great match for Bray, in the end she proves that.

Ghost Cats is an entertaining anthology. I feel it has a little of everything. A little thrill, a little passion, or in some cases a lot of passion! Overall I enjoyed it.

Revenge II: Reya Lynx is a shape-shifter who has found her mate, but
refuses to accept him in front of the council. She believes that she
has to be independent, her own woman instead of falling second to her
male mate. These two are an on again, off again pair. During one of
their off periods, Reya encounters a demon that refuses to let her go.
He wants her as his own and imprisons her, making her endure horrible
things. When she finally escapes him, he doesn't let her go, instead
he seeks her out to capture her again. This time Lorenzo, her mate,
steps in and forces Reya to tell him what happened to her so that they
can work this out together. Does Lorenzo save her from another round
with the demon and convince her to claim him as her mate in front of
the Council?

Carnal Instinct: This second story is about Fiona LaSalle. When her
ex-boyfriend leaves her, taking everything she owns with him, she has
to crawl back to her father for help. Instead of just handing her
cash, he makes her get a job, one that he chooses.

Fiona is not good at anything. She was born into a rich family and
until now has been handed everything she has wanted on a silver
platter. Working on a wild life reserve was one of the worst things her
father could have made her do, she was totally out of every element
she'd ever known. Here she finds an unexpected outlet for her pain
while she vents to a lion about all of her problems, including the need
to find sexual release. Maybe a one-night stand would do her good and
get her ex out of her mind so that she can move on.

King, or actually Cade, is a shape-shifting lion. The wild life
reserve gives him a place to lounge around and enjoy the outdoors
without being in danger. When a new woman appears and starts taking
out her anger over her ex-boyfriend on him and venting out her sexual
frustrations to him, he finds that she is a little more than
irresistible. When she innocently reveals her desire for a one night
stand to King, the man inside the lion fights for release and the need
to be that man. Will their passion end in a one-night stand?

Dance of Souls: The third tale, tells the story of Mason Blackwolf and
Chandra Holbeck. Chandra is a gifted woman that is a spirit guide for
those that die. She comes back into town and finds her grandfather
and a friend at the local bar being harassed by a group of shape
shifting wolves. In the corner, Mason sits watching the group and the
women. Just when he wants to step in to save them, he finds himself
pinned to his seat and forced to witness the powers of one of the
women. She is beautiful and graceful and kicks some serious butt.
Something inside him knows that they are connected, but he can't break
free to save her. When Chandra's ex steps in and kills one of the
shape shifters, can Chandra fight the souls that try to take her with
them to the afterlife, or will she need help to save her own soul?

This anthology is remarkable! Three fabulous stories all revolving
around some form of cats. Ms. Clark does a fantastic job with Revenge
II. Reya's episode with Nybras, the demon is well told and pulled at
my heartstrings. When she finally claims Lorenzo and lets him in on
her secret, I just felt the two of them click in place. This story had
all the elements a reader wants to see, a great plot, well-defined
characters, and a wonderful ending! Way to go Ms. Clark, I will
definitely recommend this story.

Ms. Pillow's story Carnal Instinct grabbed me from the moment Fiona
started talking to the lion. Her character comes across as the spoiled
little rich girl, but as the story progresses, you see how she changes
into the woman she needs to be. Cade is a very sexy hero, who I
believe supports Fiona on her perilous journey into an unknown future.
This story is my absolute favorite in this anthology, but none of them
disappoint. If you like shape-shifting cats then this is the story for
you!

Mandy M. Roth's Dance of Souls is an intriguing story that weaves
Native American folklore and traditions together to form a delightful
story. Chandra and Mason fuel the passion without even really
touching. During Chandra's fight, you can feel the need for the two of
them to get together. I love the twist with Mason at the end, which
makes the two of them, as a couple, even more important to the world.
Ms. Roth tells a captivating story that had me turning the pages to the
very end. I look forward to reading more of her stories and hope to
see more from this shape-shifting world she has created!

Pleasure Master by Angelique Anjou

Anya Rambo is the Medical/Science Officer on Space Station 13. Because she won't become part of the sexual merry go round, she has gained a reputation as an ice queen. The station is just about done and the crew will be leaving it, but before that the entire crew is faced with an emergency. There is something headed toward the station and no one can identify it, evacuation is called for. The object turns out to be an alien artifact that appears to resemble a coffin but there is no obvious way open it and no life signs. Anya fights for the right to examine the object and is finally given the approval. She is stumped by the data she receives, but Anya is even more stumped by the erotic dreams that have begun to happen. In them she meets Legion, an alien god, and she can't shake the feeling that he is closer than her dreams. Can Anya figure out the mystery of the artifact and her feelings for Legion in time to save everyone?

Pleasure Master is a futuristic that pulls you along with the suspense. Anya, as the only medical/science person on the station, knows that the alien object has affected the emotions of the entire crew but she is having trouble with her diagnosis. At the same time, she is being visited by Legion in her dreams who makes her melt. The entire time I was reading Pleasure Master I was unsure how it would turn out and exactly who the lead male character was. At the last minute I was turned around again. Ms. Anjou has taken suspense and added it to a mysterious futuristic plot. I was lost a bit with how the ending came to be and even now I'm unsure if Anya got her happy ever after with Legion.

Debt of Honor by Elizabeth Batten-Carew

Angelica only wanted to get off her plane and grab a few special souvenirs; instead she is accused of being in either a kidnapping plot or at least helping to smuggling someone out of the country. Her clothes, passport and money are taken from her, she is not being given access to her embassy and she is taken to a strange place. Kadin is furious that Angelica won't tell him what happened. He blames Angelica for the insult and disgrace that has been received by his family. Kadin tells Angelica that she will be paying the implied debt of justice by serving him. Angelica and Kadin have a night which results in experiences and feelings neither expected nor know quite what to do about. Kadin wonders if he might be wrong about what he thought he knew. Meanwhile Angelica discovers that sometimes being in a harem and/or having access to it isn't so bad after all.

Debt of Honor is a very sexy and steamy look at life in one of the gated estates in a foreign Arabian country. Kadin believes that Angelica is nowhere near as innocent as she appears and decides that she will serve him however he wants to pay what he sees as a debt of honor. Angelica is being held in a strange land by a sexy, handsome stranger that believes the worst of her and is faced with strange new sexual passions. Kadin and Angelica meet under stressful circumstances and discover that where sparks fly, flames will soon burst. Ms. Batten-Carew wrote a story that steams off the pages and when you add minor touches of BDSM it smokes.

I will give a minor warning that any readers who have a problem with same sex scenes, female in this case, might not enjoy this story.

Contact by Jaycee Clark

Daxton Adams has quit the police force and become a P.I., but he is still looking for the solution of several murders he and his partner were trying to solve. While coming across his ex-partner at a crime scene, Daxton realizes that the same person has committed it as the others. Meredith Fox has moved to live with her Mom and Sister at the family home after breaking things off with Daxton. She has not heard from him since the break up, but still misses him daily. Meredith and Daxton come back together after he discovers that she is on the killers contact list. Will Daxton be able to solve the crimes and convince Meredith that they still belong together before it's too late?

Contact shows how sometimes love isn't enough to keep a couple together at one time but how that same love can conquer everything another time. Daxton has loved Meredith for years and was not completely sure why she broke up and walked away from him. Meredith loved Daxton but knew that her obligations made it so she had to leave him. When they come together during a time of danger for Meredith the suppressed love surges forward and won't be denied a second time. I fell for Meredith and Daxton right from the beginning. They both had personal reasons for their actions in the past, but real life has changed their priorities. I have happily followed other stories by Ms. Clark and Contact is a story that won't disappoint.

Prince of Desire by Donna Grant

Lucian Sinclair has left his family and home in the Highlands to search for his mate. He only as a short amount of time in which to locate her, forestall a curse and Lucian has no idea where to start. He decides to stop at a tavern as he passes through a small village. He is quite happy to discover his mate at the tavern, now he just has to figure out how to explain everything to her. Isabelle has lived in her village her entire life and has never felt danger until a handsome stranger saves her one night. She feels strangely attracted to Lucian but has trained herself to be wary of strangers. Lucian and Isabelle quickly submit to the passion that bursts between them. For Isabelle it will be the beginning of a strange tale and future if she can believe all of what Lucian tells her.

Prince of Desire is an historic tale based in the Highlands but has a magical twist to it. Lucian has to find his mate and bring her to his home willingly to save his city. Isabelle does not believe in magic so taking everything that Lucian says at face value is a struggle for her. I thoroughly enjoyed reading how Lucian and Isabelle come to terms with their fate and forge ahead toward an unknown future. Prince of Desire is a well written historical that touches into the fantasy of the Fae. I found it to be wonderful lighthearted story that anyone would love to read.

Mating Behavior by Mandy M. Roth

Alan Becker is a werewolf with a major problem. He has a passion for someone that could bring death to one or both of them as it breaks a major pack law. Alan wants to claim Katie with everything in him but he fights his desire to keep her from danger. Katie has decided that Alan will never be anything other than one of her best friends. Every time it almost looks like he will answer her passion, he backs away. If they ever do come together, Katie knows she will have to tell him her family secret and Katie is unsure how he will react to it. Alan agrees to take Katie away to a cabin in the mountains to help her research in wolfs. However all his work is destroyed when they stumble upon a pack of weres and Alan struggles to save Katie. Katie and Alan will need to trust each other and work together to make it safely out of the mountains.

Mating Behavior snagged me immediately upon starting the story. Alan is a member of a large important pack, but he left it many years ago and has lived in the human city since. Katie is from a magical family that has a darker side it. The sensual feelings between Alan and Katie were evident from the beginning even as they fought it at first. I could feel their relief when they finally gave in to their feelings. I have loved just about everything Ms. Roth has published and I was not disappointed in Mating Behavior. I was grabbed and could not let go until the last page was flipped. A must read for any of her fans.

Phoenix Rising II is a combination of several genres by great authors. I found that the stories in this book just built upon the next until suddenly you were at the end of the book. I have read several of the authors prior to reading Phoenix Rising II and feel that anyone who enjoys these authors will want to have this book on their shelves. Alternatively if you have not read any of these authors, I think this would be a great way for you to discover them.

Pleasure Master by Angelique Anjou

Anya Rambo is the medical officer aboard a space station where an alien artifact impacts. Studying the artifact, she becomes aware that she and the other women aboard the station are having dreams about the same man-and discovers the alien artifact is in fact a capsule encasing the man she believes they have been dreaming of, and who she fears is now attempting to instigate a takeover of the station through those whose dreams he invades.

Like Alien-the original movie, not the sequels-but not gory, and with very hot sex. One of the best sci-fi tales I've read in a while, but with a disappointingly quick ending which made this reader wish the author would expand the story and continue the journey through this very intriguing universe. Recommended.

Debt of Honor by Elizabeth Batten-Carew

Angelica can't believe what's happened when she gets mugged switching planes to return home: a man who claims she has either helped the woman who mugged her, or helped kidnap her says she has offended his family's honor, and now he demands her body as recompense.

Harem scenes with highly explicit female/female and male/female/female interaction. Bondage and fantasized forcible sexual encounters. May not be for all readers.

Contact by Jaycee Clark

Meredith Fox and ex-cop turned P.I. Daxton Adams are a thing of the past until he finds out the serial killer he's hunting is on her trail as his next victim.

Well-written thriller with sexual tension and sub-plot dealing with the loss of family due to cancer. I'm not a big fan of most thrillers, but thought this was well done, particularly given the limitations of a short story. Recommended.

Prince of Desire by Donna Grant

Prince Lucian Sinclair must take Isabella home, or his kingdom will die. Cursed by the Fae, the Princes of his people must all go to the outside world to find their mate and bring her back voluntarily. Should even one fail, the kingdom will be destroyed.

The author uses an interesting device for the drawing together of the two principles here, and though the story takes some time to get rolling, it picks up steam toward the end for a decent finish.

Mating Behavior by Mandy M. Roth

Alan is in love with Katie-but werewolves are forbidden to mate with humans. Not only will they kill him, they'll kill her if they should mate. But Alan knows Katie is his true mate, and can't bring himself to fully leave her, staying on as her best friend and neighbor. Now Katie's talked him into taking her into the mountains to observe the mating behavior of grey wolves-only after it's too late does Alan realize the mountains are inhabited by weres-and that he has placed Katie in great danger just by being with her.

Mandy Roth-need I say more? Ms. Roth delivers her usual stylish punch to a story that's worth the price of the book by itself. Highly recommended
