Mystery of the Whispering Walls

Joanna and her sister Sally Rachel are on a camping trip with their parents and their cousin Mark and his mom Aunt Laura. Dad is a reporter who loves to explore ghost towns so the family's location is Gold Dust Creek, New Mexico. The van breaks down and leaves them stranded. Coyotes howl and other strange noises ring out in the night. Dad and Mark leave to find help and the females are left to explore the old ghost town with minimal food and plenty of adventure. Thinking that they were searching for a ghost the sisters discover a small child named Maria who has been kidnapped. Calamity, accidents and sinister characters make this one of the girls' most exciting camping trips ever.

Written using simple vocabulary and just enough suspense, an appealing book for youngsters. The book contains two interesting features: a Glossary of terms which children will find useful and a "Facts and Fiction" section giving some real life facts about the ghost town of Gold Flake, on which the book was based. Both of these sections add to the books readability.

Author, Jacqueline Stem has written a number of children's books, this being the sixth in the Hollow Tree Mysteries series. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Denton Writer's League and Circle of Children's Authors.

I thought it was more of a story book, but indeed this is a tour guide.Reading it as a book is not fun, it gives specific maps and places to stay. Moreover this is for Central America only.
I am still looking for the story of a man who took the Pan-American highway.

This book was okay, but parts of it were kind of corny. Like breaking into Joe Hagan's farm and all that stuff with Paula. I thought it was pretty dumb how they made a big deal about how big of a racing farm Graytops was, I mean it only had 15 horses at it. That's pretty tiny compared to most barns. Oh well, overall it was a pretty good book.

This is a good book,which I enjoyed.It is a good buy.But I suggest borrowing it from the libary instaed of wasting your money on new books.

It's okay....it's not that informative and the author keeps making stupid jokes about the screenshots. The best part is the As the Sim turns... chapters. Funny stuff, I tell you.

I enjoyed the story that Ms. Alan was telling, but I was constantly distracted by all of the typos. I'm not a freak about grammar or spelling by any means---there were just so many mistakes that it was hard to concentrate on the story---sometimes there was even more than one on a page! Apparently they hadn't heard of spell-check! What a disappointment! I feel like I was ripped off. If that doesn't bother you, then you'll probably enjoy the book. I'm not sure that I'll buy another one by that publishing house though.

I was hoping this would help us learn more about things to expect on our upcoming cruise. However, it's more about the ships themselves rather than their itineraries.

This is a pretty good book for the teen set. Has a lot to do with learning to fit in and finding out who you are while dealing with outside influences. The storyline about the main character's fascination with a certain mystery writer keeps it interesting and finding out what the mystery writer is like in real-life and not the boy's imagination is a nice surprise. Quick read for teens or even pre-teens.

The information contained in here is not bad, although I wouldn't go so far as to call it good. It reads like the yellow pages with a very bland tone, and it does not include personal experience. If you are looking for a just a directory, then this might be for you.

Written from a European focus. That means still useful and inspirational to a U.S. inquirer, but might leave out info needed by U.S. citizen in terms of availability of certain opportunities.
