Wonderful guide for vacationing in the South, especially in Florida. Great tips and activities for those days you do not want to spend at the traditional Walt Disney World themepark. Activities like Seaworld Adventure Park, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and the Orlando Science center were all worthwhile and fun for both adults and kids. Without this National Geographic book we probably would not have had such as adventurous vacation.

The eighteen Oregon towns covered at length are Ashland, Astoria, Baker City, Bandon, Bend, Brookings, Cannon Beach, Florence, Gold Beach, Grants Pass, Hood River, Jacksonville, Joseph, Lincoln City, McMinnville, Newport, Seaside, and Sisters. Full chapters on each of the towns, towns, along with weather and livability ratings, allow for a level of depth ideal for individuals searching for the perfect Oregon home.

This is a very different kind of travel book--and it happens to be one we enjoyed immensely on a week-long trip to eastern Oregon. Instead of a straight listing of sights to see, the author has selected her favorite areas and they come with plenty of recommended things to do and places to stay. It's rather like having a chance to sit down and ask a well-known travel writer to give the inside scoop on the very best locations. We hiked the high Wallowas and drove through Leslie Gulch, discovering fascinating places we never knew existed. We found this book to be inspiring and well-researched. The author has obviously spent time in these locations and this is a refreshing change from ordinary travel books that simply offer a list of attractions without help in putting together a vacation that is filled with a variety of great adventures.

Wonderful reference guide to all cooking schools. Great for professional and just-for-fun classes!

I loved Hannah & Jack! I wish my sister would have written it while my two sons were small enough for me to read it to them. Oh well, my 23 year old and my 18 year old STILL read it anyway, and loved it. We think Mary is simply....The Best!!!

This writer is both a gifted traveler and grandparent. I used this book for a trip with my two grandchildren and had the time of my life!!!! When will she write another about travelling in the Southern States? I am indebted to her work!!!

I can't say enough about the Henry and Mudge series, this is just the latest in a superb collection. My son, who is almost 8, has been reading and re-reading these books from about the age of 5. In the beginning, I'd read them to him. Now, he reads them to me and our dog Daphne, that is, until she curls up and falls asleep!

Hobie is one of my favorite characters of all time. I am 22 and haved loved this book since I was a little kid. My copy is very stained from being dropped in the water so many times while I was reading in the tub. No matter what your age, you must read this book. Absolutely classic entertainment--a great book to read out loud to your kids on a trip, or whenever. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! Much better than 13 Ways to Sink a Sub, Gilson's more well-known book.

This book shows that even though you keep making the wrong decisions you can have your parents and God's forgiveness. It's exciting and adventerous and Tess and Erin meet 2 guys they sort of like.
